The Power Walk: Lesson 18
1/28/2022

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Colossians 1:1-29 KJV
1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timotheus our brother,
2 To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,
4 Since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have to all the saints,
5 For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel;
6 Which is come unto you, as it is in all the world; and bringeth forth fruit, as it doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth:
7 As ye also learned of Epaphras our dear fellowservant, who is for you a faithful minister of Christ;
8 Who also declared unto us your love in the Spirit.
9 For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;
10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;
11 Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;
12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;
20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled
22 In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:

Paul was the author of many good letters to different churches that are contained in scripture both an encourage and was and is also a faith builder. He not only tells you information about the cross but he encourages the church to press on in will doing. If one is disabled one knows that to press on takes skill. Why because you have to learn to deal with all sorts of opposition and struggles that are not common place to the average person. Though everyone struggles and has to overcome the disabled situation somethings are hard to do. No matter the teacher of the disabled, it can get difficult for even caregivers to know how to help someone to overcome. They to get tired of caring, aiding, and even helping love ones and others to be overcomers. It is normal for kids to grow up and have struggles in daily life and parents also grow weary with healthy kids. Yet with someone dealing with disability the tireness, weariness and unability to see the problem has a solution can be a struggle of tired, fatigue, frustration, anger and a little more. The question people around can often see the problem, but guess who can't see the problem the one that is frustrated, tired, fatigues, anger and at their whits in of knowing how to solve the problem. Even with good techniques learned over time the solution still may become difficult with all the anger, frustration, and even sometimes resentment of the problem of everyday life. Sometimes that hand your dealt is more extreme then normal run of the mill person who seems to have beach party life with no problem. Problem we loose it.

Faith is like disability sometimes, one would say is it not ability to be overcomer, it should be, but sometimes faith seems to be our disability and not the power of faith that one preaches. The reason why we need that reminder of faith, the reminder of the cross we preach about, the reminder of the hope of glory of being with Christ, and we do grow weary, tired and worn. Most would say that is life, so why am I saying faith can be disabling, because of the world wants to disable the believer by sneers, mocking and cruelty of not understand our humanity is like theirs in the ability to still do thing imperfectly. Faith has a tenacity of making people look at believer as someone that either seems to have it all together, or not together at all. Critism becomes such that the one trying to overcome is failing instead of having victory by God's Spirit, because the flesh nature is what the believer is wrestling with, so the reminder to run the race, to walk with the power of Holy Spirit, to live with righteousness(faith/belief) and to walk humbly before God and man is in truth difficult to juggle with everyday life. Faith may seem to be a disability, but the disability is what makes us unique to the unbeliever, becoming our ability to demonstrate the ability of God in our life to be that overcomer by faith alone. Imagine the day of judgment when the crowd is seeing those who had faith in Jesus. The judgment and wrath of God is coming and is real.

As a believer I do not see my faith as a disability, but this morning I am calling it a disability, because the world sees it as a disability in us, from the minute we are born again by spiritual faith in Christ Jesus. The unbeliever will attack you with all sorts of things, and yet some only are as polite and non judgmental as you should be. Disability is the holier then thou attitude that comes with knowing your heaven bound, it is that attitude that gets us around the next bend of faith, that says I am a child of God and I am saved by blood of Lamb, yet the world says what are you talking about? Now we have a communication breach that only the church of believers understand. Many people will omit to sin or not always being right at times, but when you began to say the word blood, the first thought might be revenge and not atonement of Christ's blood. Now you are disabled with how the world might perceive the word blood to think and believe the word means revenge? It could also mean kin. Mentality of our language becomes foreign, and those around us might want to understand why we are happy almost all the time, without understanding also why we try and hide our anger in a storm. Why blood covering is necessary for forgiveness of sin. Why the cross is important?

To be super Christian is to show the world we to struggle with overcoming. I seen a man trying to get back in his wheelchair on facebook yesterday, and my husband and I both wanted to tell him how to do it, though it was not alive event. His own father had been in a wheelchair at times and so my husband knew how best to solve the problem. Yet what occured was a helping hand to get the man back in the chair, and whoever was filming cared nothing about the man in the chair. The world is like the camera, but our brothers and sisters should be like the good samaritan that helped the man to get into the chair.

There is a point this morning and here is as Christians our faith may seem like a bother when we are struggling to make ends meet, go another mile, or we feel anger. My faith has been tested to the maxium overload department this past year, it seems it been that way for quite awhile, and the only thing I know is my faith is not my disability. It is only disability to others. Why because instead of reacting as they would, I did the opposite. It does not mean emotion does not well up at times, or stress seems to overload there circuits and I respond badly at times, it means, faith is still intact and Christ is still holding my hand.

If you been absent from your church, your faith still intact, why is it. Are you reading God's word on your own, having a relationship with Christ? Let me tell you, you just got a disability in the worlds eyes, that why Christ light need to shine in your life. Your ability to be an overcomer and not a weakling. Christ is going to lift you up when the world looks at you and instead of being a samaritan mocks and laughs at you. What is my point, God needs the church world to look who out of the doors of the church because of the pandemic and see who needs that phone call, that hands up, and who needs to know why God's people shut the doors during this time. It not just common sense, but it is also stupidity. What I mean is people coming in the house of God needs to say I am well this disease is not being carried in by me. Are we not to carry every disease to God. The answer is yes, but even Jesus said there will always be physicians among us. What then? Isn't the power real you claim? It is, but the reality is, unless God intervenes more lives will be lost and healing is always done in God's timing not ours. If we are not willing to take precaustions that would be normal to even healthcare works, construction workers and so, forth we are definitely in trouble. Disease can be a test, it can be adversity, it can be for a miracle on a day of God's choosing, and it can be a way of seeing who going to have faith within the walls and outside the walls, that believers name is being called heaven bound for complete healing. The believer walks in the world to work, but not into the church, this is struggle for many. It sounds like it hyprocritical, but it is not. I even asked is the church world chicken, then I realize that those people work in the world of this disease and not always from their office, or workplace, but in the center of it all. Believers our faith is being tested, is the church building the only anchor to our soul has a believer but not a receiver?

Our faith needs to be anchored to Jesus, who is in the express image of the Father, before his incorruptible flesh as the Son of God and still is in the express image of God as the Word is the same as the Spirit of God. Spirit without a covering is unseeable as the word of God without a body is unseeable, yet it spoken and becomes something that is not God. and then also spoken and becomes God in the flesh and raised into incorruptibility. Light of day is not God. but the light of God is God. Clinging to the church does not make one saved, and clinging to the church is fellowship and also a sign of some faith, even if one is in disagreement to God. What? There people that attend church, hear the word of faith, and it stops as soon as they leave the church. There people on the outside of church that has more faith then the one that just left the church. What the problem, faith is not held together by fellowship, if it is, you got some shallow roots that need digging up and transplanting in fertile soil that they might grow and breath new life daily in Christ. Meaning fellowship is fellowship through God's Spirit first through faith in Christ Jesus and then congregating with the believers. Church attendance before is often necessary to understand things spiritual.

You say you want to exercise and go walking or running daily, and yet you sit on a couch? Then you have to ask yourself where is your faith? Did you get threaten while walking outside, if so think for a moment the devil is your enemy. He will never be your friend. He does not want to see God have victory in your life and so he going to tear you apart as much as he can. The devil will be your disabler if you let him. Your faith is already looks like it disabled you the minute your got saved, because you need God's plan of salvation through Jesus. Devil does not believe hell is a place of torment but where he torments you. He no longer under God's authority, think again, he can not do anything to you God is not allowing him to test you with. Sounds cruel and Job, I often wonder how his faith was with understanding the devil had the right to test him? How did he justify the death of his children, beyond the fact he had children that partied, that he often made sacrifices for. Those that do not repent, you can not change those people, that hard to deal with in itself.

Did Job wrestle after being complete restored? I can not help but think he looked at God's mercy on his own soul was great, but still had to accept his own grief, and loss as well. These things we are not exempt from. You can cry everyday and it will not bring a soul back to you that gone, nor heal your heart. God's allowing the enemy to test, only says two things, that you are raging battle to beat the enemy, and you have to trust God to win. The same God is going to allow the devil to be defeated and you to be the victor with Jesus.

The race is set before us, run it as if the devil is behind you with no ability to overtake you. Keep your eyes focus, and hold on to faith, do not allow faith to be a disability but enabler to who you are all ready. Do not allow the devil to tell you are defeated, but you are an overcomer. That you will have victory if you continue to run the race God has set before you. That test is a piece of cake or victory has its own reward. Don't quit, your disability(faith) is your link to the Enabler to be an overcomer. The world does not know the power of God or the victory you can have serving him. Don't look back plow foreward. Read each passage of scripture pick our your own verse that speaks to your heart, and memorize it Yes some passages are to long to memorize, but there are some short verse within the passage, pick one, put it on a card or reread it, because God wants to use His word in your life. My words is only defining God's letters of encouragement to the believer, who desire was to be enabler of faith, with knowledge of that opposition that wants to try and destroy you. Those power verses of faith that speak to your heart will enable you through the day, and even in your thoughts. God's word is an enabler to be overcomer. You are saved by faith in Jesus but the journey is often long and hard, you need the power of God's word not just his Spirit working first in your life, so you can enable others to have the power of Christ Jesus in their life too. They got to see your fight of faith.

Dear Heavenly Father, give us faith that is not crippler but is in the Enabler to fight the good fight of faith, despite the world's view. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: Hebrews 12:1-2 KJV
1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

2 Corinthians 4:6-18 KJV
6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
8 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;
9 Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;
10 Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.
11 For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.
12 So then death worketh in us, but life in you.
13 We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;
14 Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you.
15 For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God.
16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.
17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;
18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
