Solomon's mother was Bathesheba, King Lemuel is said or thought to be another name for Solomon. Solomon writing about the advice of his mother, not to give up his strength/power to a woman. In other words his strength his wisdom was not to be given up to the woman he married, or engaged with. He was not to allow his authority to be ruled by his desires or taken by another. Then it goes on to talk about the dangers of the need for strong drinks and to much wine that causes death. Warning to aid in the death of your men or the people. Instead he was to plead the cuase of the poor and needy.

People proverty struggle daily with where the next meal comes from, where they will sleep if their shelter is not well made, or if their bills are piling up to where there seems to be no hope. Even believers struggle in proverty as well as the poor. The idea of just ending it all comes to their heart and mind to the point some actually do it because of their financial struggle. Never giving thought to what tomorrow might bring, or if God will send a miracle in the storm. Can we slow down and trust God, and know that his way is best for us.

If you ever known someone close to you that has died from suicide, it takes one's breath away as if how could someone stop the event. How can someone stop someone from killing another. What if the answer is their was nothing you could do but it their choice. I will tell you this, if you do the best you can the rest does not matter. Do not feel guilty for what you can't change but learn from the event of someone's else despair.

It was Solomon choice to help those in need, those dying because of hardship that could be changed. However there some that would say just kill them and do not worry about it, and move on, to give that strong drink. The warning came from Solomon's mother not to be this sort of king. Not to forget the laws of God and the land. To not forget the value of a soul.

Our world struggles with euthanasia, abortion and so forth. Euthanasia killing or aiding the sick and dying, abortion the killing of the unborn and even today the just recently born in some states. Some believe killing the elderly is okay as well. There is a difference in easing suffering, without killing and killing to just end what will come in time. Who are we to play judge and jury who lives and who dies.

I lived with chronic unbearable pain for fourteen years of my life and even at the end of pain period, it had become so intense I would of welcomed death. I do not believe in suicide. I do believe in giving aid to help ease suffering in this world. What if I had not been healed after fourteen years of chronic pain? What if God had not delivered me, I do not know how long medicine would of aided in control pain, or how long my body would of survived on medicine. How long I could of handled the pain. When God healed me, the wait seem worth it. Why because God was showing me his love to me at that moment when I really needed it in my life. That one reason this site exist but the other is maybe this Proverb because though I can't stop others, from hurting, mentally,or physicially, I know the one that can, and I know the one that can heal the spirit and the spiritual pain we feel because of guilt of sin, before and after salvation.

Solomon name Lemur means son of God. He seen himself in this passage as a child of God. Not just a child of Bathsheba but a child of God's wisdom and grace. If we want to understand that Solomon life style was not fitting a child of God, we need to examine is there parts of our life that not in tuned to being a child of God, God is tranforming us, with his grace. On April 25, 2021 I did a devotion on Proverbs 31 called the Hope Chest It finishes out Proverbs 31 with talking about the church as the bride of Christ as will as the woman of the home. Had Solomon seen his role as bride of Christ. deciding to marry and be productive of the word of God in teaching and the building the foundation of his kingdom.

The question comes did he give democracy to his wives to the point it was part of the destruction of his kingdom in the killing of babies on altar of Astrothe. Was the foundation Solomon building destructible and solid. Okay the thing that would perish in Solomon kingdom would be those things not of God.

When God laid the foundation of the world he built it to be destroyed one day. Yet he built people with the ability not to perish if they received his word and believed. Yet at the same time he allowed people like Solomon wives to carry out their sin. Knowing their sin would be destroyed.

Our country was built on liberty and our liberty is growing to the point of destruction with what God calls sin in our world. When our nation choose God's laws, God's way, God's plan for our life, then our nation is healed of the sin in our land. This need for strong drink or tonics of destruction is no longer necessary, because evil is no longer winning. Man in the world says tonic is necessary, but God says no it not necessary follow me and observe his commands.

Where are you today trying to remedy the solution with the addication of sin, or alcohol and drugs, or are you trusting in God for the solution of your pain, your misery and mental problems of dealing with things in our world. Yes you can come to a point you can't handle seeing the horrors of our world anymore. God understands. He gets sick of it to and destroys sin. Noah and his ark, but rest perished. Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities were destroyed. How angry was God, yet he realized some people had faith and receive his grace. Mankind burns their own eyes with sin. the only healing balms is Jesus. He is the mercy God sent to man, He is the grace that God sent to man. His name is Jesus and The word of God. God sent the believers forth to spread the word about his Son and his salvation. Also to care about those in need.

Dear Heavenly Father the cure for the world is your word which came in the flesh as Jesus to die for our sin, and to take our sin from us and build the foundation of your word in our life for eternity. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
