Scatter And The Blind Made Whole
10/13/2020

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

John 9:39-41 KJV
39 And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind.
40 And some of the Pharisees which were with him heard these words, and said unto him, Are we blind also?
41 Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth.

If you go to a club and go to dance, you may dance with many strangers but never socially really know these people beyond the dance floor. You may go camping with hundred people in a park and never know your neighbor name, but that he snores loudly. You may go to the grocery store and buy groceries with 100 people but never meet anyone you know. You may see a person struggling and make a judgment about a person needs, without ever really knowing if the need is meet, beyond it something you might need if in that situation. People tend to gather over the needs of others, based on common understand or bond. The need for socialization without knowing someone life story. They need for human contact despite the world being inside out and right side in. Yet if right is out and in the wrong side in, it alright. The communication need beyond not being judged by others just being with people for one purpose that has nothing to do with faith.

Blind man on the street corner in need of healing, but did anyone pray for him, Did anyone reach out until Jesus did, beyond placing a few coins in his cup. How long had the blind man been in need of healing. The religious leaders in the area question why a man was even born blind, because of his sin or his parents sin. The fact all sin all fall short and all are born into a sinful world. Yet not one religious leader tried to remove the blind man sin, or ask for this man's healing. Now when you get to the end of the chapter you read that Jesus said that those that now could see and those that could see are now blind. A change taking place right before the religious leaders eyes. They were not physically blind but were spiritual blind. They knew Moses was a prophet because of the miracles and signs and wonders, but they could not determine in their day what sort of man Jesus was, whether or God or a devil. They could not handle the miracle coming alive before them. It not that God was not real, it was they were blind to reality of God's ability in today's world.

People have gather for centuries over religion but if God does something for someone they want to question it, or verify the reality of it. I want to go back to the 11 chapter in Genesis at the time of the tower of Babel, man wanted to control his situation by creating a tower to God and to give a city or central location to keep the people from being scattered, and God see what they are doing and scatters them. God creates and design Israel that is a central location for his people, yet they are scattered abroad. God gives man the desire of their hearts but often it changes the way we look at life.

Since the pandemic social distance as changed things for many people. People don't speak as much as they use too or not to strangers. I am always happy to see a friendly face even if i really don't know them beyond where they work or association of some knowledge about them. Everyone knows when they meet a person that is not in their normal part of town in a small community. They not in their place of work but else where, and you might only know them from their location, not from where you run in to them, but they will often greet you as one does a friend. Those type of contacts will remain no doubt, because people in general care about those who take time to speak or be kind and polite. It is natural order of things and life. It even greater when you learn these people you meet share your faith in Christ. We might not attend the same church or same social group activities but immediately you are friends based on similiar view, idea, or discussion.

God sees the need of socialization but he also knows when the church world has become to set in their ways as the Pharisees and Saduccees of their day. When the world and communities no longer rejoice over miracles in a life of stranger, or the life of another believer, because of the skeptic world we live in and need for examining the evidence before them. When God scatters his people he has a reason. God has a reason when the church world mocks his healing power and no longer believes he can do the miracle today as he did yesterday in the time of the great prophets of old, and in the time of Christ.

Are we blind to the miracles in our own life looking for a medical reason or scientific reason something can happen. Are we blinded to retaining the miracles God does in our life, forget the benefits we receive from God. Sometimes division of people is good, it causes mankind to think on life in a positive way as they work, adjust to changes in our world. Most of us are probably use to these changes in our world after 10 months and others saying no not yet and never will be. Truth I hope mask wearing never become tradition, I hope it is something that will only remain with those that are il around us or those that no health issues, but need to take precaustions because they get sick easily.

Jesus did not come to judge but he judgment came to those that could see, because they refuse to believe the blind man was whole by the power of God and refused to worship and rejoice in the Lord. Separation because man desired to make an create something that was not necessarily of God, but to reach God. Man often reaching up to God, but never expecting the miracle, never truly receiving what God has to offer them. They were looking to their own ability to create the social world they desire not to separated from each other and God tore the social group down by separation. If we believe God is in control, then why are we reaching out to what we do not understand and to leaders not always with godly wisdom. Jesus standing before the people was a healer, and yet those pharisees had the power to pray for the blind man because they claim to know God, yet it did not happen. The man was healed so the work of God could be manifested in John 9:3. Jesus also declared he is the light of the world and to the Blind man he reveals he is Lord after the man that was healed was kicked out of the temple. He gave the man hope, but also told him to go and sin no more.

The two stories seem nothing in common, but there is, the kicking out of a blind man from the temple because of the miracle or because of sin, should be the question. What kind of life did the blind man lead, what about his parents, we do not know but Jesus told him to sin no more. The disciples of Jesus no longer welcome in the temple was the man healed of his blindness. The first people scatter all because they wanted to reach God on their own. The man reach God now by his power, but because Christ seen him and seen he was in need of healing. Jesus could not resist healing the man born blind. No doubt this man family had been sort of an outcast to society because of the man blindness, because they seen his blindness as sin, whether it was his parents or his they did not know, and perhaps shun both instead of praying for healing.

Man scatters by outcasting, man scatters because of sin or because of general moving to another town for another purpose, work or marriage comes to mind. Yet the reality, man is shunned once more because of his healing. Jesus looks and the religious leaders and wants to know whose blind, no he tells them they are blind because they can not see the work he does is of God. Yet the blind man had already stated that do you not believe in the work he does is of God, because no one can do the work of God without being his disciple. Pharisees are angry but I suspect there more then that, they called to minister to the unclean, a sinner, and never did. We fail if the world is ministering outside the church to those forsaken by the church. If the church outcast the sinner need of saving and understands the power of God has healed them.

Beware of why the churches may feel scattered today, is it because of sin, because of not doing the work of God not only within but outside, or is it because the control was not of God and the people were trying to control the church instead of allowing God to control the church. God's power is for today, through his people by the Holy Spirit just as in Christ day and Moses day. Let us not deny God's ability in our world today.

Dear Heavenly Father, blind or seeing, may you turn the water in our life so our focus is on the worship of you, may we focus on the worship and your direction more then what we can see phyically. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: Genesis 11:1-9 KJV
1 And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech.
2 And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there.
3 And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them throughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter.
4 And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.
5 And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.
6 And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.
7 Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.
8 So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.
9 Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.
