The Rescue: Lesson 13
10/13/2021

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Romans 3:19-31 KJV
19 Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.
20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.
28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.
29 Is he the God of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also:
30 Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith.
31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.

If all have sinned and fallen short then who is worthy to be a child of God. Not anyone. If the law proves sin, despite whether we obey it or not, it only defines sin. If the law of Moses did nothing more then prove sin still occurred with the law, willfully, unwillfully, accidently, and even without knowledge of the law. We can get so angry will tressgressor of the law we fail to see our own transgression of anger. Yet it still remains sin according to the law, despite whether it obeyed or not. However there one law that can not be broken one received with sincerity of the heart and that the law of faith in Christ Jesus. Once we covered by his blood it can not be undone.

I want to write for a moment about the blood covering before the law came to be for the children of Israel. First came the blood covering in Egypt when they put the blood around the door post. Anyone on that inside of the door first born were saved. How many none Israelites were there. Will considering the Hebrew(Israelites) people left out of the land of Egypt with others people coming with them, I suspect quite a few. What is the point of the law. What is the point of no longer being a law breaker but obeying the law once cleansed through the blood of Jesus. Why was the Hebrew people so ready to take the blood of the lamb and take the hyssop to paint it around the door post of their homes. I can't think the smell was not to pleasant in the least, or the flies so attractive that buzzed around the door post. It was the fear of God that caused Hebrew people to enter the doors post covered in blood including other people that came along as well into the wilderness.

The other day I was up town and I was paying to much attention to my phone when my husband and I past the building they were tearing down, though he mentioned it too me. It did not register in my head what he said. I missed seeing the building be torn down as we past it going up through the city and coming back down. The next day we go up and they still working on tearing down the building. I still did not pay any attention, when we went up again, but when we came back my eyes tried to focus on what it was seeing, another building torn down in the city. With seeing this I could only think, how did I miss the destruction the first time. My eyes could not grasp it because of changes in them where I am having trouble seeing. My focus off a little, but not bad, but enough that my brain was trying to wrap around what I was seeing and what my husband had said and the destruction concerning the reason it was being tore down. I wonder how many plagues had the Israelites and others watch pass by only when Moses said the only protection would be if you put the blood of the lamb around the door post would you be protected from the death angel, that they did so out of fear. The last plague of Egypt as the Pharoah said once more I will not let God's people go. All kinds of people gather their possessions to go into the wilderness the next day and they went right out of Egypt. It took six plagues for Israel to know they better obey God. How many times do you have to hear a building being torn down for it to register a building being torn down. Or how many times does someone have to scream fire to bring someone to action. Shock, bewildernment stunts are response, but without action no one will be saved. Without going around the baracade where the building was falling, one would surely be hit by falling concret. Do we heed God's warning?

How many buildings are about to fall in our nation, to grasp the death toll in our nation has effected American economy and to build back better, is only as real as the next economic recession to econmic depression, because prices go up but the number of sales decrease. The amount needed by the people has changed so much it effect everything. Yet the warnings are there, but no one hears that it is effecting people because everyone just happy to be working, with some having better wages and others not. Some even going and living in tiny house, buses and so forth because it is more economical living for some people. Economics for some areas change with the seasons, like college towns and hospital. Some more busy and some less, yet the world still moves forward, with no reality of the change until it smacks a person in the face and they look at the stores shelves and they are empty all the time. A person can not find certain spices that they once used and it not a seasonal spice. Changes because of pandemic is clear all over the world, yet people adjust in time.

The point being the world is still fueling the changes, and those who thought they might get ahead only get behind by the price changes and increases, so big business does not loose any profit, but the little people do. Where does it end. I tell you where it ends when it our turn to go home to be with the Lord. We will deal with all things that effect us through out the ages. Mankind continues on despite what occurs around them. Some will starve, some will prosper, and others will get by, because it the way of the world. The law of man is no different. The law of man rules until God decides to step in and/or we ask in prayer for his deliverance, trusting in his mercy and grace in our life. That where the law of faith comes in. Faith first in God and in Christ Jesus. Then learning to walk by his Spirit, praying in tuned to his Spirit and his will for our life. Jesus obeyed the law of man, the angels could rescued him off the cross, or he could of set himself free at any point, but he did not. He suffered how we must against the rules of the world we are in, and yet he showed us there was hope beyond the grave through faith in him.

Did faith ever change, and did obedience to God's word ever change. Without going into the door of the house with blood around the post and staying the first born would die. Without Christ obedience to his Father first and the law of man second, Jesus could not redeem us through his blood without obeying his Father first and man second. Through his blood we are made clean like the whiteness of snow the cleans the air as it pours down. We are purged from our sin, and made into a new creation, where the old is gone and the new has come.

I mentioned the other day how the laws of homosexuality had changed in our land, was not helping our nation from being defiled, and also mentioned that love had to be applied even in this situation concerning Gay marriages. Then at the end I post Romans 1 and the final verse of that chapter where God turned man over to his lust of his flesh meaning men desiring men as they would woman and vise versa. Then I also wrote how King Saul did not seek God, God's way. Now let me ask a question is law in our land man's or God's. Let me ask if the laws of God from the begining when God designed woman for man still the law of God? Now let me ask one more question, did Jesus or God judge any Eunuch for his choice or non choice of his situation? Did God create an Aphrodite? Did God created all mankind disabled or able. Did God put these situations out there to teach us to love each other despite others decisions and choices. Not everyone choose to marry. Now everyone choose one spouse. Not everyone choose the laws designed by God, but the one law of faith must be applied to be saved. And when the law of love is applied instead of the law of unloving, and unkind, the great knowledge of what love is, comes to light. It like a hotpad with to many holes will burn the hand, but one with no holes or small tenny tiny holes will not. To have love there is no burning or searing of the human mind with hate or evil.

Can we look at the sin of man and say by the laws of man it is wrong, and not always the laws of God and apply it to the relationship with God. Can we separate the two, and recognize the law of God does cross over into man's law on more then one occasion. Jesus was quick to point out to the religious leaders when they question the why his disciples picked corn on the Sabbath to ask was it lawful for David to eat the shewbread designed to be eaten by the Priesthood? It may seem Jesus was in opposition of the laws of God until we began to understand that man laws are ruling man, because man desired to be ruled by a king and not God. God gave man a king that man even today still rejects. Yet as a believer we receive Jesus Christ as coming King, King and Lord of our heart, soul and mind. The division, if receive Christ laws and follow the Spirit is there a chance we will still pay the consequences for the law of man? Jesus obey the law of God and still paid the price of man's laws?

There are groups that try and put trangenders with partners of the opposite bioliogical sex when possible. Some of them have found that helps those that are homosexuals. No it does not always work. However it changing the way people preceive these people when they get matched as a couple with someone of the opposit sex. There is point when a believer recognized God's way or man's way, life of individual changes because of faith. the law of man is the only thing that might prevent another from breaking a law of man, and not necessarily the law of God. This is hot topic of discussion, but Usually I care not to argue this point, because man is going to do what man wants to whether there is a consquence for it or not. However as a believer and choosing to do things God's way, even praying his way, it can come to a point of knowledge and not a point of knowledge. Some one that disagrees will say how can you even have this line or issue if you believe love is the only thing that matters. It is because changing God's design never worked for anyone. The biggest design flaw in the world is the atomic and nuclear weapon of destruction. The earth is not meant for destruction by man only God. Yet man still fires weapons of destruction, instead of trying to build people up and change anger to love.

Let us look not at the world's sin but our own sin, change ourselves, no allow God to change us as we believe in Christ and strive to do it God's way and not way of destruction, but the way of love. Choosing not the way of evil which is destructive. Choose to hate because of someone is disabled you have no compassion, one day you might be the one disabled. Color of skin has the same battles. Somethings are just pure mean and the way of the devil. Think about yourself. Examine yourself. Dont declare love while hating. Unless you can love like God can and forgive like God can, then have you not still fallen short of the glory of God?

Where are you this morning when it comes to love and compassion for others. If faith is the first step to becoming a believer, how much love did God have for you despite your sin? How much love can you mustard, not your strength but the strength that God will provide for you?

Dear Heavenly Father, you demonstrate more love then most people can handle and follow in. Help us to love others even when others use us, abuse us and care nothing about us and judge our mistakes. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: Matthew 5:43-48 KJV
43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?
48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
