Ephesians 6:13-19 KJV
(13) Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
(14) Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
(15) And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
(16) Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
(17) And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
(18) Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
(19) And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,

To quench the enemy with faith, one must be saved. One can not began to destroy the devil, being a child of the devil until salvation. Yeah I get it you do not see yourself as a child of the devil, but think again, until you get saved, you are in rebellion against God. To deny God, to disobey God, to not love God makes you a child of the devil. To follow your own lust and desires is in option to godly rule. Yet one’s desires and lust put in check with the word of God is not in option to God. No one ever asked Abraham the human father of faith, if he desired land, or if it was truly just a gift from God. That one of them question one will have to ask Abraham in heaven when we see this Old Testament Prophet. Yet faith is not built on Abraham, or Moses, but on the promises by the Word of God.

To deal with one’s own wants might not be the will of God. It okay to want something and it okay to have things, but it when these things are more important then life, liberty and most of all faith in God. How destructive is the enemy, will it can cause diseases like STDS, poverty if drinking, drugs or gambling, and it can cause loss of friendship because of theft, gossip and adultery. Yet devil ways can lead you further then God then you ever planned. Yet as a child of God Satan has no power over you. As a child of God the shield of faith will protect you against temptation and the wiles of the devil. Yet you have to know how to hold that shield of faith. How to put on that armor of God.

One can not go around saying I am Christian and never put on faith beyond belief in Jesus. One can not put on salvation on their feet, without knowing how to be saved. If you got saved, you surely can tell someone else how you got saved. I asked Jesus into my heart between the ages of 6-7. I was a child, yet I had to ask Jesus to forgive me of my sins, and then I had to ask Jesus into my heart. Every believer has to do that. Whether you can quote scripture to explain it or not you can tell someone to repent and ask Jesus into their heart. Devil does not like you to do that. Yet that putting on the salvation and sharing the Gospel of peace that will quench the enemy darts as more and more people get saved.

Yet faith must be put in action. I can carry a shield but if I do not know how to block the darts of the enemy it has no ability to keep me from being wounded. When tempted the answer is to pray. When wanting to argue the answer is to shut up, unless it is something worth fighting for. It called learning to bridle the tongue. That applies to gossip and so forth. You can not use a shield properly if you are not taught that your righteousness is not based on how good you are, but on faith. For one there will be times you will forget to duck or to lift that shield into place for protection. There are times temptation will come and you will fail because the application of the word of God was never applied. The application of turning from sin. Turning from temptation before you and saying you are a child of God and God did not call you to rebellion or to sin. Yet He called you to be His child and a human one at that. He molded you in His image and not the image of Satan/ or an angel. He called you to be His child through faith and obedience. No doubt Adam and Eve believed in God, they however had not learned to obey God or follow instructions. The cost was death. All Adam had to do was eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, to be punished.

Faith begins with the knowledge that salvation is not based on works, but works is a part of faith. Obedience is a part of faith. Abraham sin has cost the world how many lives with war between the offspring of Ishmael and Isaac. The other descendants of Noah children. After all Canaan was cursed to be a servant to his brothers. Yet we all are cursed to serve mankind. Without Servanthood no one learns to love. If one never learns to care for and do for another one never learns compassion. To destroy the enemies darts one has to have compassion. Compassion to speak the truth to the enemy about who God is. Who Christ is. One can only know by taking time to know God for themselves, through scripture and talking to God. Allowing His Spirit to minister to you so you can minister to someone else. You can not use a shield of faith without knowing truth. If you use lies to try and defeat the enemy you just using the devils ways.

How many heard the old saying if you are not good Santa will not bring you toys, yet the truth is what, being bad or good seldom stop a child from getting presents at Christmas, only poverty or bad parents if they celebrated Christmas. It truth there many things children are told over the years that are myths, that hopefully they out grow. Yet the Word of God is truth, but few who hear believe or only believe for a time. We must put on belief, which is the breastplate of righteousness daily. We can not throw out belief. Yet shield of faith will protect you if you will only believe. Faith is provided by God. He has the ability to strengthen and even harden your heart for a time. Sometimes belief is the only things we have of our armor on. Yet it when we put it on it like warped shield that can not be broken. God puts it in place by the Holy Spirit upon first belief. It protects you from sinning against God by denouncing Him. Protection against unbelief is there.

Even if you pick up your Bible and say I am re examining my convictions, the foundation of belief is intact. Faith begins as small as a mustard seed. Sometimes dead branches must be cut away so life of faith can grow. Yet if no faith exist, then what can grow. One must begin with that mustard seed of faith. Then it must be rooted in the word of God. God wants to fine tune faith by His Spirit speaking to our hearts His word.

Dear Heavenly Father grant us the faith that will destroy the enemies darts. Enables us to speak in truth and not the lies of the devil. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
