The Rescue: Lesson 12
10/12/2021

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Leviticus 19:31-37 KJV
31 Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God.
32 Thou shalt rise up before the hoary head, and honour the face of the old man, and fear thy God: I am the LORD.
33 And if a stranger sojourn with thee in your land, ye shall not vex him.
34 But the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.
35 Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment, in meteyard, in weight, or in measure.
36 Just balances, just weights, a just ephah, and a just hin, shall ye have: I am the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt.
37 Therefore shall ye observe all my statutes, and all my judgments, and do them: I am the LORD.

Christ obeyed the law even when came to the gentiles in the land of Jerusalem and surrounding territories. Christ love of the gentile nation maybe one of the things that cause the priesthood so much dislike of him. For he ate with the sinners, and talked with them. However Christ never did the sin of the gentile nations by worship another god, or gods. God sets a standard for his people. He sets a standard for his people not to seek familiar spirits and or wizards. Not to seek idolatry or those in leadership of Idolatry. Our nation it is diversity has done thee things, but as a nation we also are free to be individuals and there many who have not bowed their knees to Baal/devil, or another god. If our nation calls us to pray, then we pray to our God and not the gods of our nation. We use our freedom to segregate from other religions. Welcoming any to come and learn of our God and our Savior Jesus Christ. We do what to treat those different then us as if they are born into our nation because we too maybe strangers in another land. How different then our worlds today as we collide with different culture adapting cultures with no real culture of our own, uniting in things we enjoy and love about each other, only to realize every culture and group of people are as diverse in beliefs, ideas, and school of thought as the next.

Israel culture and the areas around them that wanting nothing but peace were always working toward a culture of unity without God or God always being in leadership over the nations of the world. God never said to lay your faith down, or to set aside your religious traditions. He said to treat people as you would want to be treated if you in their land or culture. Set the example of love despite the differences being often times faith. Not to embrace their faith, after all did not the king build houses for his queens of different faiths and cultures. Yet God instructed the kings first not to marry woman of other religions? Why because by doing so they were breeding children of dual religions, idolatry and bring idolatry into their culture. Solomon participated in idolatry.

The passage in scripture is taken from the Leviticus a book of laws. Important to note that they laws would be spoken when Israel came out of exile, would spoken to the kings and queens of the land of Israel. The people would be raised knowing the law whether they did them or not. The levitical/laws of Moses were important to the people in order to obey God. These laws still apply to most even our culture today, though some laws have been changed because of society and laws to protect different people and cultures in our society. Those laws changed may not be of God, but it a part of culture not under the rules of God any longer. We must separate spiritual laws from legal laws.

When gay marriage laws came into rule in our own land, it defile the nation, and yet it also established a group of people different then ourselves to live by our laws and not in disobedience to our culture or standards, allowing them their culture, their desires and what they consider is freedom. If you go into a group of people that believe the Bible is God's word and try and bring the law of culture into it, there is going to be opposition. The question is does that opposition allowed by our laws. If there is freedom of religion then as long as on the outside of our churches and homes we are not in violation of another freedom, then we are not in violation of the law of our land or laws in scripture. However to follow one part of the law and not the other we are making ourselves look like either we fear not our God, or we are defining faith differently then God.

If God is not against us living among the heathens or among different cultures, why then is the world in such discord. Not all religions agree with God's law of love. Loving others and treating others as we would want to be treated. Not all culture desire peace with those in opposition to their thinking. Islam in some countries will not accept another to freely worship in their country. Even some other cultures are much that same way. No one can seem to see that true freedom of faith is allowing one to worship God with their heart, mind and soul, and obeying the truth of receiving others as part of the world, even when they are different. Let us not defile ourselves with the sin of another culture, but let us love as we would desire to be loved. Let us not be participants in the sin of life, but receive them as humans and fellow neighbors, family members and even friends of our world. Even the devil is in God's word to one day not be. Until that time he roams the earth.

Dear Heavenly Father help us to love those different then ourselves and live unto you in faith, purpose and your will in our life to obey you in truth and love. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: Romans 1:17-32 KJV
17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
