turtle30cshell Daily Devotions For September 14, 2019
Go In Peace
9/14/2019

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Mark 5:25-34 KJV
25 And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years,
26 And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse,
27 When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.
28 For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.
29 And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.
30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?
31 And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?
32 And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing.
33 But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.
34 And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.

To have enough to believe that touching the hem of the garment of Christ would be enough to heal you. One must first realize that the woman was consider unclean by her menstrual cycle. Despite menstrual cycle was for purification that the body naturally does monthly, it was consider unclean. Despite it comes from the womb of the woman where babies are stored til the time of their birth, she is consider unclean. The culture seeing the woman having a problem for twelve years consider her outcast by the priesthood/doctors of the time. The idea of this pure man garment hem being touched would cause him to be unclean in the priesthood, yet it matter not to this woman of twelve years of severe bleeding. She knew this was her only hope. She had heard of the power of Christ. She knew perhaps maybe if she could go undetected and just touch the hem, maybe God would have mercy and heal her. She believed Jesus could heal her, it was not a question of would but being close enough to touch him. Close enough to reach out in faith risking the inpurification of this man.

As soon as the woman touch his garment, she was healed, and Jesus turned and said who touched me, because he felt the healing from his body leave him. His disciples were like so many are around you and you want to know who touched you. Jesus knew who touched him, he search for her in the crowd. The woman was afraid and came trembling before him and bowed before him and told him the truth of why she had touched him. He said "thy faith had made thee whole; go in peace and be whole of thy plague". Jesus honor this woman despite the culture or what those in the crowd would of thought of her and add traditions and culture in to the mix. It matter not who it was, she was in need of healing and had faith to try and grab hold of the healing on her own, not realize he would know. He knew she had touched him. He knew he made her whole and it mattered to him. She was not outcast in his eyes, but a woman in need of healing.

Can you imagine not has a woman but just one needing healing and having enough faith to just reach out to grab hold of your own healing because the man their had power to heal. Most perhaps would try it at least once if afflicted by some illness, or disability, to grab a hold of their own healing if it were at all possible to just touch the hem with faith. She confessed to her healer, because she could not touch and be healed without him knowing it. She had not wanted to bother him, or disturb what he was doing. She did not want to be inconvience, but just to be healed. She knew enough to have faith in Jesus. To believe he had the power and to just touch the hem. Jesus telling his disciples how he knew someone was healed, wanted this woman to testify to the crowd. No I think he wanted to speak to her about her faith. To tell it was okay, not to be ashamed of her need to be heal. Not to be ashamed she touched him, but to rejoice that her faith had healed her, That He himself had healed her. To know it was nothing to hide, but to rejoice. Not just to rejoice but to go in peace. To go on back to living life to fullest. To no longer be ashamed of her situation.

Jesus is not a respecter of person when it comes to healing, yet most of us never are able to get to point of faith that reaching up is just enough, or to reach out and grab the garment of Christ in faith. What I mean is to sit and pray for ourselves, to reach up to heaven and seek God for the solution. When it comes to ourselves it harder to pray for, because simply we knows his ability and his power. We see in the lives of others, but can we ask for ourselves. Can we just believe Jesus will do it. Even with being healed myself on more then one occassion, and I still tend not to reach up and grab a hold of healing. What if God says his timing not now, is my reaching up a lack of faith, no the answer is not now. The man born crippled trying to get to the pool, but already enough faith to be at the pool. The man born blind having faith but it was fifty years before his healing. Sarah heart healed with the birth of a son at age 90, and Elizabeth in old age too. Faith and hope is more then just the hem, but the timing being right. Twelve years is a long time to wait for healing, but God knows why. The woman believe it was possible, but did not want to bother God anymore just to touch his Son's garment with faith. I heard stories of people being healed, and they just kept claiming it daily, reaching upward in faith that God was going to heal, and daily healing took place, but it was not all at once. As I sit with a sprained/strained ankle I am able to walk still on it, I know myself, healing will come, any doctor will tell you that, but the miracle is often better, the instant healing only God can do. That instant healing is what we all long for when we have an ouchy that makes us say a few words we should not. That bruised finger because one missed the nail, or the stubbed toe that seems to feel worse with time. What about heart attack or cancer diagnoises, how quick is one to reach up.

When I went through cancer a peace came in the storm that it would be okay. Yet it did not mean a storm would not come with ice pellets, or lightening bolts and tornent winds, but it came and went as any storm in life. No instant healing came, but God was in control of the situation Sometimes it not enough to reach up, but it about trusting God to help us through the storm. I have been through to many storms to know God does not always heal instantly but he can. I know God does not always heal instantly but there times he does. God knows why we go through certain storms in life and for how long. Without God the healing may never come. We only need a mustard seed of faith for healing. We only need a mustard seed of faith to see mountains in our life moved. We only need a mustard seed of faith to be forgiven of sin. Yet we must turn away from sin, or what value does I am sorry have. To get rid of some sin is instant in our life, and other things might take years to get rid of, but forgiveness is instant. Healing is much the same way, it might take years of faith and it might be that instant healing. I glad scripture tells how long these men and women suffered. It is important, because they had faith despite not being healed. They had faith to reach up with hope touching the hem of the garment of Jesus, some just crying out.

Jesus telling the woman to go in peace was like do not allow those people around you to chastise you for touching my robe. Do not be ashame of how God choose to heal you. If you had to pour heart to get the healed then pour out your heart. Maybe the world around you will understand and forgive that pouring out your heart brought the healing with the memories of why things happened. The old devil would like you to believe you are unworthy to be healed, to be unworthy to have victory in the storm in life, to be unworthy to touch the hem of Christ garment, to feel unworthy to grab the virtue leaving Christ body for healing. Twelve years is a long time to wait, but not without hope, because she came with faith. How she arrived at that faith is not told. Yet she sought her Lord for healing. Pray for yourself, and ask others to pray too. We need to pray for ourselves. It okay to put yourself in the hands of God for his will to be done. This woman in the story was healed by the will of God.

Dear Heavenly Father has pray right now for your healing and grace in the lives of all that read, we ask for miracle as well as the process healing that will make each of us whole in our heart with you, as well as any physical healing one might need. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
