Great Is His Faithfulness Day 12 09/12/2021
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisAmos 5:23-27 KJV
23 Take thou away from me the noise of thy songs; for I will not hear the melody of thy viols.
24 But let judgment run down as waters, and righteousness as a mighty stream.
25 Have ye offered unto me sacrifices and offerings in the wilderness forty years, O house of Israel?
26 But ye have borne the tabernacle of your Moloch and Chiun your images, the star of your god, which ye made to yourselves.
27 Therefore will I cause you to go into captivity beyond Damascus, saith the LORD, whose name is The God of hosts.
In the judgment is there is love? In God's wrath is there love. God can abandon his people like he did Cain who only was God's through the creation of him outside and inside the womb, go back a few devotion to help you make sense of this, if it doesn't chive at the moment that Cain was created being by God. God created Cain and would abandon Cain because he never bore the mark of obedience through faith in God. Yet Israel bore the mark of obedience of faith, not every individual could be label as righteous because of sin. They were taught faith from infancy up. So in this since despite the human heart they obey the religious law. Instead of chasing after God, they followed idols. Even Moses on his way to gather the people found his son circumcized by his wife, because the Lord was going to kill them. The knowledge of the word is present but the heart uncircumcized to true faith in God. The flesh was circumcized but not the heart, mind and spirit. Instead they carried the tabernacle of the Moloch and Chium.
What we have to ask why did God not abandon his people like he did Cain. Cain sin was just not giving the right sacrifice and jealous of his brother, when the warning came of not to sin and then Cain sinned by killing his brother Abel. Cain could not deal with his correction on his sacrifice nor could he deal with the fact his brother did it right. Yet Israel performed the corrected sacrifices and still chased after other gods. They were in the sin of Idolatry. The sin of Adultery against God. Yet God only turned them over to their sin and set them right out of the beautiful city of Jerusalem and land of Israel into Exile. Is that not what God did to Adam and Eve for disobedience, yet God was still in Adam's and Eve life. Eve still recognized the power of God in the ability to conceive and have children.
God's faithfulness to man despite their sin, is because of his love for them. His correction comes in the form of exile like in the days of the wilderness, and then God brings the faithful remnant home and begins to teach those that no not the God of Israel. Even down to the purity in building of the Temple by the sanctified first.
Cain had a family and his family knew the punishment of Cain and understood that their sin brought judgment for even Lamech said I killed two people that his punishment be seven fold. Then we see Israel killing in battle and never foresaken or exiled, and God leading the battle. Is their killing that justifiable and killing that is not? Is war looked at differently in God's eyes? The answer is apparently. Yet do believers war against each other, they should not. War usually by two different faiths that are never the same. Peace can be established because of faith, because of common goaled to obey God. Yet sometimes we have to realize what is the things that cause war? Greed, Envy, desire, evil needs to be destroyed, and theft(need to claim what was taken).
Yet the question looms of if I righteous by faith and sin as Israel sin/Adam and Eve sin will I not be in exile if I choose another god? The answer remains the same, God will not allow idolatry, adultery of faith in anyway. God clear until you get your head screwed on right you will be in exile from the blessings of God and if it is a nation in exile those with faith will still be blessed though it will be as a trial as they walk in the land of exile. God will not abandon his people that continue to seek him and not another.
Sometimes our problem is not Idolatry or Adultery towards God, but simply we did not ask God or anyone, but took the harshness of life without saying Lord here is the problem, it is yours now, and I leave it in your hands to solve, because I can not. See we might look at our situation as being abandoned by God, but we are not. God faithfulness to those that worship him is true, but he waits for us to reach up to him, asking him for help. The wilderness Israel was going in was into exile from the land of Israel because of sin. Sin gotten so gross that it belong not in the holy city or holy land of God. God is not going to put up with sin in a place of holiness. God would use this time to correct as he did in the wilderness. Yet it was also a time of fishing for those that might believe in God of Israel too. We can not forget there would be converts to Israel faith despite God's judgment. Ruth inlaws were Israelites and she was from the land of Moab, yet Ruth chose the God of Israel and her great great grandson would be King David.
Christ came because of God's love for us that we needed a leader like Moses, to teach about his Spirit and His Heavenly Father, to intercede in our life, to bring the right path to knowledge and understanding of a simplier easier path to follow. Is we follow His Spirit the things of the earth and the laws of the earth will only be applied by what man calls sin, not always the same as what God calls sin. There is freedom in Christ, but our judged by our peers. If they be not Christians they will judge by their code of law and not always the laws our government establishes. The law of faith is love and love conquers all.
There is a point I want to make God is strict when it comes to worshipping him alone. He is strict when it comes to obeying his word and Spirit, but he does not just lay down the law of faith, but he desires to teach and show you the product of faith in him. The product of faith is love, hope and friendship with God(Father, Son And Holy Spirit). A family that can never be taken away or destroyed for eternity. Through our learned obedience we gain not exile but unity with God, and his people.
Dear Heavenly Father, the battle of exile is not a relationship with you, but upon our knowledge and exceptance of faith in you, we no longer exiled by sin through the cross of Jesus. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
Continual Scripture Study: 1 Corinthians 10:1-33 KJV
1 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;
2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat;
4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.
5 But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.
6 Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.
7 Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.
8 Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.
9 Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.
10 Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.
11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.
12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.
13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
14 Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.
15 I speak as to wise men; judge ye what I say.
16 The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?
17 For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread.
18 Behold Israel after the flesh: are not they which eat of the sacrifices partakers of the altar?
19 What say I then? that the idol is any thing, or that which is offered in sacrifice to idols is any thing?
20 But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils.
21 Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils.
22 Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?
23 All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.
24 Let no man seek his own, but every man another's wealth.
25 Whatsoever is sold in the shambles, that eat, asking no question for conscience sake:
26 For the earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof.
27 If any of them that believe not bid you to a feast, and ye be disposed to go; whatsoever is set before you, eat, asking no question for conscience sake.
28 But if any man say unto you, This is offered in sacrifice unto idols, eat not for his sake that shewed it, and for conscience sake: for the earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof:
29 Conscience, I say, not thine own, but of the other: for why is my liberty judged of another man's conscience?
30 For if I by grace be a partaker, why am I evil spoken of for that for which I give thanks?
31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.
32 Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God:
33 Even as I please all men in all things, not seeking mine own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.
