God's Planting
5/7/2020

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Isaiah 61:1-11 KJV
1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;
3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.
4 And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.
5 And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and the sons of the alien shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers.
6 But ye shall be named the Priests of the LORD: men shall call you the Ministers of our God: ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves.
7 For your shame ye shall have double; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them.
8 For I the LORD love judgment, I hate robbery for burnt offering; and I will direct their work in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.
9 And their seed shall be known among the Gentiles, and their offspring among the people: all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed which the LORD hath blessed.
10 I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.
11 For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord GOD will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.

What is God's anointing but a robe of righteousness. The robe of righteousness given to every bride and bridegroom for the kingdom of God. The minister who is called to be the example of the bridegroom, not the bridegroom, but a man/woman with the ability to live his life in righteousness of faith. Woman missionaries going in areas that had not heard the Gospel had to walk as Christ walked to preach and teach the people. The term bridegroom and bride is a metaphor for angel/ministers of God and the church. Christ being the first bridegroom, being he is his the word of God. This passage alone is speaking Isaiah calling to minister, in rough times, when his labor seems to be in vain and yet he continues to preach and with consistency in faith he will reap if he faints not. We must press on in faith so others know of our calling in Christ, but not only our calling in Christ but the calling of Christ in their own life. The call of faith and righteousness not by man, but the call of God for us to lead others in faith.

It matters not who you are discipling, it maybe your own child, a neighbor, a friend, a small group or a large congregation. The congregation is only a testimony of God's work, not necessarily your own. What the minister must realize the church is a product of God's Holy Spirit. God's Word must plant the seed of faith in the heart of a human soul, He must plant the hope for it to be rooted in the ground for it to bring forth fruit . If I think of my own errors in my life alone, that might even draw others away from Christ instead of too Christ, I have to thank God daily that he is the planter and sower of his word by His Spirit and I am only a tool in need of repair often time myself, or a block built on the foundation stone of faith myself.

At time of Isaiah we know there was times of desolation and time of rebuilding by gentiles. I heard a report a few months back as Moslems began to repair the temple, they continue care not about Israel artifacts, and that not disturbing in someways, but their idea of rebuilding is toss the old and begin anew. The Jews wanted to save some things that others thought were trash, not understanding importance of it. I think how often we go to clean our closet, it almost be better if someone else did the job, because whatever is removed won't be returning to the shelf in the closet or on the rack. Then would it be the things you want to keep remaining or would you need a new wardrobe intirely. I am not sure the answer for you, but I know it cost me more to let another tear out the old and put back new.

There is a point it doesn't matter if what remains seems worthless it is of rare value to you. When God looks at the world he sees people tattered, worn and wounded, but these people are of value to God even more so then to you. It matters not if you care, it the Spirit of God that must do the repair within the soul and heart of a human being. We might be outward adorners of ornaments, but the righteous of faith must be dressed by God's Spirit, by his word and God the Father. Aliens/ people of different world might dress and repair the person, but the soul still not be cleansed without a Savior. Isaiah waited for the Savior the promise Messiah to come and heal the land.

Psychologist do their best to heal the human spirit only to fail every time a trigger or a memory is returned to bring hurt, despite how hard a person tires to put it on a shelf out of sight or even in a closet. The idea of saying something is okay never makes it go away, yet it might resolve the issue of your own humanity. The point is, we can not plant a human soul, or bury the soul so it will reproduce, we can only bring forth the word as God leads in hopes it will bear fruit of faith, the healing power of Jesus and the spiritual life of righteousness through Christ Jesus unto God the Father.

Psychologist is the alien in the work, God is the real worker and healer in a believers life. It not downplay the human ability to help another, it is the final planting of the seed of faith must come from God, because to believe in God is not enough to have a doctor mend, faith must come by believing and knowing God is faithful to his children. A wall can be rebuilt, a house restored and car rebuilt, but the inner workings of faith must come into the soul something we can not see but we see the fruit of the Spirit of God when God is doing the repair. The fruit of anger, the love, the hope, the sin in a person life. The fruit of humanity is the fruit that not of God's spirit but it still bears fruit for a time, it more like rotten fruit that bears children of copycat behavior that is not of God. To copy cat God in regards to fruit, would be love, truth, judgment, hope, wisdom, thing we are not humanly equip to bear without the aid of God.

Despite the human meeting the needs of another God is able to heal the human Spirit. Isaiah seeing the world around him being repaired by strangers, them not understanding his faith or God, coming with in the land of Israel as well as the land of Babylon, he knew there was human kindness as well as human hatred. Meaning within the exile there would be those that would be helpful and kind to Israel, despite the exile, though their ways different, but their ways would not heal the human soul, God would have to plant those seeds in order for his fruit to come forth in a place of desolation of God's word.

Where are you this morning, are you clothed with the robe of righteousness, that came by faith, or do you have a robe of righteousness built by hands of aliens, not of faith and not of God, but only of good deeds, and well doing. We must be planted by the still waters, must be planted in futile soul of faith, Not built on the kindness of strangers but built on the foundation of faith.

Dear Heavenly Father give us the hope of faith, to teach us to be appointed and called by you first in faith and then to bear fruit of faith, to help in your work. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
