Man Finds Grace In The Eyes Of The Lord 10/9/2020
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisJohn 3:17-21 KJV
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
When one studies indepth the chapter in the Bible, John 3 and know that certain parts of it is perhaps taken from Old Testament then it becomes easier to understand that Jesus discourse with Nicodemus a scribe, was speaking a language that he understood well. When get to the point that man loved darkness rather then light we understand that evil had risen. In the days of Noah God seen man had become evil and it grieved God, so sent his word/light to the mankind in hopes that they would believe. Noah and his children their spouse and were saved, but no one else believe the word of God that a flood was coming. When God speaks to evil people about who he is, he does so to hope to teach them to believe in Him. He does not come to condemn when he sends his word first, but condemnation and judgment can and will come after without faith. What this means is if we beleive in God's salvation then the destruction is not meant for you as a believer, but the warning of destruction can be there and is there for all without faith in God.
We look at the time of Jonah and he came and brought the word to Nineveh and they repented and for a time, Nineveh was protected by God because of their belief, and then later God would destroy has people turned away from his warning. Now if we understand that God said anyone that believed in his Son name which is Jesus, Immanual, Christ, and many names he has but you only need to believe in one name that is Jesus as being the only begotten Son of God to be saved. What do we cry do we cry Jesus, the Lamb God, I come as I am without one plea because he shed his precious blood for me. He came dying to save us, and rose to victory out of the dark domain, he lives forever in God's saving grace.
The point being salvation begins with the word of God spoken to unbeliever so they might believe, and turn from the darkness that encompasses them to the grave. If they turn to God and to the light of his word, their deeds done for him are manifest and shown to be a work of God. If we believe in God's word that Christ came to save us then we are saved, when we believe in His name being the only one that we might be saved through and by. Mohammed, Moses, Buddha, non the Bible prophets of old and more could not save us because they are not the only begotten of God the Father.
Christ onliness is unique in the fact he was conceived not just in name as being God with us, but the fact he came in the flesh as a man with the power of God resting upon him, to do the work of His Father. He born by a woman that was virgin but born by normal means. He was conceived by the hovering of the Holy Spirit upon Mary and conceived by God's word, when Mary said let it be as God said. Story found in Luke 1. The fact is we believe because he is the only one conceived by the Spirit to become flesh like you and me. He came so we would undestand who God is and how much he loved us. That he did not desire to destroy us but to give us light and life through his name. Man found grace in the eyes of God because he loved us.
God sent us grace through his Son, first as his word at the time of Noah, and then in time to come as his Son in human flesh. When day of judgment arrives it will be like the days of Noah, His children and people in the ark of safety when they meet his Son in the sky, and the judgment of God will rest upon the earth of final destruction. When we finally understand his light is what draws us to him, the truth of his word, in daily events, even some foretold to us, as coming to pass. We know his word is true in our hearts and soul and mind. We need no other evidence but that his word is true even today.
Dear Heavenly Father, help us to trust in your Son's name, and that he came in the flesh to save us to enlighten us to the knowledge of his light and your word, that we might believe in you and trust in you. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
