Great Is His Faithfulness Day 14 09/14/2021
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisJohn 9:1-41 KJV
And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth.
And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?
Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.
I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.
As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.
When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay,
And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing.
The neighbours therefore, and they which before had seen him that he was blind, said, Is not this he that sat and begged?
Some said, This is he: others said, He is like him: but he said, I am he.
Therefore said they unto him, How were thine eyes opened?
He answered and said, A man that is called Jesus made clay, and anointed mine eyes, and said unto me, Go to the pool of Siloam, and wash: and I went and washed, and I received sight.
Then said they unto him, Where is he? He said, I know not.
They brought to the Pharisees him that aforetime was blind.
And it was the sabbath day when Jesus made the clay, and opened his eyes.
Then again the Pharisees also asked him how he had received his sight. He said unto them, He put clay upon mine eyes, and I washed, and do see.
Therefore said some of the Pharisees, This man is not of God, because he keepeth not the sabbath day. Others said, How can a man that is a sinner do such miracles? And there was a division among them.
They say unto the blind man again, What sayest thou of him, that he hath opened thine eyes? He said, He is a prophet.
But the Jews did not believe concerning him, that he had been blind, and received his sight, until they called the parents of him that had received his sight.
And they asked them, saying, Is this your son, who ye say was born blind? how then doth he now see?
His parents answered them and said, We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind:
But by what means he now seeth, we know not; or who hath opened his eyes, we know not: he is of age; ask him: he shall speak for himself.
These words spake his parents, because they feared the Jews: for the Jews had agreed already, that if any man did confess that he was Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue.
Therefore said his parents, He is of age; ask him.
Then again called they the man that was blind, and said unto him, Give God the praise: we know that this man is a sinner.
He answered and said, Whether he be a sinner or no, I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see.
Then said they to him again, What did he to thee? how opened he thine eyes?
He answered them, I have told you already, and ye did not hear: wherefore would ye hear it again? will ye also be his disciples?
Then they reviled him, and said, Thou art his disciple; but we are Moses' disciples.
We know that God spake unto Moses: as for this fellow, we know not from whence he is.
The man answered and said unto them, Why herein is a marvellous thing, that ye know not from whence he is, and yet he hath opened mine eyes.
Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.
Since the world began was it not heard that any man opened the eyes of one that was born blind.
If this man were not of God, he could do nothing.
They answered and said unto him, Thou wast altogether born in sins, and dost thou teach us? And they cast him out.
Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him, he said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God?
He answered and said, Who is he, Lord, that I might believe on him?
And Jesus said unto him, Thou hast both seen him, and it is he that talketh with thee.
And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped him.
And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind.
And some of the Pharisees which were with him heard these words, and said unto him, Are we blind also?
Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth.
Born to prophesy to the Jewish leaders, born to be blind to be healed at fifty, Born to demonstration the power of God, that is blindness was not because of sin, but born so God could deliver him. When God allows a disability from birth to occur it not because of sin, because God has a special purpose for his or her life. In the case of the blind man he would be healed, Yet his healing caused quite a stir. It caused the blind man to rebuke and speak truth about his healing. To speak he knew not this man or who he was, but that he had healed him. He knew if he was healed it had to be of God. He testified of the man being of God. His sight now given to him.
In Matthew 24 it says many shall come in my name and shall deceive many, speaking of Christ name. The leaders and rulers knew that Moses was a servant of God, but knew not who Jesus was. His ministry always in question, even with miracles like the blind man. Now today many of us would not believe someone that came up and said they were God or Christ, in fact we might even called the cops on Them. Yet what happened was the blind man admitted he knew not Jesus, but he knew the miracle had to have come from God. There are many false teacher and leaders in our world and even the very elect if they could be deceived would fall to false teacher. Yet the false gods begin the minute a man, woman and child gives a person godlike status to a miracle of God and that person takes the attitude yep I healed you instead of giving God glory.
Greatness of God's faithfulness is to keep his children from failing into idolatry of man and miracle workers called by God to pray, fast and to be witness of God's healing power in another life. Those called that make sure the one deliver is not focused on the things of man doing but the word of God.
The Pharisees cast out the blind man. The blind man knew not Jesus but when Jesus heard about the blind man being cast out, he went to look for him and he told him who he was. That he was the Son of God, that he had seen and had talked to him. Do not worry if you cast out, God is not going to leave you behind, when you stand up to religious leaders of who healed you or anyone for that matter. Say God healed me, Jesus healed me. God's Spirit healed me. God delivers may of delivered you from emotional problem say God healed you. If God heals your broken body or from a disease say God healed you. And if God used a doctor to make you more comfortable say God gave me an angel of mercy to ease my suffering until my healing.
Jesus told the man to go and sin no more. What was the man sin? His sin here was not knowing who Jesus was and so denying the power of Jesus. Yet the man was ignorant to his sin for he said he knew not who Jesus was but that he knew he was healed. Now he could no longer deny the power of Jesus or who he was.
There were others that felt that same way of not being able to deny God's power. Mary called Magdalene had seven demons cast out of her and several other women who had been healed of demons and diseases. These women ministered to his needs, even anointing his body for burial, before the cross.
Where are we today in our faith, do we see the power of God in our life or only the power of man to do miracles? Who is the author of our miracle, man or God? Haven't had a miracle, what about just basics of being born. Who created and designed you. That a big miracle in itself. Are you allowing him to mold and shape you into who you ought to be. I know he might just be shaping you a little as you see how Great God is to be faithful to his people in allowing us to be able to recognize his power in our life. The man born blind not because of sin, but because God designed him and created him. He knew about God but not Jesus. He had faith, but he was blind. Then he could see not only physically but spiritually too. What going to remove your blinders on who our healer is and who we need to seek for healing and not the faith healers.
Dear Heavenly Father, move those blinders so our eyes can your faithfulness to us. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
