Psalm 98:1-9 KJV
1 A Psalm. O sing unto the LORD a new song; for he hath done marvellous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory.
2 The LORD hath made known his salvation: his righteousness hath he openly shewed in the sight of the heathen.
3 He hath remembered his mercy and his truth toward the house of Israel: all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.
4 Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise.
5 Sing unto the LORD with the harp; with the harp, and the voice of a psalm.
6 With trumpets and sound of cornet make a joyful noise before the LORD, the King.
7 Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.
8 Let the floods clap their hands: let the hills be joyful together
9 Before the LORD; for he cometh to judge the earth: with righteousness shall he judge the world, and the people with equity.
Great is God's Faithfulness to man to do what? No matter if you are heathen or a child of God one thing you will know is obedience to God and the value of it. Any scholar can read the principals of the law in the Old Testament and say most are common sense even in the world of unbelief, but to be a wild person, untamed by any law you have no conscious beyond what has hurt you if something should be outlawed/revenged. Making a law of one's own revenge. Polite society most laws if defined by common law of man in our nations today it clearly seen as polite laws, or protection for "good people". Law is only as good as those in charge of the law. Only to those who will enforce the law. I heard a story the other day and do not know the full story, but he lost two children by leaving them in a hot car. His work had distracted to the point he forgot he had passengers. His sentence dealing with his own mistake the rest of his life. And the only thing I could figure is whatever the work was, he had to be of some major importance to the world where he was standing.
The truth of the matter the understanding of God's way upon reading it is simple, but to understand belief is a factor can only come by the Spirit of God. Common sense laws compared within the laws of our world today can only be seen as moral. Yet when it comes to God and belief in him, and him being the founder of laws and being the law giver is something else. Children of Israel walked on the earth and God was pointed out to them as being both lawgiver and miracle worker. Without miracles, wonders, and power from above enforcing these laws of truth, before them, they would only have value of the law and not the knowledge of the law giver. With God's faithfulness to deliver not only his laws but his word, the world maybe never of known of God's existence. Moses demonstrated God's power in the wilderness and in the court of Pharaoh. Not by his might or power, but declaring what God spoke to him about what would happen if God did not let his people go. The declaration of judgment continued even in the desert, down to the point that those that chose to worship God not under the leadership of Moses found themselves in a sinkhole that swallowed them up. That not something man can duplicate. There are things people say will maybe concidence or God's design. However we have to ask whatelse occurred but people dying that had assembled before Moses, and death ceases by having Aaron making atonement for Israel sin in the mist of them.(Numbers 16).
With the horrible story of the earth swallowing up part of Israel people we have to ask then what hope does man have with this type of prophesy. The sin forgiven upon the atonement being given. How much more is sin forgiven when people receive the atonement work of Christ on the cross for our sins. And God sees the blood covering and the cleansing tht he designed for man. The staple of God's word in Israel life only brought the reality of God's power, but not always his love. What mean is people have to realize love comes sometimes with correction and his mercy shown on those that do not follow the path of people who want control or power over their life. When we give our heart to Jesus, he is our redeemer and our Savior but he is also the word of God coming to pass in physical form and in the spirit of prophesy to come. The fact Christ will return not only in word by the Holy Spirit but also in physical form descending in a cloud and every eye will see him and every eye will behold him, and every eye will see his judgment and his mercy to both those that believe and do not believe. Those that follow and obey his truth only have hope and thsoe that do not have that hope are in disobedience to God's ways. It is simple but at the same time, two teachers Moses and Christ before Israel and the world. Christ being greater then Moses because he is the only Begotten of the Father full of truth and grace. He is more then a man, but the word of God and God. Moses was a messenger only, and prophet, teacher, and leader to Israel not God.
With knowledge of knowing God is able to perform his works and power before even the heathens, what is our role but tell who this God is, who the Son is, and who the Holy Spirit is to all the world. Not easy when the things of God demonstrated is shell shocking to our own soul and mind. When we understand and our own need to have fear in our heart before God is more real then we imagine, and yet we know he is a loving God to all that worship and seek him, even in the storms of life. God does not remove every trouble from us, but he removes every weight of sin from us. Let us rejoice that his word is divine and his promise are kept. That God is faithful to first his own and also to those that yet to know him but need to know him. Pray for the heathens of our land, that they will know the power of God in our world today. For the heathens carry the both the weight of sin and the truth of God's word despite their ability to believe, receive God.
Dear Heavenly Father, we see the weight that we carry concerning the cross of our life that we pick up and carry with us, knowing we carry the word of God and the weight of the word of God on our very soul. Let us hold to your word as being truth even when we fail your word, for your Son is our atonement. Help us to strive with truth before us that we obey it always, running the race that is set before us. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
Continual Scripture Study: Numbers 16:28-34 KJV
28 And Moses said, Hereby ye shall know that the LORD hath sent me to do all these works; for I have not done them of mine own mind.
29 If these men die the common death of all men, or if they be visited after the visitation of all men; then the LORD hath not sent me.
30 But if the LORD make a new thing, and the earth open her mouth, and swallow them up, with all that appertain unto them, and they go down quick into the pit; then ye shall understand that these men have provoked the LORD.
31 And it came to pass, as he had made an end of speaking all these words, that the ground clave asunder that was under them:
32 And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their houses, and all the men that appertained unto Korah, and all their goods.
33 They, and all that appertained to them, went down alive into the pit, and the earth closed upon them: and they perished from among the congregation.
34 And all Israel that were round about them fled at the cry of them: for they said, Lest the earth swallow us up also.
2 Corinthians 4:6-18 KJV
6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
8 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;
9 Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;
10 Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.
11 For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.
12 So then death worketh in us, but life in you.
13 We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;
14 Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you.
15 For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God.
16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.
17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;
18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
Hebrews 12:1-2 KJV
1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
