Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Leviticus 5:14-19 KJV
14 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
15 If a soul commit a trespass, and sin through ignorance, in the holy things of the LORD; then he shall bring for his trespass unto the LORD a ram without blemish out of the flocks, with thy estimation by shekels of silver, after the shekel of the sanctuary, for a trespass offering:
16 And he shall make amends for the harm that he hath done in the holy thing, and shall add the fifth part thereto, and give it unto the priest: and the priest shall make an atonement for him with the ram of the trespass offering, and it shall be forgiven him.
17 And if a soul sin, and commit any of these things which are forbidden to be done by the commandments of the LORD; though he wist it not, yet is he guilty, and shall bear his iniquity.
18 And he shall bring a ram without blemish out of the flock, with thy estimation, for a trespass offering, unto the priest: and the priest shall make an atonement for him concerning his ignorance wherein he erred and wist it not, and it shall be forgiven him.
19 It is a trespass offering: he hath certainly trespassed against the LORD.

God is faithful to forgive our tresspasses/sins. Do we walk in a world of confusion, or in a world of peace and tranquility? Do we walk in make belief of how are world today is. We live in world because of the original tresspass against God call adultery by Adam and Eve who obeyed the serpent. The way to remove the tresspass against God and to follow in obedience to God was through sacrifical laws by making atonement for sin. Yet he bear the mark of his tresspasses/sins when he died on the cross for human law. In the world we live in this is true. If your guilty once of sin you continue to be guilty to the world, but not to God. Man reminds man of their mistakes and God does not. It best as humans to learn to forgive sin, some sin not easy to forgive. Jesus taught to forgive sin. With Christ always teaching to forgive seven times seventy, who going to bother to count unless it happens daily. Think God mind is infinite ours is not. Yet God in his wisdom to be just to forgive us when we ask and deliver us from all sin, then he made a covenant called the sacrificial/trespasse law.

When we talk about tresspassing we know if you come on a person land illegally, you have commited a sin against a person, but if you tresspass not knowing you did so it no longer sin. In some places if you tresspass on private property you are shot or killed. You may receive a warning before you are killed. Yet often if you walk way from the land you trespass on you are then no longer a target of the person you sin against. Even a stray dog knows what a warning shot is if they ever were shot in the rear when walking on a farmers land. Stray dogs are not friends of farmers, because often they kill live stock, like chickens and baby animals for food. They learn quicly to avoid farmer's wife and the farmer, and even the farm, if they are smart.

The point is that humans often forgive minor offenses without an gift being given or repayment of some kind, but there times some gifts must be given. God did two things when he forgave us, he sent his Son into the world so we might be saved by teaching us about forgiveness, and then dying on the cross for our sin. Then after his resurrection he gave those he paid the price of sin for, the gift of the Holy Spirit, not for us to use at our will but to use at the will of the Father, so we are empowered to do the will of God has His Son with our humanity in tow. We are never equal to Christ, but we are his followers, his disciples and his children.

Sin against God in our life is following in the ways of darkness/evil, following the spirit and power of the enemy. We walk before salvation under the power of darkness and not under the power of God. We choose not the ways of God instead the ways of the enemy. Then we enlighten to the good ways of God something happens we desire the goodness of God, we desire the light God has to offer and there is a tug a war match in our heart for who is going to be Lord. We start imitating the good things we see. It like the Jones painting a purple house only for the neighbor to then paint their house the same color. It is the same principal if we do good things others want to do things too, if nothing but to get hopefully the same pat on the back, but the truth is that pat or like does not always happen. In fact the world copies the things that is light to them because they benefit from it. Yet they also imitate the things of darkness. Our sin yes it not of God either, but if choosing Christ we choosing the right way of living.

Our sin causes our death, and yet even when we dead in our tresspass against God he still made a way to forgive us our tresspass against him, through his Son who died on the cross for our sin. When we believe we are no longer accountable for our sin, it is covered as long as we choose to follow him, and make changes that are against sin, that are in favor of the ways of God. Sounds simple really, but is it. The answer lies is we have to understand what is right and wrong to God not to man. Adultery, to obey the devil, to worship the devil would be idolatry, and to adore the things of evil. Do you love it when someone is hurting or evil? Think again that is not the ways of God.

Where is the hope rested in good works? No. When Christ died on the cross the ground did shake the veil was torn that separated man from God. It is by God's grace he sent his Son to pay the price for sin, by receiving Christ we are created then into the image of Christ. We are lights in a darken world, of the goodness of God through our good works. What then do we strive to live like Jesus doing his work and not the work of the devil.

We grow into the temple of God by faith laying upon the works of apostles, disciples before us and even our own block is place in the wall as we are called to his saving grace and to good works. Works can not save a person, faith must be applied. Without faith we can not saved or have the hope that is found in Christ Jesus.

Dear Heavenly Father may we grow by your Spirit into people of faith in Christ Jesus doing good works and having compassion for others in need. Being light to others and not darkness. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: Ephesians 2:1-22 KJV
1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
11 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;
12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:
13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;
15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;
16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:
17 And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.
18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.
19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:
22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.
