The Power Walk: Lesson 16
1/26/2022

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Psalm 107:22-31 KJV
22 And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works with rejoicing.
23 They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters;
24 These see the works of the LORD, and his wonders in the deep.
25 For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof.
26 They mount up to the heaven, they go down again to the depths: their soul is melted because of trouble.
27 They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wits' end.
28 Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses.
29 He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.
30 Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto their desired haven.
31 Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

The roads in life always has a waterway that must be crossed. Yet sometimes that body water has a life of its own and begins to rage because of thunderstorm. This is not a little creek, but a huge amount of water that can not be waded through to get to the other side a boat must be taken. What is a boat in the storm of life, I am talking metaphorically what is our boat? The arms of God is our safety net. There are times the storm rages all around us, and despite our own rage, our own fears, God's arms comes to comfort us and protect us. The battles within our soul, God's Spirit holding us in our heart. Calming the storm with his words of comfort. The Psalmist knew God calmed the physical storms, but he was using this expression of life journey I believe. Expressing what he was dealing with in his own life and remembrance of others before him in their time of crisis and even their own time of rebellion earlier in the Psalms. You either go through a storm, with shackles that bind the hand and foot or you go through the storm in the safety of God's protection. The blood covering the sins of anger, fear, doubt, and even frustration. The anger of the storm does not mean it calm outside the ark, or that the water does not crash against the boat to try and sink it, and if sin could consume the boat, it would, but God's protection surrounds it. It would not sink in the storm, God already knew that, but did the person in the boat know it, no to him, his time is surely up.

The boat ride in the storm, is not so pleasant, even the New Testament in Mark 4 talks about the ship crossing over to the other side and storm came and fear gripped the disciples aboard the boat, only for Jesus to be resting in the bottom of boat on pillows. Jesus is peacefully sleeping. Disciples wake him and say we are about to drown. Jesus gets up and commands the winds and waves to be still. To be calm, and the wind and the waves became still, and disciples wonder who he was that had power to calm the storm. It easy to talk about Jesus taking us through the storm, but what about being out to sea and he literally calms it. The water still needs crossing, but the sea no longers desires to drown a person. It interesting in the storm of Job, it ends happily ever after, why because the devil found that testing him did not change Job mind about God. His faith was still intacted despite the onslaught of cruel life events on Job's life. Loosing all he had and yet, he held to his hope and faith in God. However his storm was why was God allowing evil to befall him, he wanted to plead his case of he did not deserve it so to speak, he wanted an intercessor to speak for him to God and there was none. His friends blamed Job for his trouble. Our very sin nature and sin declares us unworthy to have the blessings of God.

Let me repeat our very sin nature and sin declares us we are unworthy to have the blessings of God. Yet the disciples were in the boat with Jesus and was receiving the blessings of calmness in the early part of Jesus' ministry. Why did Jesus calm the storm. One they came to him to wake him, not knowing his power to calm the storm. Do people call out to God in the storm of their life, without knowing his power to calm, deliver and make intercession for them. God wants to prove the solution before they receives the evidence that he can. He wants you to know in your heart his power to save is real. I only meet one person that told me they felt nothing when they got saved. I wonder about this for years and still do. What kind of feeling was she looking for. I did not at the time ask her, but the thought comes to me with what were you looking to receive, a feeling, emotion, or Christ in your heart. My prayer for this person is by now you have your own answer of Christ is more then a feeling, but a person that guides your life from the central point of your body called the heart. He lives there to commune with your soul.

The storm you are dealing with in one's life is not without a comforter, deliver or calmer in the storm. Enemy has no right to deceive, play games, do trickery or other evil to you in your life. However it does not mean he does not attack and flood the ship with his vileness, rage of water, and almost consumes you before you seek the solution to the calmer of the storm. Half of our battle is seeking the one that can calm the storm. The one that stop it from raging.

You want to power walk, it not your power that you walking by it must be the power of God. If it not your power to control you need to seek the one with the power to control his power, and that is Jesus. We might be able to control our response, but it does not mean we are the controller of the power to calm the storm we dealing with. Can you control another person? Can you control their responses? Soon or later they will explode if you put to much sanctions on them and they have either jump ship and fight, or talk to the calmer of the storm.

There is a reason there is a pyramid on the one dollar bill, the all seeing eye on the top of the pyramid is the government, they see it all, and it all trickles up to them, but they can not build their foundation on the people. If you look at the dollar bill, the pyramid top seems to separate from the foundation, what between them and the people are the laws of the land, it is the stop point of the pyramid into another three dimensional pyramid. The ability for the all seeing eye to crush the people is ignormous, but its responsibility is greater, because it must allow what can crush to also save the people. When it does not it becomes entity all of its own smaller then the people, and the people are no longer able to be crushed by it, but corrects it themselves.

God's word is either a crusher of the soul only or a restore of the soul too. God maybe above us, but He is far greater then the government because we can not destory him. Yet God loves us as we are, giving us choice and option to be saved or unsaved. Unsaved one day we will be destroyed, saved, we journey with him into paradise and beyond the grave. What is my point, God's word is strong, it stronger then anything man can make. You think you fighting God, join his team and fight the real enemy that wants to destroy you, make you corrupt and evil. Let him calm your storm. Ask him, and if he takes you through the storm like Noah, remember there is a reason for that as well, because the corruption around you was to bad, to just calm the storm. Even Noah storm calmed, and life had to spring forth eventually upon the earth the water covered. There is a day of restoration, a day like Job had, and day the battle is won.

Dear Heavenly Father, you either take me through the storm, or you will calm it, either before I ask, or with me asking. Yet your power and glory will be shown to me and those around me. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: Mark 4:35-41 KJV
35 And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side.
36 And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships.
37 And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.
38 And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?
39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
40 And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?
41 And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?
