Great Is His Faithfulness Day 6

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Job 38:1-11 KJV
1 Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,
2 Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge?
3 Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me.
4 Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding.
5 Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it?
6 Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof;
7 When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?
8 Or who shut up the sea with doors, when it brake forth, as if it had issued out of the womb?
9 When I made the cloud the garment thereof, and thick darkness a swaddlingband for it,
10 And brake up for it my decreed place, and set bars and doors,
11 And said, Hitherto shalt thou come, but no further: and here shall thy proud waves be stayed?

Lord spoke out of a whirlwind. No one question how big this whirlwind was, how tall/long it was, and if it stood beside Job as the Lord spoke to him. If you read of God response to Job, one would never ask these things again perhaps. Yet what we understand is God is speaking out of the whirlwind and is not the whirlwind itself. Lord wants to know who darkens his counsel. The light missing from the plead or request from Job and he speaking with ignorance. Lord is not a man that he girds up his loins like and man, who has to answer Job like a man, or obey his demands. God is saying to Job who are you to give me orders. God says to Job were you there when I laid the foundation and laid the cornerstone. Who designed it with measurements. Who fastened the foundation together. As if one can open the earth and roll it out like a scroll. Want to know if Job was there when the morning stars sung together and all the sons of God shouted for joy. Wanted to know if Job was present at these events. Was he there when he shut the door on the sea and when he gives it the commands of what it can do?

God is a great God and his faithfulness to man is great, but what we fail to see is his power and might not only in the life of his creation, but his power in our own life. God is faithful to his children but it always in his timetable and for a purpose. That storm will never last any longer then it should and has to obey the word and voice of God. The man born blind in John 9 that was healed was healed in God's timetable which was fifty years from his birth. The ark doors remain shut until God said Noah could open it. If you receive a gift from a friend or love one that question you might ask, can I open it now? Or you may say I will open it now or later. The time to open may not be yours to decide and then again it might be.

God timetable is never based on if we feel we are ready, but are we ready to receive what God is going to do? Gideon (Judges 6)meet a angel from the Lord who told him he would lead the battle, and his response was he was a poor man. Lord did not ask if he was poor, or even ready, he said you will lead the battle. David on the other hand seen Goliathe and said I will take the Giant down. He knew his ability, he been trained to take down enemy that was fiercer and strong then him called, bears, and lions, this Giant was a piece of cake, yet he was not ready to wear the kings armour, but he was anointed to one day be king. How great is our God to prepare us for part one of our life only to have to train us for part to of our journey. The fact we get a part two was based on our obedience in the first half of the first journey.

Who are we to declare knowledge of God creation and works without even being there. Yet God calls us to tell the story of creation, to share the truth of his word. Job wanted to know why God had allowed all this evil in his life, without intercessor to plead his cause. God answered from his throne through the whirlwind, who wanted to know why he darkened his counsel without words without knowledge. Job was being tested by Satan for his righteousness/faith. He would stand the call of God to say I am a believer despite what may come. However Job found out the truth, he was seeking a reason for his calamity, only to discover he was out of line. It not anything he did that cause the trouble, it was Satan who came to test him and for God's limits to cease the test. Are we going to be faithful to God in the storm or are we going to blame God for the storms in our life because we think we are to righteous for the storm. When God calls us to take up our cross and follow him, he did not say the road would be smooth, only that we have to take up the cross/ our life and follow in the ways of God despite what may befall us. Whether persecution, storms, disabilities, pain, struggles of all kinds, it matters not. Are we going to obey the Lord. Do we even understand what it means to follow Jesus? Job after the test was greatly blessed and even had more children, livestock and so forth. His reward for standing the test without knowledge.

Dear Heavenly Father how great you are and your knowledge past our own understanding, or own wisdom. You healed Job and you heal your people through the granted desires of their heart as they follow you and carry their cross. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: Mark 8:34 KJV
34 And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
