The Rescue: Lesson 7 10/07/2021
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisHebrews 10:16-39 KJV
16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.
19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,
20 By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;
21 And having an high priest over the house of God;
22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.
23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
28 He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
30 For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.
31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
32 But call to remembrance the former days, in which, after ye were illuminated, ye endured a great fight of afflictions;
33 Partly, whilst ye were made a gazingstock both by reproaches and afflictions; and partly, whilst ye became companions of them that were so used.
34 For ye had compassion of me in my bonds, and took joyfully the spoiling of your goods, knowing in yourselves that ye have in heaven a better and an enduring substance.
35 Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.
36 For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.
37 For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.
38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.
39 But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.
The world being has it is, always changing and our life changing. This past month a little kitten been taken our home by storm. This morning found him playing with a toe sock. a toe sock is a little piece of rubber for the toe to keep it separated from another toe that it rubbing against. Anyway this toe sock is not quite completely clear, but with my eyes I could not see what the kitten was playing with. I reach down picked up where I hope was the object and almost screamed because of how it felt, til I realized what it was. It feels like plastic fishing worm. Kitten tends to get into everything. Somethings you just take object away from him, and other things you kind of fuss at him over something so he learns if you fussing he better quit doing what he doing. Like clawing a curtain, or knocking things off a shelf. Mongo(cat) is the overbearing father figure in the kitten life. If the kitten is to close he is growling hissing at the little kitten, and if Gizzy(dog) is the over protective mother figure in the kitten life. If mongo is complaining that dog gets in the middle and says what going on here. All Mongo is trying to do is teach the kitten social distancing rules. How much parents,teachers and other adults in children lives trying to instill proper behavior. Despite that the kitten has four parents, it seems to have come to the conclusion to ignore us all.
Our world is very much our own, until we have a standard or set of rules to follow. Yet without the law, there is still laws that are followed, because without a form of law there is nothing but chaos, and an eye for eye and tooth for a tooth til there is no left in the world. Even governments have rules of negotiation between them, to enable no one is taken advantage of, yet I can assure each try to out do the other. Despite how good anyone is to follow any legal system, or code of ethics these things are broken from time to time. If we live by the devil rules, we do exactly what we want and when we want despite the care and needs of the world in which we live. If we live for God we have compassion for ourselves, others, and worship God. God made man not of the garden of Eden, and yet placed him there to tend the garden. Rules not understood beyond God said it. Then Adam and Eve is placed on earth in a place outside the garden, but never said if it where Adam was from or not orignally, but most assume it was. Next Jesus comes to take away the sins of the world, and to go and prepare a place for man to dwell, for paradise is not the place where Adam and Eve could live without sinning. They were designed with the idea of free will. Hell being a place where sinners go that not a place designed for man but for devil and his angels.
This Jesus is preparing for us, is a place called the New Jerusalem. If we look at the laws of Moses to now, we see laws ever changing. Yet no one is without sin, and the cost of sin is death. If all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, then who is worthy of heaven not one person. Yet God is his love through the blood veil of his son, covers our sin. It is through the veil that Christ comes into our heart and life. His way, which is a new living way, a new covenant which is opposition to the evil ways of man enters the heart and soul of all believers. God cleans our heart out. Now there is no remission for sin.
What does remission mean? There is no more pardon or forgiveness for sin. Meaning you understand what God requires. Yet there is no more sacrifice either. God does judge his people. Yet when we ask him to forgive us he is just to do just that. God did not spare the children wilderness, Did not spare David from his punishment, how much more are we then responsible for the way we live and do. God has a will for our life, and yet how are we living out our life when following after the will of God. Then we realize it more then just our imperfection that the issue it the original sin of man that caused the fall of man, Sin would reign in our life because of free will. It like a kitten listen to two people. It knows what sin is by the tone of the voice, but until he choose to heed the voice it will sin. So two laws in our member, one is the law of God and the other is the law of free will. The law to worship and honor God. In the law comes (Roman 7 to mind) the wrestling of the spirit against the flesh, that if we obey the Spirit in Romans 8 we find we obey the law. Can we do the will of God in our life as Christ went to the cross doing the will of his Father, despite our will. We must learn to obey the Spirit in order to honor God and his holiness. His covenant with man.
Dear Heavenly Father help us to obey your Spirit in all truth, knowing Christ paid the price for our sin. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
Continual Scripture Study: Romans 3:19-31 KJV
19 Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.
20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.
28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.
29 Is he the God of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also:
30 Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith.
31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.
