The Rescue: Lesson 28 10/28/2021
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisRomans 5:1-21 KJV
1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope:
5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
11 And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.
12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
13 (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.
14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.
15 But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.
16 And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.
17 For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.
19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
20 Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:
21 That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.
With faith we are justified and because we are justified we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. The sin of one man. The evilness of one person caused man to fall, and the obedience of one man through his death gave all that believed eternal life. Does it seem fair that one should have to pay the price for humanity's sin against God. Then we have to understand that God took his Word, allowed him to be nailed to the cross and allowed him to see the grave before raising his word back up. Did God sacrifice his own word, that his mercy could be given through grace that we may have eternal life, because Jesus obey God to through the cross. His cross because of sin of the world, the sin of cleansing the temple of the band of thieves. The cross of not causing another death, but paying the price of one killing during the event by another. Some thought the Messiah would come as a warrior and by force. Christ came in a manner unfamiliar to those that were of law of faith and religious order. He came through the country of Israel and surrounding territories as a man of peace and righteousness. Healing the sick, lame, the blind, deaf and the sinner. He came teaching and preaching to the world and born into the world by the will of God and not the will and lust of man and woman. He came to a world that received him not to world that was longing for him, but understood not his purpose to come in the form of redeemption to man. The war with God had to do with obedience to God from the begining in the garden. Was God doing away with the war of obedience, no the war that caused the separation. We still need to obey God, why if we are covered by the blood of Jesus, then why is obedience still important, because demonstration of our love for Jesus, and it is also our protection until our death. God's house was not to be a house of thieves or a den of robbers. Doesn't matter how you say it. Yet wolves and thieves still come to God's house. Paul even said he rather steal from the church then those he helped. Now that was not his exact words but what he meant was he rather take from the church for any need he had on his journey as missionary then to have to ask from the world for a dime or to appear that God did not provide perhaps(opinion). Yet God's provision even comes through the people not of God, because even Paul recognized people even not of the same faith would help him. Even Christ ate with sinners. Even Christ talked to sinners and people not of the Jewish faith. Then why was the temple cleansed, because the temple was not for not for an individual to make a profit. There are churches today that run off the ministers making profit for what they call the work of God and in truth what they did was not for God but the devil and his greed.
Tribulation worketh patience and we know we are saved from the wrath of God through the blood of Jesus. Now we have to understand what is the wrath of God. Are we standing in the middle of storm and not harmed, are we standing in danger and not consumed by it. Does not mean we tempt God, but face what in our way or coming head on in our direction perhaps. God's wrath or harm from humanity? We must look at the situation and ask did the world harm us, or did God. Is what coming or came, from God or man. If the answer is man, then we can understand that man has power to harm except for what the law of man/government prevents, Man does break the law to destroy and even kill God's people. Christ in the flesh even died at the hand of man, by the will of God, but man could not keep Jesus in the grave, nor keep him from receiving his transformation into a glorious king, who rose in victory from the dark domain, nor stop his word or his Spirit from changing lives. Set the captives free from God's wrath, that believed.
If we can understand our tribulation is not necessary from God, but from enemies of God. If we can understand that God has power over a storm, but he is not in the storm, as Elijah understood it. The fear Elijah felt from the decreed to kill God's prophet from Jezebel rang out, only cause Elijah to flee to Mount Horeb where God showed him the storm was not of him. The storm that was coming would not harm Elijah, but God presence in his still small voice was there. Elijah the prophet would come off the Mountain to face the prophets of Baal in battle to see whose god Elijah or Baal would light the fire of their altar. Paul would face many obstacles in his journey, from beatings, stoning, and imprisonment, only to recognize the tribulation was not from God but caused by the enemy. Yet Paul when the people of God surrounded him after he was stone, He rose to walk to the next town. Is the tribulation from God or man. The enemy Of God or did the stoning come from God is the question.
We are not at war with God as a believer in Christ, so the pain and suffering we feel is from man, unless God is trying to teach us something. Can we make peace with the devil. I suspect not, because he is always in option with God. Yet if the war be with humans then there is a chance option can be brought to peace. However God took the barrier away between man and himself when he sent his only begotten Son to take away the sins of the world if one would only believe. Who are we blaming for our trouble, for our obstacles in life. Some obstacles are, our own design, and some obstacles by man, by bullies and by the devil. Make sure you know who the problem coming from. Make sure you know where the trouble comes from.
Know that God grace reigns where sin abounds. For we are saved by grace and not by works. Our righteousness comes through faith in Jesus Christ our Lord. Our fruit is our learned obedience to God's Spirit despite what mankind will do to us, with the lively hope of faith we know we are saved from the wrath of God which is far worse then anything mankind or the devil can unleash on us. The devil has no authority in a believers life so resist temptation, and the enemy the devil will flee. Love your enemies has God loved you before mercy was bestowed on your life upon salvation. God does correct his children, but he knows how to love when he does it, just like good parents do. He knows what going to keep them inline, without causing harm.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for saving the world from your wrath to come with only one condition of faith in your Son and you, that whosever believeth would be saved. Thank you for your promise of if we believe that your children would be spared from your wrath. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
Continual Scripture Study: Romans 10:1-13 KJV
1 Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.
2 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.
3 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.
4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
5 For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them.
6 But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:)
7 Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.)
8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
1 Corinthians 10:33 KJV
33 Even as I please all men in all things, not seeking mine own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.
