Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Exodus 40:35-38 KJV
35 And Moses was not able to enter into the tent of the congregation, because the cloud abode thereon, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.
36 And when the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the children of Israel went onward in all their journeys:
37 But if the cloud were not taken up, then they journeyed not till the day that it was taken up.
38 For the cloud of the LORD was upon the tabernacle by day, and fire was on it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys.

As the church is cleaned and people are left to remain outside the building in bubble cars, we have to ask oneself, are we praying for God to fill not only our temple but the body of Christ. As Moses lead the people the cloud filled the tabernacle in their journey and they would rest when the cloud was in the tabernacle and when the cloud had raised back up the Israelites continued their journey to the promise land. How many of us long for the filling of God's Spirit that the tabernacle had to have that time of rest before we continue following onward and upward. That sweet time of mediation before the journey continues on. We all need that revival of God's Spirit filling us and preparing us for the journey in life.

This devotion is short his morning, but it is a simple thought on faith how as we journey, there is also times of rest for mediation and learning. To learn to feast at the time of God's visitation in our life. Elijah fasted and ran away only to have God prepare a meal for him by angel to spur his journey on toward mountain Horeb, where he seen the storm and earthquake around him, only to find God was not in storm or earthquake, but he was in a place of refuge. In a place where he could see the storm, and feel the wind and the earth shake, but was not hurt. In lifes journey we need a place of refuge and safety. The tabernacle was only a testament of God's leadership in Israel life, but for Elijah in the cave on the mountain, God was showing his control through his protection when he sent the wind, the storm and the earthquake. God wants us to trust him for protection, for leadership and to build our nations economies.

No doubt as Israel rested, they knew not to fear, or be afraid because God was leading them on. Do not move forward tell God says so and don't step back in fear, but wait in faith. If you want to see our economy grow the way God intends it to, we need to put God first, mediate on his word, and allow him to lead us onward throught the wilderness and protect us in the storms.

Dear Heavenly Father, help us to learn to mediate on your word, to wait on your guidance, leadership with the knowledge you protect us in the storms in life and prepare us for difficult days ahead. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: 1 Kings 19:8-15 KJV
8 And he arose, and did eat and drink, and went in the strength of that meat forty days and forty nights unto Horeb the mount of God.
9 And he came thither unto a cave, and lodged there; and, behold, the word of the LORD came to him, and he said unto him, What doest thou here, Elijah?
10 And he said, I have been very jealous for the LORD God of hosts: for the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away.
11 And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the LORD. And, behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the LORD; but the LORD was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the LORD was not in the earthquake:
12 And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.
13 And it was so, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle, and went out, and stood in the entering in of the cave. And, behold, there came a voice unto him, and said, What doest thou here, Elijah?
14 And he said, I have been very jealous for the LORD God of hosts: because the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away.
15 And the LORD said unto him, Go, return on thy way to the wilderness of Damascus: and when thou comest, anoint Hazael to be king over Syria:
