Blessed Are The Peacemakers
9/15/2019

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Matthew 5:9 KJV
9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

Who are the peacemakers but the children of God. If we went by all our global leaders in the world some would not be children of God by this one verse. There strive and aim is all about war and not peace. In fact they go an blow up anything to get attention of every nation around. There reason for doing so is to only cause war, but also to make their enemy throw the second punch. Yet to ignore it, from the enemies side is to say we are cowards or not willing to stand up for what is right. However the enemy of such a land that goes and blows up things can say in uncertain terms that instead of fighting lets negotiate peace, if that can not be reach there will be war. In other words you broke my GI Joe and I want it fixed game. If not fixed I give you a busted nose. In truth these tactics seldom work in fact they lead often to war that is often put on hold for a few months or minutes. More scrimage come due to these tactics. Yet the bigger leader is the one that tries hard to make peace instead of war. Yet peace also must be reasonable for all to come to an agreement. How do you pay for lost lives, not just lost work days and cost of what you blew up. In truth it is impossible to weight the cost of the crime.

What is my point this morning. our country often tries to be a peacemaker from the information we receive. To others we look like bullies because perhaps they have not all the facts. It is the right of all watching to have facts not just rumors of war. It is important all have the knowledge of cost in hand, to see who would possibly pay it if it were them. If no one would then the peace must come from the opposite side of the line, a steak bone of not enough information given, to make sound remarks. What is a peacemaker someone that tries to make not only peace with their neighbor but with theirself also. Meaning you must be at peace with yourself to make good solid peace with others. Now with God he is author of peace, so he first must be consulted about spiritual peace between you and him. He took care of it through his Son Jesus Christ, by allowing him to come in peace and allowing us to betray him. Allowing him to die on the cross for our sin and the world's sin and then being resurrected. With faith and receiving Christ as Lord and Savior we are now called peacemakers. Our first peace treaty is with God, the second peace treaty comes with those around us as they too receive Christ or do not. Your peace with someone else is now reflection of peace with others. No one is at perfect peace with everyone around them. The one person you are never at peace with is the devil In fact that is a long term war that ends when Christ cast him into the fiery pit called hell. People in general want peace. Homosexuals want peace to walk down the street where they live which is possible, but thieves want to steal, of course that can not happen in polite society by society rules of crime. See the difference of being at peace. One is social law, one is a protection law. Does someone's sexuality affect us in our world, only if it cause one to sin, or our children to sin against God.

Our individual ability to be peaceful about someone else's sin that effects us in no way other then to know God is not pleased with ourselves if we do those things, is only a demonstration of our ability to be self control about someone else's sin. Or do we do as ministers do an preach hell fire against sin that affects one's relationship with God according to scripture. To avoid the topic is sin too. Then first lets look at our own closet and see what sin lurks and remains in their before we point the finger on sin, no that does not work either. Fact the way to handle it is say it sin, but I sin too. All sin leads to hell, but the blood Christ covers all sin, but once forgiven we must turn our life over to Christ to clean all sin from our life. We must first learn to recognize sin as sin to be cleansed of it. Until stage one happens their is no peace with ourselves on the issue of any sin. God is not pleased with sin before or after salvation. As believers we are called to walk in perfection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and yet we still sin. God gave us the power to overcome sin, then why are believers not exercising their faith and walking in the perfection of Christ. It is more complicated then that. Each us are individuals growing in Christ. Each of us have stumbling blocks in our life called sin. It those things not so easily given up. Somethings not so easily uncovered, somethings must be dug up in order to get free of it.

Once the sin that is hidden is dug and forgiven, then the rest of the pile begins to slowly dissolve, and the reason being the one thing hidden was the one that caused other sin to remain in one's life. We live in the guilt of sin, but not getting rid of it even when we leave it at the cross of Christ. We pick it up and put the wedge between ourselves and God. Is that wedge between you and someone else picked up. It saying this sin is okay because it feels right. No sin never felt right, it is that human rebellion that says I doing a no no and it feels right but in truth it does not way down deep inside, otherwise why did you bring your no no up and boast about it. Why did you bring the sin up if you have not repented. What ego are you feeding. What ego are you pardoning and saying it okay.

It does n't matter the sin. Think for a moment how many teens drink before old enough to drink and how often do they boast to their friends of a wild party. Let us not forget the teen that boast of sexual immorality. What about the adult that boast of sin or nature of sin that is plaguing them like yesterday news. Bragging as if to say it okay if I do it I do not follow your God or his laws for healthy living. What were God's laws for the gentiles. The gentile Christian church were given one law to honor God and not to worship any other God. Where does it put sin by the Jewish traditions, right out the door. The legal laws of Old Testament stop at the first law. The peace is all other sin is between you and God, and not everyone else. Here the thing if God calls us to be holy, we need to be seeking God on the issue of his holiness, and how it pertains to our life. Our sin is covered by the blood of Jesus, but does it mean we keep sinning. Does it mean we keep war going between ourselves and God on anything in our life he disapproves of, if it individual sin.

When minister preach on sin, they do not always list the sin in some churches. Instead they leave it to the Holy Spirit to convicted all unrighteousness right out of the pews. You can not expect a church to justify your sin. You can not expect a minister to justify sin either. Sin even in their own life is sin. The peacemaker of God says turn the person over to God and leave it in God's hands. After all we are but a piece of clay being molded into his image. Are we not clay molded into his likeness. Are we not clay molded into the perfection for the God's use. A tool that might be scarred in life, but not tool without forgiveness. Vessels of the Lord for his ministry. Peace with those in opposition that do obey society rules and laws. Peace why because even when society rules break God's rules of our personal life, we discover that God gives each of us standards to live by when we hear and obey the Spirit of God by studying God's word, through following in Christ footsteps as children of God and also listening to the Holy Spirit. What will you have to give up for God that is between you and God.

Dear Heavenly Father help us to be peacemakers and not war horses of hate, but to show peace and love as Christ did. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study for Devotion:James 3:15-18 KJV
15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.
16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.
17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.
