The cuteness effect of Halloween can be seen in many toddlers costumes and even some adult costumes that we say what is the harm. What is the harm of a day of fright. For some people this is a day of evil worship, a day of great harm, to themselves and anyone else in their pathway. We ignore these ideas as things of the ancient world and say kids go trick or treating never thinking any harm comes until one finds poison, glass, needles and razor blades in bag of candy or candy themselves. We think who would do such a thing. Who would harm a innocent child wanting candy. Now with Cov 19 i almost wonder if halloween is not dead in the water because of social gathering laws, that restrict people from gathering. Then I think yeah people will watch the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown instead. Yet the reality of what this day means to some people is not the same to others. The fact that our nation tries to put this day as a celebration for all people is a question, should we not say no to it and forget this day of fright and glorification of evil pranks and deeds. Have we fail to teach our children truth about evil or evil spirits. The effects of evil, the reality of evil. Some use halloween to educate the kids in a fun way, but for others it has even a worse idea of satanic rituals the killing of humans, animals and anything living.

I will stop there for a moment because one thing you probably do not believe me, but do your own research in to the legends and history of Halloween. Most people never get past the costume contest or the horror show on tv. Yet are we really listening to what God says about evil and the things that are wrong in our land. Today passage tells a story of two men that came out of the grave with evil spirits that would not let anyone pass by into a local village. Jesus is known for his exorcisms. He known for casting out of devils even to those that are plaguing and scary people with harm if they come to close. These two possessed with demons came and talked to Jesus and asked Jesus not to cast them out, but to send them into the swine. When Jesus cast them into the swine the pigs went over the hill and drowned, ruining economics of the herdmen of the pigs. The herdsmen went and told the village. The village came out and talked to Jesus but now were more scared of Jesus then they were of two that had been possessed by demons.

Most think it just a story, not a reality, but the truth there are people possessed by demons and there are people that are control by evil. To be controlled by demons in the Bible it was to be controlled to do harm to oneself or others, to come out an attack oneself with cutting of flesh in pagan worship, to attacking of others without control to do anything but that. Some people believe it only mental illness, or wiring of the brain that causes harm. There are cases of mental illness and then there is cases of real demon possession. Truth we can not walk up and cast demons out of some people life because we have not prayed and fasted as Jesus did, but we have to know the devil only has the power God allows them to have, otherwise their kingdom is already destroyed, their kingdom to come is only a fire which destroy them.

Mary Madegalene was possessed by seven demons, she was a friend of Jesus that traveled with some of the woman that followed Jesus. Whether demons be actual sickness or spiritual force, we need to know it is not of God and we are not to play with it, but to cast it out in the name of Jesus, after prayer and fasting. That in Jesus name the demons must flee.

Dear Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus may your word go forth not to glorify evil, not to encourage demonic activity and to leave the evil alone because it belongs not in our world to come, or even in this world. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
