Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

John 3:26-36 KJV
26 And they came unto John, and said unto him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond Jordan, to whom thou barest witness, behold, the same baptizeth, and all men come to him. br>27 John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.
28 Ye yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but that I am sent before him.
29 He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled.
30 He must increase, but I must decrease.
31 He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all.
32 And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony.
33 He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true.
34 For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him
35 The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.
36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

I do not care how many times one reads a passage, is evident that we only see through a glass darkly at times. Meaning only the mirror of things already to be before our eyes and often we see not what we thought, for we fail to examine each part in full, but others are able to see the reflection of reality of the situation not yet fullfilled. John a minister of faith must continually tell his students he is the bridegroom, but the bridegrooms friend. No miracle is recorded about John the baptist beyond the fact of his miraclous conception in his parents life of old age and that His mother Elizabeth was with child full of the Holy Spirit, something not mention about Christ. Yet Christ had the Spirit of God because of who He was, John was anointed by the Holy Spirit from conception, formed in old age of parents that yearn for a child of there own, apparently they never gave up,(need more info read Luke 1 and 2). John hears the bridegrooms voice and rejoices. Yet does he fully understand who the Messiah is or what will come of the Messiah as far as going to the cross. John witness Christ baptism and the anointing of the Holy Spirit descending like a dove on Jesus, (Mark 1, Matthew 3, Luke 3, and John 1). The point being John was looking straight at the Messiah with events around him, but not clearly seeing the image before him. If you look in a mirror, you notice ever wrinkle and blemish with age. You will even notice anything you consider a flaw, but you look away from the mirror and go on as if nothing as changed. John was still preaching in the wilderness and not following after Jesus. He seen the bridegroom, knew who he was, and continue as if nothing changed. Yet John still had the knowledge that he had to decrease in order of the Son of God to increase. In other words he had to point to Jesus knowing that many would follow Jesus leaving his ministry. John the baptist understood Christ was from above or at least the Holy Spirit that descended was from above.

John the baptist even taught about the Father and the fact he given everything into the hands of his Son. That God had placed his seal on his Son. He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life. The promise is for you and I. Wrath of God abides on the unbeliever. Some of us as believers wonder about our lot in life as well as the problems we face only to realize God is with us. The thing is we all are a bridegroom of Christ if we are his friend, we not chief bridegroom as far as best man, The Holy Spirit has that spot as forerunner throughout scripture to Christ physically coming in the flesh. The Holy Spirit declared his coming and God the Father did to. Jesus is preparing to take the people home at the time of resurrection.

The mirror of the bridegroom is full seen and preached even at the time of Jesus ministry, then again in the book Revelation the Testimony of Jesus spoken about in Revelation 1 and so forth. Both prophetic to Christ return and his already had come as man on the earth. Yet with this knowledge man is quick to understand we are only waiting for Christ return. To understand who the mother is, is to understand who Christ is as well. Tomorrow we be talking about the church being the mother to the children of God. The nurturer of faith, love and hope.

Dear Heavenly Father thank you both prophesy in scripture as well as the foretelling of the bridegroom, In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: 1 Corinthians 13:8-13 KJV
8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
