Great Is His Faithfulness Day 30 09/30/2021
Daily Devotions: by Christina Farris2 Chronicles 16:1-14 KJV
1 In the six and thirtieth year of the reign of Asa Baasha king of Israel came up against Judah, and built Ramah, to the intent that he might let none go out or come in to Asa king of Judah.
2 Then Asa brought out silver and gold out of the treasures of the house of the LORD and of the king's house, and sent to Benhadad king of Syria, that dwelt at Damascus, saying,
3 There is a league between me and thee, as there was between my father and thy father: behold, I have sent thee silver and gold; go, break thy league with Baasha king of Israel, that he may depart from me.
4 And Benhadad hearkened unto king Asa, and sent the captains of his armies against the cities of Israel; and they smote Ijon, and Dan, and Abelmaim, and all the store cities of Naphtali.
5 And it came to pass, when Baasha heard it, that he left off building of Ramah, and let his work cease.
6 Then Asa the king took all Judah; and they carried away the stones of Ramah, and the timber thereof, wherewith Baasha was building; and he built therewith Geba and Mizpah.
7 And at that time Hanani the seer came to Asa king of Judah, and said unto him, Because thou hast relied on the king of Syria, and not relied on the LORD thy God, therefore is the host of the king of Syria escaped out of thine hand.
8 Were not the Ethiopians and the Lubims a huge host, with very many chariots and horsemen? yet, because thou didst rely on the LORD, he delivered them into thine hand.
9 For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou hast done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars.
10 Then Asa was wroth with the seer, and put him in a prison house; for he was in a rage with him because of this thing. And Asa oppressed some of the people the same time.
11 And, behold, the acts of Asa, first and last, lo, they are written in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.
12 And Asa in the thirty and ninth year of his reign was diseased in his feet, until his disease was exceeding great: yet in his disease he sought not to the LORD, but to the physicians.
13 And Asa slept with his fathers, and died in the one and fortieth year of his reign.
14 And they buried him in his own sepulchres, which he had made for himself in the city of David, and laid him in the bed which was filled with sweet odours and divers kinds of spices prepared by the apothecaries' art: and they made a very great burning for him.
Sometimes we have to look backwards to move forward and if we deny God ability in our life we fall short of finding victory again. Two things happen in our world in which we either win or loose and not about money or prestige, but about reliance on God. If we fail and rely on man we will not have victory. If we rely on God we do have victory. Asa king of Judah had a visitor a seer name Hanani. This man actually inferiorated the king to the point he is imprisoned.
One can do things God's way or he can do it by his own way of thinking. The king in one situation relied on God and had a great victory against Ethiopians and Lubims, who cam with a large military that could easily have defeated Judah but did not. The point being the king relied on the Lord and Judah defeat this military army. However the king got to big headed and thought he knew best and asked another king from Syria to help in the defeat of an army only to loose the battle. Because of this the king throws the seer in prison. For he also speaks of God's eyes going to and fro through the earth to show himself strong to whose heart is perfect before him. King Asa did not want God's power but his own power to be greater.
I believe God is doing a work in Afganistan we can not see or understand in a land now taken over by the Taliban. I believe God will be faithful to his people in that land to give them strength and knowledge to change how a country functions governmental. Some changes of some people will be slow and others will be strong. It like the laws in our own country take time to filter to the people. This new bill to pass in the senate and signed by the President in place to help families taking care of love ones and more. This is positive though it might not be perfect it is a start on a change to aid families in healthcare crisis/storm. No one can prepare to take care of a love one that becomes ill, it just happens. The ability to care is hard on individuals. When and if the government accomplishes this goals of making it easier for families that work to care for love ones then it is a plus, perhaps a godly decision.
However the thing that disturbs me in life is the enability to make change ourselves within some situations, God demands from us as believers to learn to trust him to see the impossible change. Why is it disturbing, because the human heart wants control just like King Asa's heart did. He did not want that reliance on God in every situation, he was not wanting to always hear God or hear how God could change the situation. He had been successful doing things God's way, but his own will had not yet surrender to God and never would. Very few people have the reliance on God issue done perfectly straigth in faith because of their own desire to control their end of a problem or situation. The desire to still seek a best friend, a friends and even a stranger at times. It is only human nature. This kingdom in Syria was a friend and alliance/treaty with King Asa father, but it was not the right alliance for victory.
How come we have reliance on God for one victory and not another. Why is it easy to pray for healing, receive it and not to ask again. Why is it we might ask God for a good job and even get it only to find another that is thought to be good but fail at receiving God's approval because we did not ask God about it or seek him in the decision making of the job. The job turns out not to be the one that should of been kept. Governments make decisions without God all the time, to only be lead for a year or more in the wrong direction. Causing citizens more hardship and aggravation. It like increases we seen the past year only cause hardship and less spending on lower income people. Rich man can just buy what they want with no regard with the increase in spending. People starve with no compassion from the government. Children go without Christmas, school items and even toilet paper sometimes because of the burden government puts on the people. The stores shelves might be stock but the resources to spend or buy is not there, especially for the elderly and the disabled. One meal gone and then another taken. Let not talk about cost of medicine for some. If we rely not on God to meet the need then what is going to happen. For some they will seek a second to third job hoping ends will meet, while others hope a small raise will ease the burden.
I went in the dollar tree the other day found a backpack for a dollar it last a little over a month. I knew the material would not last long, but it was hopefully to help me decide if I really wanted to carry one instead of a purse I am use to carrying. I go in Roses to window shop and look to see the value of those backpacks and purses. I forget how much things have increased as far as little personal items. I found one I liked, but decide I really did not want to spend. I like that when I shop. However when you get that way in the grocery store, and you look at increases and go from store to store and seeing the increase prices so high, you know most poor will never eat even a piece of real meat again. I have time to seek out prices, but others do not. When groceries go up fifty dollars, it gets scary for most. In truth the increase in prices have made groceries go up maybe hundred dollars in any person's budget. Poor can't handle that for long. More will be in the food lines at shelters and people begging on the street, while government preaches get another job. And people say I can't take a third job because they have to sleep. The government wants more money and alot of people have died and because of it, it effects our economonics over all. They increase stuff to try to make the percent meet quota of saying look how will the economy is going. It like a cop writting tickets to meet quota. He does not meet quota, it can and does effect his wages or status. We maybe a republic, we may be a capitalist form of government, but our nation needs to pray that people will be more important then the economics percents on the board. Even the totals need adjusting for the crisis.
Every nation is effected, but every nation is bouncing back some better then before. How hard is the Pharaohs in the world over working their people to get that economy rolling? Truth is something will crash if it nothing but the working man. The point is, without Jesus those suffering would not survive. If we trust God in the hard times are we going to trust him in the good times. Kings Asa claimed the victory for God for the people only, to seek another person's help. That is life. That is exactly what our nation does by seeking others for solutions first. It does not mean we do not work with others, it means we put God first in the decision making process. Let us not be like King Asa for he never went back in all his days of seeking God for anything not even disease. He want power not God.
Let us seek God in all situations knowing God solution may come in aid from another, or by us allowing God to fight the battle ahead of us, so all we got to do is walk through the valley and shadows of death with no fear, trusting in his promise to be with you despite common sense to pull out the blacklight to see where you are going. Trust in Jesus and he be with you all the way. Trust in him, seeking him for guidance, knowing your Heavenly Father word is true, and he is faithful as promise to both you and I. It does not matter what the powers of this world does, God is still faithful to his people, for he goes to and fro seeing who is righteous and holding to his word and promises. Do not be like King Asa and follow another.
Dear Heavenly Father help us to seek only you in decision in our life, because you have the key that opens all the right doors and the sword of truth that wins all the battles for us. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
