God Weighs All Things

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Proverbs 20:1-30 KJV
1 Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.
2 The fear of a king is as the roaring of a lion: whoso provoketh him to anger sinneth against his own soul.
3 It is an honour for a man to cease from strife: but every fool will be meddling.
4 The sluggard will not plow by reason of the cold; therefore shall he beg in harvest, and have nothing.
5 Counsel in the heart of man is like deep water; but a man of understanding will draw it out.
6 Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find?
7 The just man walketh in his integrity: his children are blessed after him.
8 A king that sitteth in the throne of judgment scattereth away all evil with his eyes.
9 Who can say, I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin?
10 Divers weights, and divers measures, both of them are alike abomination to the LORD.
11 Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure, and whether it be right.
12 The hearing ear, and the seeing eye, the LORD hath made even both of them.
13 Love not sleep, lest thou come to poverty; open thine eyes, and thou shalt be satisfied with bread.
14 It is naught, it is naught, saith the buyer: but when he is gone his way, then he boasteth.
15 There is gold, and a multitude of rubies: but the lips of knowledge are a precious jewel.
16 Take his garment that is surety for a stranger: and take a pledge of him for a strange woman.
17 Bread of deceit is sweet to a man; but afterwards his mouth shall be filled with gravel.
18 Every purpose is established by counsel: and with good advice make war.
19 He that goeth about as a talebearer revealeth secrets: therefore meddle not with him that flattereth with his lips.
20 Whoso curseth his father or his mother, his lamp shall be put out in obscure darkness.
21 An inheritance may be gotten hastily at the beginning; but the end thereof shall not be blessed.
22 Say not thou, I will recompense evil; but wait on the LORD, and he shall save thee.
23 Divers weights are an abomination unto the LORD; and a false balance is not good.
24 Man's goings are of the LORD; how can a man then understand his own way?
25 It is a snare to the man who devoureth that which is holy, and after vows to make enquiry.
26 A wise king scattereth the wicked, and bringeth the wheel over them.
27 The spirit of man is the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly.
28 Mercy and truth preserve the king: and his throne is upholden by mercy.
29 The glory of young men is their strength: and the beauty of old men is the gray head.
30 The blueness of a wound cleanseth away evil: so do stripes the inward parts of the belly.

God weighing of man is probably more simple then we think, if we study Genesis 6, God said all men are evil, yet God did find a just man name Noah. Sometimes the truth of sin is we never look at our own humanity. Do we deserve salvation? Is Salvation something we can grab hold or proclaiming we can do it for ourselves? What is this justification comes with faith. When God examines man he looking for our faith, not our works, not our sin. He looking do we believe in the parameters he set for faith. Cornelius did not know Jesus, but he was a man of faith, and God had him send for a man named Peter(Acts 10). What we fail to see here is Christ had come, and his love for God had been counted as righteousness of faith, without salvation. Why because of works, because of things he did because of his faith in God. Faith for Cornelius was more then believing but action as well that demonstrated his faith. He just did not have all the parts of faith in his belief system. God was going to teach him through the Apostle Peter. Proclaiming to Cornelius he know longer had to make sacrifices and the gift of the Holy Spirit would aid him in his walk with God and seal him til the day of salvation upon belief in Jesus Christ. Cornelius was pure to the point of his understanding and fear of the Lord, yet he knew not the Messiah had come. Nor does it indicate he had knowledge that there was even a Messiah. What did God see and weigh but his chariety and his fear of God.

The question is if I live in a strange country and have faith in God and not know Christ, will I die in my sin. Cornelius is maybe the best example we have in New Testament with a similiar question. God will teach you about Jesus if you have faith in Him, someway, somehow and one day, faith is important here. Cornelius was a man of fear of God but also did chariety among the people.

Do you have a reverence for God? Do you give to others? What does God see about your life? A friend gave me some yarn to help me to do some chariety work, I think nothing about the time it takes, but I know it is a help to her has well. Sometimes what we need to do is put forth our effort to help others and allow God to reveal what he needs to feed our soul, heart and mind. Cornelius learned about Jesus, because of his chariety. Our actions do matter to God, but they do not save us, in the since of eternal security. Only faith in Christ gives us eternal security.

What is sin against man and what chariety to man, may seem like a crazy question. The elder generation now passed on my husband side of the family. My family being very far away from me, leaves me with the question who do you help, beyond your family, beyond your friends and neighbors. Perhaps it comes with help with chariety done by another. It called putting together those things you can not by your means with the help of another. When more hands join the force of chariety, what happens mankind see loves from all types of people.

Yet what does God see of chariety and our sin against man. Man is evil, we do evil and yet God's grace is enough to cover all our sins. Perhaps the love of man shown to man, help God desire to redeem us, no, he already had decide that from the garden. Adam and Eve must been really a nice first couple, for God never gave up on mankind. Watching a mother online work with her disabled son and giving him points for good behavior to gain a dollar at the end of the day, is like us trying to weigh our good and bad in a run of a day. How many of us would be lacking if only in our thoughts. If our thoughts take life in words, or deeds, it is a stumbling point if only weighing our bad behavior.

Solomon wisdom was anyone that cursed his father or mother should be sent to deep darkness or lets say in english hell. Jesus said anyone that cursed his father or mother should kill themselves. Now what if you did,is this God's law or is this man's reaction to man to deeply punish a person in their sin. To block a person from their life with their family. That is a good question and once people of faith probably ask what are words today. Do we not forgive anger in the heat of the moment of others. We might try but we must also ask do we make our choices of where lines are cross with other humans.

There somethings that will take years to forgive, but other things no one concerns themselves about in this day and time. Words are more forgiveable then actions of harm and death. The feeling of threat to one's own existence. changes the outcome of how one might react to another and it has nothing to do with forgiveness.

It is important to understand their consequences for action for our own part of evil, to our own part of good. God weighs these things but our salvation comes from the Lord through faith in Christ Jesus who paid the sin debt of all our sin. No one is without guilt and yet one might be quick to say you act perfect so you must think you perfect, and the answer is no, but that what you think or say. It seeing someone has that super Christian syndrome, it is a good thing, but it not always the thing people need to hear. Sometimes people need to hear we had similiar problem and we took it before the Lord. The Lord revealed or showed us our own mistake, our own fruit of love, and the solution to the problems occuring in our life as we prayed.

What my point prayer is solution for the problem, but how God answers might not always be easy to handle whether positive or judgmental with correction. We might not be blessed because of our sin, but we are blessed to know a forgiving God with a plan of salvation that must be followed for eternal life, but he leaves no one out in the ability to hear the good news about Jesus.

Dear Heavenly Father, help us to have faith, and reveal yourself to each of children that reverence you. Lord also help us to know we can come to you about any problem we have. That chariety and works is a testimony of our faith, but it is not our faith, or what saves us. Help us to receive your greatest gift called love and Christ has Lord for our eternal security. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: Romans 2:1-16 KJV
1 Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.
2 But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things.
3 And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?
4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?
5 But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;
6 Who will render to every man according to his deeds:
7 To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:
8 But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,
9 Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;
10 But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:
11 For there is no respect of persons with God.
12 For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;
13 (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.
14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:
15 Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)
16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.

1 John 1:1-10 KJV
1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;
2 (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)
3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.
4 And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.
5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
