Be A Friend Because We All Are Weak And Lord Name Is Strong

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

When one study scripture one ought to also look and say who is this speaking about the wicked or the righeous, the non believer who had not made up his mind, does believer or the one that decided his choice of unbelief. We define things in our world as right or wrong but do we define decision we make based on it is in the Bible so it must be okay, or it is in the Bible and it refers to people of faith or the wicked. Abraham righteous, but he was man, Solomon was a king, but still a man, and though both believed in God, only one committed Idolatry. Though both had more then one wife, both had wives that gave them trouble. King Ahab, not sure if he had more then one wife but Jezebel was a handful. The fact he was a king might mean he had at least other women in his life. The point being, I have heard people say will so and so did it in the Bible that is good enough for me and go on sinning. I think that is the attitude of some that do not know scripture or what life of believer is truly about. Faith and protection through sacrifice of Old Testament Mosaic law and Christ blood covering never gives one a license to sin, it only means the debit you owe for it has been paid by God but not necessarily by society. That there is no more separation between you and God once believing in Jesus but the blood of Christ that covers us and purges us and makes us white as snow, in the since of cleanness of our mind, soul and heart. Solomon sins were continually at the door of his heart, when his cleansing through the sacrificial laws were made. The atonement offered only for sin to be continual. For David sin was at his door, but he enter not always through the door of sin, but the Bible record of David sin with Bathsheba was told as being sin.

Proverbs 18:1-24 KJV
1 Through desire a man, having separated himself, seeketh and intermeddleth with all wisdom.

Solomon separating himself to expose all wisdom and yet he expose his own folly, and his own weakness as a man.

2 A fool hath no delight in understanding, but that his heart may discover itself.
3 When the wicked cometh, then cometh also contempt, and with ignominy reproach.

A fool does not want to understand the ways of God but his heart may discover the truth of itself as far has its own desires and wickedness. With wickedness comes contempt or judgment and shame. We can not escape the truth of our own actions in our heart and mind. We can deceive ourselves of our motives but we can not lie about what we do in all truth, for wickedness cares not who knows their sin or what they do. They boast of their own wicked deeds and action with laughter at their plot and design.

4 The words of a man's mouth are as deep waters, and the wellspring of wisdom as a flowing brook.
5 It is not good to accept the person of the wicked, to overthrow the righteous in judgment.

We must ask ourselves is our mouth like deep waters, the longer it talks the more trouble it is in, or is it like God speaking who's wisdom is like a wellspring, spring up and flowing into a brook. Wisdom of faith flows from above, and by God's Spirit into the heart of man to all that seek wisdom of faith. It wise not to use evil to overthrow righteousness in judgment. The faithful are covered by payment for sin, but the wicked have no covering they accept but their own. They understand not the judgment of God is not coming to God's people but to those that have no faith in God. Satan on judgment day will throw every sin at the believer but Jesus will be there to say I know this person and that sin is covered, that sin is corrected, the sin has been resolved. Satan you have not a case here.

6 A fool's lips enter into contention, and his mouth calleth for strokes.
7 A fool's mouth is his destruction, and his lips are the snare of his soul.
8 The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.

A fool's mouth is his own mistake, for he speaks words of confusion, and strife/agrumentative in nature. The words of tattler are as wounds, and they go into the part of the soul. Have you ever had someone tell on you has a child and you just felt horrible for your actions. Sometimes the talebear does more then he even realizes. However is that person still your friend or has he become your enemy, it depends on how you deal with truth and whether the talebearer was truthful.

9 He also that is slothful in his work is brother to him that is a great waster.

Ever meet someone that likes to waste things or is slothful in work? The truth of the matter these two things are brothers. These two things are something you do not want in your life because they care not about things they destroy or how long it takes to be destructive because their plan is to slow the process of success and not aid in the process.

10 The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.
11 The rich man's wealth is his strong city, and as an high wall in his own conceit.
12 Before destruction the heart of man is haughty, and before honour is humility.

Name of Lord alone is a strong tower. The Lord name has power. There is power in the name of the Lord. And righteous that run to it, are safe. The name of God protects his people, the name of Jesus we call upon and the Lord for anything we need according to his will, will be done for us.

The rich men look at the city they build and he is as strong has the highest wall and is own conceit/ or idea. Yet we know that even the wealthy need the Lord. Without the Lord the city will never been the fortress that the name of the Lord is. Man works hard to make a name that will stand the test of time, only to fall in his own weaknesses. King David, Solomon father found first hand that the strength in which he went to build Israel with could be overthrown by others. Pride has it own destruction and before true honor can come humility must be shown.

13 He that answereth a matter before he heareth it, it is folly and shame unto him.
14 The spirit of a man will sustain his infirmity; but a wounded spirit who can bear?

There is some question you can answer without hearing the whole matter, but those things that are not heard might be to one's own mistake. It better to hear the whole truth of a situation before giving an answer whether you will be involved in anyway, even if it is only an answer. It easy to speak without thinking. Seeing the judgment on death of man without hearing the whole tape makes it easy to pass quick judgment, but it is to a judges folly if he does or even did. You need to know the whole story to know if what was done was in humane.

On Tv last night watching Rescue 911 Lonestar one of the captains lost their husband, and the only way any friends found out is investigating the matter when no phone response was given, they checked with 911 and heard the call that had gone out from the home of their friend. Moral of the point if they only heard there was a call, the assumation was one was only in the hospital and not dead. The whole call total the story of what actually happened.

One might wonder how much hurt can a person handle, and the truth is if he is strong spirit, he will fight to the bitter end of a matter, if he is weak, he give up and die. The fact is, people with a strong spirit of not only winning but continuing on even when life hands you something that can not be fixed will still be able to over come. We are either overcomers or we are not. When a person receives Christ as Lord they become overcomers with faith in Christ Jesus to be able to have eternal life, and defeaters of Satan. This world might lead to defeat of some things that are worldly, but those things will pass away and have no value to the believer, and the believer over comes those things of this world not by their strenght or might, but the power of the Lord's Spirit. Do you think Jesus in human flesh did not want to run from what his fait would be, but he could see the other side of his fait on the cross, he was going home to be with the Father. He was judge by man and found in want, but judged by God and not in want. He obeyed His Father, to his death and resurrection, became the first of the overcomers of the new covenant by God.

What verse 14 is how man is able to sustain in his weakness, whether with faith or not but the wounded spirit is another thing. It needs God's repair to fix the situation.

15 The heart of the prudent getteth knowledge; and the ear of the wise seeketh knowledge.

The heart that searches gets knowledge and the ears will they become wise when they search for knowledge. How many look online to answer health questions, legal questions and even about things pertaining to things we hear in the news, online, and in the streets to see if it is true. We know there is alot of false information out there, but there is alot of truth as well. Sometimes we have to just go with our own instincts of what probably true and what will be.

16 A man's gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men.
17 He that is first in his own cause seemeth just; but his neighbour cometh and searcheth him.

A person with talent will be sought out if people know of the talent. They will even make room in their circles of friends and it often brings one to demonstrate or use those talents/gifts before even great men and women of our world in which we live.

18 The lot causeth contentions to cease, and parteth between the mighty.
19 A brother offended is harder to be won than a strong city: and their contentions are like the bars of a castle.

When talk about warfare and battles of disagreement sometimes walls are built between people that can not be torn down, because they like the bars of a castle. Sometimes those walls are even justifiable. Sometimes those walls are for one's own protection. God can do a work with those strongs walls that not only tear them down but open the door for God to break down those barriers. My prayer always when walls go up, may God tear them down and make both sides anew.

20 A man's belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled.
21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

Death and life is in the power of tongue. We can either be killers by what we say or bring life by what we say. The gifts of the spirit will bear fruit of love, hope, faith, and so forth. Those words not of God bring forth destruction. It brings down the tearing of the soul of others as well as yourself. You can only eat of the fruit, of words of life, faith, hope and love, and if you do this love is returned if by no other then God himself.

22 Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the LORD.

They that find a wife findeth a good thing. Think ladies God wisdom says we are called a good thing. Well we are more then a thing, but here the point a wife is a treasure and one to be thought of as a treasure, not as something to be disgarded but something that is good and good to keep. The word thing in our language today would anger many. but we need to realize women were consider property at one time. How many wives did Solomon have. How many did he choose to call a wife and a good thing. Remember the Lord made Eve for Adam, and introduce them to each other. No one knows exactly what he thought when he seen her but he knew her name would be woman, because she was made from his rib. He treasure her because she was made of him and from him, before he even created a child with her, and he knew what was to bear life through his own flesh, and how this first woman would one day be the mother of all living. What gift God gave the first man to know and understand.

23 The poor useth intreaties; but the rich answereth roughly.
24 A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

How many of us know how to be friendly in this world we live in. Six foot distance, wearing of mask, putting emotions on mask, and clear mask showing one's own expression only helped with the absents of others wearing regular masking the facial expression of a smile or greeting, a thumbs up saying agreement or like, and the nodding of the head that always been to express acknowledgement of another existence. Let us not forget that just because of a pandemic it did not stop us socially finding ways to make our awareness to others known, even if only by speech, hand gestures and so forth. Distancing did not stop it either. However did people long for social interaction, I do not doubt they did after a month, maybe a little longer for some. Yet this pandemic taught us we can still communicate with or without our mouths covered. That the simple greetings of humanity still exist. You know there even people we met in the world that we can honestly say we like, just from the little we know about them, so be nice, be kind and be sympathic, friendship of humanity still exist if we look for it.

Knowledge of God's word is wisdom, yet as we strive in this world we learn God name alone is a mighty fortress, and his word establishes all things even in our life as we ask in Jesus name by his word. Let us pray that relationships will heal and things will mend in due time. God's knows what it will take to break barriers, and instill knowledge of situations. God is good all the time and his wisdom is beyond our full understanding, though we seek it diligently.

Dear Heavenly Father, you know the hearts of all that hear your word, may this message today speak to the readers heart. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: 1 Samuel 19:4-6 KJV
4 And Jonathan spake good of David unto Saul his father, and said unto him, Let not the king sin against his servant, against David; because he hath not sinned against thee, and because his works have been to thee-ward very good:
5 For he did put his life in his hand, and slew the Philistine, and the LORD wrought a great salvation for all Israel: thou sawest it, and didst rejoice: wherefore then wilt thou sin against innocent blood, to slay David without a cause?
6 And Saul hearkened unto the voice of Jonathan: and Saul sware, As the LORD liveth, he shall not be slain.
