Things Done In Secret 10/11/2020
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisJohn 7:1-9 KJV
1 After these things Jesus walked in Galilee: for he would not walk in Jewry, because the Jews sought to kill him.
2 Now the Jews' feast of tabernacles was at hand.
3 His brethren therefore said unto him, Depart hence, and go into Judaea, that thy disciples also may see the works that thou doest.
4 For there is no man that doeth any thing in secret, and he himself seeketh to be known openly. If thou do these things, shew thyself to the world.
5 For neither did his brethren believe in him.
6 Then Jesus said unto them, My time is not yet come: but your time is alway ready.
7 The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil.
8 Go ye up unto this feast: I go not up yet unto this feast; for my time is not yet full come.
9 When he had said these words unto them, he abode still in Galilee.
If you grow up in a christian home that reads their Bible daily, attends church and prays before every meal, you might have the idea everyone loves Jesus. Everyone you know attends the same church, shop the same stores, and goes to the same social functions. It like one big happy family. You seldom worry about strangers among you. Yet we live in a world this is not so true in every place. The idea that everyone loves Jesus, is far from the truth even in today's world. It is the one thing that perhaps hard for anyone that knows Jesus to fully grasp unless they meet people that just do not love Jesus. Until you do this passage of scripture may be quick to over look, but in Jesus day his brethren did not understand the claims Jesus made and did not go publicly to certain places instead did things in private. Jesus said he knew the world already hated him.
Stop there start a new paragraph, Jesus knew the world hated him. Yet the disciples could go and testify of the thing Jesus was doing. Yet if he went he would testify against the evil of the world and things the world did was evil. I myself ask several hard question of why did Jesus not reveal himself to the world openly always, why were there times of working in secret. Then we look at our Heavenly Father, when he created living soul in the womb, and knows from day one that infants call, he creates in the secret places the life that will become a spokesmen for him. One seed of hope planted in secret, but it grows no longer to be secret. The time was yet for certain things about Jesus to be revealed. Some people looked for Jesus to be a great King like King David a warrior king, and Jesus was not a king of war in the since of physical fight, but a king non the less that would wear a crown of throwns. He was a spiritual king. When we look how faith grows it starts as a mustard seed of faith, grown deep within the soil and once watered and sunshine hits the earth that seed begins to grow. Out of the ground comes this tiny plant of life that grows in to a mustard tree. Animals eat of it, rest under it and birds of the air rest in her branches.
This is how Jesus is he plants his word, and the miracles in our life for us to grow and to shine, but we have to grow to be able to help the world no about this faith in Christ. Jesus may of not been loud in the work he did, but he was louder then perhaps his brethren thought, for he drew crowds of thousands of people. Yet when those seeking gold and silver found only a simple teacher, doing miracles and they could not possess that power they no longer wanted Jesus but hated him instead.
Point is Jesus time of sacrifice was not yet, and the crowd of people that sought his life understood not who He was or that spiritual faith was essential to healing, to see the power of God manifested in the lives of those around. Those things God does in secret is revealed, but in his timing. Jesus is no different, the time of revelation to the world was not yet Jesus said. When Jesus says to your heart not yet, be still and wait for God's anointed time. Continue in the work of God and do it not to be seen by the world, but among those in the place where God has placed you to be.
Dear Heavenly Father, help us to accept your time frame and your reason for not always springing your word into action to the world, but sometimes in the congression of your people, among your disciples and your children to strength and to enable them to share your work in the world that does not always like you. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

18 Then said he, Unto what is the kingdom of God like? and whereunto shall I resemble it?
19 It is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and cast into his garden; and it grew, and waxed a great tree; and the fowls of the air lodged in the branches of it.
20 And again he said, Whereunto shall I liken the kingdom of God?
Colossians 1:26 KJV
26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:
