To Spread

Daily Devotions: by Christina Farris

Ephesians 6:17-20 KJV
(17) And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
(18) Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
(19) And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,
(20) For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

To spread the Gospel is not to take it without the power of the Spirit of God. You can share anything without conviction, but in truth beyond psychological knowledge of dealing with people, you are still unable to convict the true heart of man. Conviction of God comes from the heart and the soul of man where spiritual decision are made beyond the emotional mindset of control. Anyone can make anyone feel guilty with the right combination of psychological warfare, but it is the only the Holy Spirit that can convict the heart of man that he send against a living powerful awesome God. The need for repentance can not come without the Spirit.

If one learns to walk by the Spirit of God through faith one will learn to minister as God directs and the sword of the word of God will convict the sinner. Our prayer life needs to be such that we say Lord use me to spread your word. To share the love of Christ and the hope of eternity upon belief and repentance of sin. Paul desired the utterance of the Gospel, and not the mimicry of the Spirit. To speak with the Spirit the word with languages those around will understand and listen.

Dear Heavenly Father give us the boldness to speak the Gospel and may your word go marching on in truth. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Romans 15:29-31 KJV
(29) And I am sure that, when I come unto you, I shall come in the fulness of the blessing of the gospel of Christ.
(30) Now I beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Jesus Christ's sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in your prayers to God for me;
(31) That I may be delivered from them that do not believe in Judaea; and that my service which I have for Jerusalem may be accepted of the saints;
