Time of Christ: The Enemy Wants The World Destroyed

Daily Devotions: by Christina Farris

John 11:45-53 KJV
(45) Then many of the Jews which came to Mary, and had seen the things which Jesus did, believed on him.
(46) But some of them went their ways to the Pharisees, and told them what things Jesus had done.
(47) Then gathered the chief priests and the Pharisees a council, and said, What do we? for this man doeth many miracles.
(48) If we let him thus alone, all men will believe on him: and the Romans shall come and take away both our place and nation.
(49) And one of them, named Caiaphas, being the high priest that same year, said unto them, Ye know nothing at all,
(50) Nor consider that it is expedient for us, that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not.
(51) And this spake he not of himself: but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for that nation;
(52) And not for that nation only, but that also he should gather together in one the children of God that were scattered abroad.
(53) Then from that day forth they took counsel together for to put him to death.

I often wonder when we hear on the news of more violence in even our own nation what is our world coming too and then I think again is it really more violent or people in the public becoming more aware of the violence in our world. The plot of evil of evil and mentally insane people will always plague our world. The more people the more violence is more likely to erupt somewhere. Yet the violence is a way of life for those in opposition of something or is there another more peaceful solution. If the only thing evil men had against Jesus was the fact that he did miracles or did good, then we have to wonder what was going through the mind of mass killers and gang violence.

Watching Simpson the other night I had to think of how so much some people go to be like the Jones only to find that they are better off being who they really are. Yet it is the non conformist that are seen as a threat to society and yet only a fraction of non conformist probably are violent. For no one conforms completely to any group of people. Jesus was a non conformist. He did not conform to the people instead we were to conform to His ways. His ways not a way of violence but teaching of peace and love. Jesus ways also of healing the sick and those in need. Jesus way of miracles and parables that Pharisees, Sadducees and Scribes only seen as someone taking their money and ruining their way of life in the medical, financial and teaching skills. They seen Jesus in opposition and not someone to look to for help except for a few that believed among them. Yet this was Jerusalem where authority of the scribes were threaten. Instead of using some of the principles of how Jesus taught to enhance there own ministry they sought the life of Jesus. Who the crazy person now the one’s in authority or Jesus?

The mental that choose to use violence to solve their problems in only people that either gotten to place of torment by others, or feel they are being tormented by others because either they understand not the language of those around them, the language is clear, or their isolation has caused them to only not adjust to change that they lash out in violence to the world around them. Yeah that turtle opinion right there. Yet there can be a simple chemical imbalance in a person that causes violence. Yet in the case of Jesus, he was the most sane among those who sought his life. No one was asking for Jews to change their rituals, only make it clear to the heathens the reality of God and His word. The love of God spreading far and wide never tore up a government, only improves a government. The love of God does not destroy a church but it fills a church or temple.

Only the opposition of evil not liking good causes violence. Only jealousy causes violence, only hate and anger causes violence only if these things become out of control. As the leaders began to plot against Jesus they cared not for all the good he was doing. The word of God brings light to evil world. Teaching of God and faith should be about bringing good to world of darkness. Many small villages plagued by witch doctors in South America and Africa were defeated by the light of God by showing them Christ love through action and deeds.

Jesus taught God’s word in a way people could understand it. The Ten Commandments being about loving God and others as yourself. People were healed that could go back to work and improve their way of life, no longer trapped by disabilities or illnesses and yet this was consider a problem. The flu shot is being given out at many pharmacies for a set price. The price of keeping well so you can work is on the chopping block of who choose to take precautions. Yet without taking a flu shot you might survive without getting sick or just getting a little flu. Then you might have to face the flu of mass destruction that leads to death and no food on the table for the family. Yet what ever the out come of this flu season I guarantee someone will get that shot that does not work and still miss days of work.

The choice of wellness and a loss of money does not make since in scripture. If you knew that miracles were wrought by the hand of man that could still the water, then why not join Him. They seen the destruction of Babylonians, Assyria, Persia and even Rome. Rome was in power now. They no longer believe in the power of God to destroy and defeat the powers that wished to destroy them. Instead they believed keeping quiet about faith would solve the issue. Shutting the person up that was being a rebel rouser to their way of life. Had finances been hit that hard in the temple that to kill an innocent man to gain control was a solution.

That the problem in our world today, the government seldom looking beyond the leadership of area to see the good someone is trying to do. If Rome had seen the miracles, then profit would have been sought and a way to control Jesus. Yet Jesus was doing something for them and that was taking the power away from the temple. Yet when all was said and done even the government was against Jesus, because people talked of Jesus becoming king and destruction of temple that would be built back in three days. An impossible feat for even their craftsmen.

If God is among us then why destroy God? Is God’s power of love a threat to the world? God allowed people to set up rulers and kings, so why would His power be a threat. The leaders did not see the provisions of God as a possibility or where they looking at manna and quail to eat in the wilderness as a non blessing. God’s provision teaches us something, and yet not meant to destroy or hurt us. Yet man’s provision often comes with a price of the destruction of the Word of God.

We speak truth of forgiveness but revenge is only given or a way to get even. The plot of man verses the goodness and grace of God is a threat to the devils way of thinking. A threat to love. Yet the Pharisees plot was not a threat to their own pocket book but a way of saving their greed that would be spoiled with Christ physical resurrection. Yet Christ forgiveness even were for the Jews that wanted him to die, because they were blinded to the ways of God.

Dear Heavenly Father as violence is plotted against the world of good, may your truth reign of how evil plots against the good only to seek what they desire. With that knowledge may we defeat our enemy by your word and your foresight of what is to come, so we can defeat the enemies attacks by your word. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
