1 Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.
2 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.
3 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.
4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
5 For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them.
6 But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:)
7 Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.)
8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; As I sit ready to type once more I am only reminded of the grace of God, to the children of Israel, to those of faith in God Jehovah alone. Why is Jesus so important? Why is faith in Christ so important. Perhaps yesterday I touched on this a little when Moses went out in the middle of the people to protect from the plague with the incense on himself. He knew he was laying his life down for the people for God had striken the people with death. Reason God was chastizing them was because they believe not in God ability to chose the right leader. This is a reflection on the nation of Israel in regards to faith that waiver in the wilderness. Our journey with Christ and God is more then a simple walk of faith, it learning to walk in truth of God's word by faith and following in the footstep of Jesus. God's plan is for man to follow his instruction and to do his way. To accept the Priesthood of Christ Jesus as intercessor between man and God. To no longer need the earthly shepherd as a go between to God. That faith would be individually and judged individually. Earthly ministers are a plus in one's life, but they are not your judge and jury. There duty is to teach the word of God. Don't blame a minister for stepping on your toes unless his picture is fuzzy, but probably he has no knowledge of what you are going through. In fact often a public confession is by your own guilt or even your own desire to justify yourself.
The people had no justification in the story yesterday for there action but that Moses had not delivered them to the promise land. They thought they were holy to choose a leader they like better then Moses. They thought they needed not an intercessor chosen by God. There are people that think to day that Jesus is not necessary. That the cross is in vain, the the cross had no power, that the resurrection itself had no power. But the truth is God has the power to raise Jesus up, to allow Christ to descend into the lower parts of hell and still come up and ascend into heaven. God that is powerful to make the heavens and the earth. To even create a place for the devil and his angels. Has the power to raise a Savior up for you and me by showing us his love. Why was their no mercy in the wilderness. The miracles shown them in the wilderness is why I believe God did not show any mercy, and also why God did not strike Moses dead for killing the people after they built the golden calf. The people were ever seeing the miracles of God but had no fear of God and His Word. They did not ask God for another leader, they went behind his back, if you can really go behind God's back.
The point being are you willing to allow God to chose your intercessor and believe in Christ Jesus. You do not get to chose your counselor, your go between or your lawyer in this case. Jesus is and was gentle, kind and good to all people. He had compassion for the people. He did not brow beat you over sin, but taught truth so you could see your own errors and make change. Who does not want a Savior like Jesus. A savior that paid the price for our sins, by paying the death penalty for nailing him to the cross with our sin. Yet still saying Father forgive them for they know not what they do. Do you want this kind of intercession between you and God. Do want your sins forgiven. 1 Behold, the LORD'S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:
2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.
3 For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness.
4 None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity.
5 They hatch cockatrice' eggs, and weave the spider's web: he that eateth of their eggs dieth, and that which is crushed breaketh out into a viper.
6 Their webs shall not become garments, neither shall they cover themselves with their works: their works are works of iniquity, and the act of violence is in their hands.
7 Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood: their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths.
8 The way of peace they know not; and there is no judgment in their goings: they have made them crooked paths: whosoever goeth therein shall not know peace.
9 Therefore is judgment far from us, neither doth justice overtake us: we wait for light, but behold obscurity; for brightness, but we walk in darkness.
10 We grope for the wall like the blind, and we grope as if we had no eyes: we stumble at noonday as in the night; we are in desolate places as dead men.
11 We roar all like bears, and mourn sore like doves: we look for judgment, but there is none; for salvation, but it is far off from us.
12 For our transgressions are multiplied before thee, and our sins testify against us: for our transgressions are with us; and as for our iniquities, we know them;
13 In transgressing and lying against the LORD, and departing away from our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood.
14 And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter.
15 Yea, truth faileth; and he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey: and the LORD saw it, and it displeased him that there was no judgment.
16 And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him.
17 For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloke.
18 According to their deeds, accordingly he will repay, fury to his adversaries, recompence to his enemies; to the islands he will repay recompence.
19 So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.
20 And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the LORD.
21 As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the LORD; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed's seed, saith the LORD, from henceforth and for ever.
