The Rescue: Lesson 14 10/14/2021
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisIsaiah 56:1-5 KJV
1 Thus saith the LORD, Keep ye judgment, and do justice: for my salvation is near to come, and my righteousness to be revealed.
2 Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it; that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil.
3 Neither let the son of the stranger, that hath joined himself to the LORD, speak, saying, The LORD hath utterly separated me from his people: neither let the eunuch say, Behold, I am a dry tree.
4 For thus saith the LORD unto the eunuchs that keep my sabbaths, and choose the things that please me, and take hold of my covenant;
5 Even unto them will I give in mine house and within my walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off.
I sometimes wonder where I am going when I write, and then God shows me a particular passage and I say yes this is the right direction today. I speak of Eunuchs and Christ's view of not concerning about their sexuality and so forth, but more concerned with their heart matter. Eunuchs were usually men in the kings haram, or took care of the concumbines in the day of kings and queens in scripture and in some place probably still today. Some were castrated by choice and others by force. Whatever the reason, these things matter not to God. Their sexuality not influenced in the matters of heart toward God and their actions going in line with attention to the sabbath and the laws of God.
We can get in a position that only one's holy is those living in this holier then though attitude, but even that needs checking by God's Spirit, because the truth is no one is without sin, but our covering of the blood of Christ purifies us from all sin. Does it mean this life style is okay? One would be better to ask why one is choosing to be Eunuch, is it medical reason, emotional reason, a desire to be celibate, perhaps one is doing so because they love the same sex as themselves. Not all Eunuch's were homosexuals. We got to define the life style, the code of worship. We have to say even to ourselves are we truly following God. Are we humble ourselves before the lord, as any person entering the sanctuary of God should be. Then one examine those different from themselves and ask do they worship God and enter his courts with thanksgiving. It not for us to judge, but we must examine this issue, because it is in the world to stay. Even before the law. The life style came from the nations not of God. Paul may explain in best in Romans 1 when he talks about the fact people loved God's creation more then the Creator. We have to define if God then turned those nations, groups of people over to their sin, did it ever mean they could not repent. Is it Adam and Eve all over again.
Sexual art of some should be label disguisting and abonimation, it certainly was by God and even in his laws. However we have to ask what was God purpose of created man and woman, but one for woman to be a help mate to her spouse and to one day produce offspring. So anything beyond God's original plan is opposition to God? Will to understand where the original sin comes from and how it is in our world today not necessarily by these same belief systems we have to ask, is it sin from our nation people are homosexuals, or do we say it is because of sin in their family, or lust of their own eyes. Understanding God is not pleased with any sin, sexual immorality, lust of the eye, greed, envy, jealousy, anger, evil and so forth, then are we all under the condition of sin before we are saved. However we told not to continue in sin. I never been a homosexual, but I can say I have sinned. If just one sin is wrong in God's view because it was not the plan he had for your or me, then we still in breakage of God's plan.
Anger is an emotion how we use it determines whether it causes us to sin. Moses anger caused him to kill when he came off the mountain after talking to God, when he found the Israelites worshipping the calf. Which crime worse worship of the calf or the killing. He killed only those that were not going to stand with God's people and continue in the sin of idolatry. God many times when Israel as a nation sin faced God's punishment after that and not Moses. Was God gentler, not necessarily, but the guilt of murder was no longer on Moses or the people afterwards, God's wrath being justified by the people with understanding what was done was wrong in the wilderness.
The laws in the temple provoke knowledge of sin against God and his original plan for man, but when it comes to reality, sin was cast out of the nation of Israel in the wilderness, and not in the palace. Why was sin allowed in the palace and not on the road in the wilderness. God was teaching his people to be holy. God talked to Solomon about his sin with so many wives. David punished because of Bathsheba, maybe should of been punished for Abigal, but was not. Nabal was a wicked man. Love conquered the wrong even when it was still wrong.
If we can understand laws tell us that we are so far from God's original desire for us, and we can learn to follow his Son Jesus, and walk by his Spirit then we can understand that evil can be conquered. Evil ways are what God wants rid of. Everything abonimation to God that has to do with idolatry. However love is more important and substaining from evil intent is just as important to God.
God's grace is applied even to the harlot Rehab. Grace applied and she was protected. Could Solomon or his wives be protected by their idolatry, wives not unless repentance ever came, and to Solomon unless repentance came and doing away with the idolatry and purging the land of it. Has our own nation deals with its own Idolatry, we have to ask ourselves are we not living as in the time of Rome and not in a necessarily Christian world. Then our hope is for Christ to return to restore the true faith in him alone. That our hope as believers as that our world will choose good over evil ways. That world and our nation with seek truth and not the lies of the devil.
Dear Heavenly Father, help us to love others as we want to be loved, not always we are loved by others. Help us to follow in your grace and compassion for the world. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
Continual Scripture Study: Leviticus 18:1-5 KJV
1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, I am the LORD your God.
3 After the doings of the land of Egypt, wherein ye dwelt, shall ye not do: and after the doings of the land of Canaan, whither I bring you, shall ye not do: neither shall ye walk in their ordinances.
4 Ye shall do my judgments, and keep mine ordinances, to walk therein: I am the LORD your God.
5 Ye shall therefore keep my statutes, and my judgments: which if a man do, he shall live in them: I am the LORD.
Leviticus 18:22-30 KJV
22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.
23 Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it is confusion.
24 Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you:
25 And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants.
26 Ye shall therefore keep my statutes and my judgments, and shall not commit any of these abominations; neither any of your own nation, nor any stranger that sojourneth among you:
27 (For all these abominations have the men of the land done, which were before you, and the land is defiled;)
28 That the land spue not you out also, when ye defile it, as it spued out the nations that were before you.
29 For whosoever shall commit any of these abominations, even the souls that commit them shall be cut off from among their people.
30 Therefore shall ye keep mine ordinance, that ye commit not any one of these abominable customs, which were committed before you, and that ye defile not yourselves therein: I am the LORD your God.
