13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory. We all get tired of fake news, but establishing what is fake and real must come with diligents of listening to the news, past, present and furture hope. As a believer we to must establish if the reality of God is real in our hearts, without doing so, we fail to be able to hear the truth of God's word. If we study the prophets the word of the Lord and what he said to the people were very important. We look back at the history on the books and say was this historically truthful of the events that would occur, had occured, and hopefully in someways would and would not occur depending on where you are reading.
Did anyone really want Nineveh to be destroyed, it would be destroyed but not in Jonah day. Did anyone want anyone lost in the story of Noah, but how many people heeded the warnings of the word of the Lord spoken by Noah. How many people in the streets cry repent only to be scoffed at, and yet Christ will one day return. The fact Christ being the word has return he just as not returned in phyiscal form, but the Spirit goes forth sharp as any two edge sword, piercing the heart of man to repentance. That one person in the crowd saying I do not feel anything, didn't hear God speak to me, and I truth do not see what you talking about. The truth maybe he not listening, or maybe it not his day of salvation for some reason. Yet maybe it is those doubts that keeps him from receiving Christ. That not where we need to be in order to receive Christ, we need to be at the point of searching for truth within the word of God and seeing if the truth is real, even if hard to fathom in our mines.
I still struggle with the prophesy of God spoken to my heart as well has verbally from the pulpit of two deaths that occurred. One reason both could of been murder, yet there is no evidence to the fact of murder, but definitely there was prophesy. It will always be those type of events that will rattle a person, but it not something to base faith upon, beyong that the Holy Spirit was warning of events that would occur. It is those events that today's world is hard to understand. One reason is the ability it to be faked, or produced by illegal acts. It is the falsehood or lie that rattles the soul. Yet the truth will not only rattle the soul but pierce it with I warned you what was about to be and you could not receive says the Lord to the soul.
Why is it that it easier to say something can not or will not happen, or to believe it to come to pass, only when it happens the heart has trouble of receiving the truth. Do you think Noah was prepared for what did happen, probably not for he would grow a vineyard and make wine to get drunk. I can not imagine how did Noah mind handle the events of his day. Probably not well. Yet he should of been rejoicing for he and his family was saved. When Noah and his family got off the ark and altar to the Lord was made, and then days passed by long enough for grapes to grow and wine to processed, to get drunk with. What happened, the reality he was alone in the world except for his family, and God his Savior.
The harsh reality of day of judgment is not etched clearly in the heart of the believer for we know we saved by God's grace, because the Holy Spirit seals our hearts and speaks all truth to us from the day of revealing our sins to us and we repent upon receiving his truth, to speaking of events to come to pass. The warnings of God to be taken seriously and the warnings of God to be heard. However the joy of truth is also a reality, from the foreknowledge of a birth of a child, to the joy and elation of victory being ours before we see the promise come to pass, as far has eternal salvation upon belief in God's words, "For God so loved the World, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever belief in him should not perish but have eternal life, John 3:16. Simply the promise of eternity given to the believer.
Hope is a valuable to the believer, because it speaks of truth to come, but we must rest first in the truth of what already as come to receive the hope of eternity to come. Faith comes first in believing Christ existed in the flesh, that the small record of faith is not only enough, but God reveals himself to the mustard seed of faith, to stretch the unthinkable truth of coming to be. We only know the world as we see it, faith is not always the way the world sees it, for the word of God must come first and the world would like to claim the word first.
What is faith it is believing God at his word, to give hope to the soul, and that where it begins, by receiving Christ as Lord and Savior, and being seal with the Holy Spirit of promise, to know the truth as God reveals it to you. To learn about God's truth verses man's truth that is not always true and you know truth by God's Spirit whether it be God or by the world.
Dear Heavenly Father, speak truth to the heart of your people, to know your truth and your truth alone, through the presents of your word, spoken to the heart and inner soul of each believer. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
Continual Scripture Study:1 John 4:1-6 KJV
1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
5 They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.
6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.
