Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Acts 2:41-47 KJV
41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.
42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
43 And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.
44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common;
45 And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.
46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,
47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

Who is the mother of the church, those that fought for your soul through prayer and teaching, yet the decision still be yours. Two siblings in a house does not get saved necessarily at the same time. Some parents pray hard for their children salvation and wonder why they are still lost and unsaved. Others children receive Christ long before they fully understand many things spiritually. The early church got saved upon repentance of sin of crucifying Jesus in Jerusalem. As as soon as the early church repented, it began to grow with the teaching from the Apostles, the breaking of bread together, and providing the needs of each other. Upon salvation in those early days it might sound glamourous but it was also a time of opposition for the apostles and the saints. The spread of the Gospel would come with the retelling how Christ died for them. The church would grow with the confession of sin and signs and wonders followed the apostles. The Apostles became the mother's of the church world, by preaching the gospel of Jesus. In Galatians 4:19, it speaks of traviling in birth, until Christ be formed in a person. The church world gives birth through seeing others saved, not by seeing how many pews can be filled at one time. If the church world never sees a lost person saved it can not grow spiritually.

When a woman gives birth she becomes a mother, and for two years roughly or less a baby is bottle feed, or drinks from the mother's breast. Third year is usually when development of dependency begins to change to let me do and how do I do this and what is that and trying new things almost daily to see if it can be accomplished. In the church world as it gives birth, Christ is brings life in a believer not through action but through becoming a new creation. The new creation coming from the birth of the Holy Spirit. We are only a partaker in the process, through prayer, teaching preaching healing and the rest of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. We take on the role of not mother at the point of birth, but pacing father in the waiting room and the Holy Spirit must give birth to a new salvation by the receiving as Christ as Lord and Savior, confession and asking forgiveness of sin.

Now as a groommen of Jesus we can do nothing but watch Jesus and His Spirit move in the life of individual. No we have a job of sharing and telling about faith. To tell the story of his redeeming love for man. For his paying the price for our sin in our place. We can not give birth to salvation, but we can be a foster mom to God's people, by allowing the Holy Spirit to flow through each of us, who is the mother of us all.

May your mother's day be more interesting as you look at the church world in new light. May the Holy Spirit upon salvation by receiving Christ as Lord and Savior, upon confession of faith and asking for forgiveness of sin, be glorified. Make it an easy delivery for the Holy Spirit do it now. Need help in the process look at the How to be saved, there verses and prayer to help you.

Dear Heavenly move in our hearts unto salvation, bring forth a new birth and help your children to be foster mom's for you, so your family can grow and grow and grow. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: Galatians 4:19 KJV
19 My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you,

2 Corinthians 5:17-21 KJV
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
