Walk In Integrity
05/19/2021

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Proverbs 19:1-29 KJV
1 Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse in his lips, and is a fool.
2 Also, that the soul be without knowledge, it is not good; and he that hasteth with his feet sinneth.
3 The foolishness of man perverteth his way: and his heart fretteth against the LORD.
4 Wealth maketh many friends; but the poor is separated from his neighbour.
5 A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall not escape.
6 Many will intreat the favour of the prince: and every man is a friend to him that giveth gifts.
7 All the brethren of the poor do hate him: how much more do his friends go far from him? he pursueth them with words, yet they are wanting to him.
8 He that getteth wisdom loveth his own soul: he that keepeth understanding shall find good.
9 A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall perish.
10 Delight is not seemly for a fool; much less for a servant to have rule over princes.
11 The discretion of a man deferreth his anger; and it is his glory to pass over a transgression.
12 The king's wrath is as the roaring of a lion; but his favour is as dew upon the grass.
13 A foolish son is the calamity of his father: and the contentions of a wife are a continual dropping.
14 House and riches are the inheritance of fathers: and a prudent wife is from the LORD.
15 Slothfulness casteth into a deep sleep; and an idle soul shall suffer hunger.
16 He that keepeth the commandment keepeth his own soul; but he that despiseth his ways shall die.
17 He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.

It does not matter if the poor is separated from his neighbor, but does the poor person have integrity that his neighbor will still respect. Do they beg, do they ask, do they plead, or do they manage what they have wisely. The other day my hubby and I went looking at puppies and dogs at the local animal shelter in our region. A dog does several things adds protection to a home but it also provides friendship. A dog will eat you out of house and home and so will any pet to tell the truth. They are more loved then the poor and the question is why, because of the integrity of dog or pet is far greater then some poor people's integrity. People in proverty or being poor often ask for hand out without the ability to pay it back or take without asking. When the poor gives back and cares about others, it only a sign they care about others and often stand up for what is right. However finding ways to give back is not always easy for the poor. Sometimes it with a labor of love with talents they have learned. Raking a yard, mowing a lawn, cleaning windows or a house for someone. Yet this can be done in trade or for money as well. It when the rich see no value in the poor that is cost to them, because they fail to see another human soul. The burden of society maybe the poor but the burden of the rich is to be able to have good help with integrity.

A foolish man is pervert in his ways, and because of his pervertness he wrestles against God. A pervert without understanding only see his way is right, but his vision is cloudy because of his sin.

Those that lend to the poor or give to the poor will be repaid by the Lord. Often we think our giving is a waste of time, but when we do give does God not repay us in someway, because we cared for those in need in their time of difficulty. God sees what you do if no one else does. Sometimes you get to help a person up and they to will help the poor because they know exactly how hard it is to rise up out of the situation they are in.

18 Chasten thy son while there is hope, and let not thy soul spare for his crying.
19 A man of great wrath shall suffer punishment: for if thou deliver him, yet thou must do it again.
20 Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end.
21 There are many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand.
22 The desire of a man is his kindness: and a poor man is better than a liar.
23 The fear of the LORD tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.
24 A slothful man hideth his hand in his bosom, and will not so much as bring it to his mouth again.
25 Smite a scorner, and the simple will beware: and reprove one that hath understanding, and he will understand knowledge.
26 He that wasteth his father, and chaseth away his mother, is a son that causeth shame, and bringeth reproach.
27 Cease, my son, to hear the instruction that causeth to err from the words of knowledge.
28 An ungodly witness scorneth judgment: and the mouth of the wicked devoureth iniquity.
29 Judgments are prepared for scorners, and stripes for the back of fools.

The correction of children is the only real parents have to correct their children. After children reach a certain age, they either no longer take the advise of their parents, or they seek another person's advice. Better to teach a child everything you can. Show them the difference of what the world does and what you as a believer do. For example take a story on the news, better then a neighbor that may later turn to gossip on the streets by accident. Take the story show the child the action of a stranger turned to evil and an evil outcome, explain why it wrong. Do not assume because your life style is not evil or wicked, that a child will know the difference. The world loves to glorify evil and evil things, without even realizing it. Teach the difference between godliness and sin. Whether they believe personally in God or not they will have at the minimum a since of what sin and evil is even in today's society.

Whether rich or poor may the child of wise parents have integrity needed to help our world that is living in the groseness of sin. God told Adam and Eve not to eat the fruit and they still did, how much more are children like this today. The point being to educate the child of the consequence of such action before the crime is half the battle. To choose the consequences is the one thing parents need to carry out. Do not worry if a child cries or pouts. The lesson is then learn to follow the rules.

Dear Heavenly Father, help the parents to teach their children consequences for their actions. Help parents to teach their children about God and his love for them, for the poor and for the poor with integrity. Teach the poor that their integrity has value even in our world today. That you love them and they truthfuliness is a greater price then the lies of the devils. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: Deuteronomy 6:4-9 KJV
4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:
5 And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
6 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:
7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
8 And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.
9 And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.
