Become My Enemy
4/30/2020

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Galatians 4:12-31 KJV
12 Brethren, I beseech you, be as I am; for I am as ye are: ye have not injured me at all.
13 Ye know how through infirmity of the flesh I preached the gospel unto you at the first.
14 And my temptation which was in my flesh ye despised not, nor rejected; but received me as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus.
15 Where is then the blessedness ye spake of? for I bear you record, that, if it had been possible, ye would have plucked out your own eyes, and have given them to me.
16 Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?
17 They zealously affect you, but not well; yea, they would exclude you, that ye might affect them.
18 But it is good to be zealously affected always in a good thing, and not only when I am present with you.
19 My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you,
20 I desire to be present with you now, and to change my voice; for I stand in doubt of you.
21 Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law?
22 For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman.
23 But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise.
24 Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar.
25 For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children.
26 But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.
27 For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: for the desolate hath many more children than she which hath an husband.
28 Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.
29 But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now.
30 Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman.
31 So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free.

What greater pleasure can a teacher have when he forces his own students to realize their own shame of looking up to a minister only to find that minister is not the person they thought they were, because of their humanity shine forth instead of their faith. It is probably the greatest test of someone faith in one respect, because you have to decide for yourself if that person is still a teacher of faith, or a devil trying to deceive. The answer is Paul was of faith, but human and prone to human frailities, he not Jesus but striving to be like Jesus in the since of the things he taught and did by God's Spirit, but his humanity showed his own sinfulness when he yielded to temptation. In other words Paul admitted having faults and but he was no longer under the law of sin that separated him from God but set free of sin and guilt.

Hold on how can you be free of sin and still have sin, you no longer under the law that brings one to conviction. Yes everyone is still under the law of man while on earth. But no one is no longer under the law that convicted one of sin, or enmity against God when one believes in Jesus. When born into a family you subject to the family rules until one breaks those bond of law by what? If a family agrees to be bond by who is in the house of a person then one is bound by those rules, if one is outside the home, is those law still applicable. Ask the Mafia family who rules do they live by and code of law in the world in which they live. How is law define? I am sitting wondering how many laws were made in two months for children who constantly drove their parents crazy. How many sat their children in front of a video game just for peace and quiet, and now banned them from the house to the yard to have social distancing for a few minutes of peace and quiet within the walls. How many parents learned how controlling their own children were or even spouse within two months time and even three. How many newly weds enjoyed that time they will perhaps never have again. Why did the mafia have rules? To protect their family wall of trust and keep it function in the world of crime.

Does family laws violate faith? in some culture it does. You must believe exactly like each other to live with in their commune. One faith must be exactly the same to develope perhaps in their opinion unadulterate faith. Once that code is broke chastisement of something occurs to correct the problem or the person is cast out and in some cases killed. Paul when speaking to the church was trying to set the people free from many types of laws that plagued their world. The law of sin was the only that in truth could stop one in their tracks. In other words the freedom of forgiveness and acceptance of forgiveness was needed. If we can forgive someone their sin, or when we find this teacher with sin, do we cast him out.

Many churches struggle with gay rights, when a gay person wants to teach or preach. No trouble them sitting in the pew and being a member. Nor a person caught in continual adultery should they be allowed to teach or in our world be president. What the status shown of american presidents who had one affair in their life time or sexual assault. What if that is in the church world. Do we just forgive and tell the person to repent and be receive back into position? Being free from sin does it come with consequences in society, in some cases. Other things like a simple mistake is often forgiven especially if everyone else has done it. How many criminals could be set free from politicians who got away with the crime the criminal did that never faced time.

When laws of society fail is when laws of society are not upheld, but no one wants stiff laws that can not be flexible when reasoning can be justified by circumstance. Is the law of separation from God real, it all began in the garden with the first separation from paradise. However interesting thing was God physically in the presents of Adam and Eve when they sinned, it appears not, perhaps God being all seeing already knew but he chose not to prevent it. He allowed Adam and Eve to make a decision of disobedience, giving them consequences for their action. With that all mankind is separated from heaven, from God's garden, but not God creation. God even designs a place for the devil and his friends. Yet earth is a place man has said God come live with us by building temples, churches and other buildings to confine God. Man desires confine God to a place of worship and allow themselves to do whatever on the outside of the dwelling place of God.

Folks it does not work that way. God set us free from sin, he expects us to be better because he gives us his Spirit we know how to love, show mercy and even patience, kindness and so forth because of his Spirit. God wants to be free from man confining him to a place of worship. He only confine by man ideology not a reality of being confined. You can not confine God, or corner him because you angry with God or because you desire to sin. God wants to be Lord of your life and to enable you to resist temptation of sin as his children, but first he wants to say if you sin you have advocator called Jesus who paid the price for your sin. Lines are drawn because we make them. For example if you look at someone and say they act so perfect, I can not associate with them because they appear to be a goody two shoes. Your opinion is they are perfect, not that they themselves think they are perfect. Meaning the opinion of someone has no bearing on the opinion someone has of themselves. Teachers are often put in that position, but once their humanity is shown what occurs, they are rejected and crucified in some cases, or loved and forgiven.

Despite how the world treats a believer in faith there is nothing that will keep them from the love of God once they receive Christ has Lord and Savior. To receive Christ Lord and Savior our strive is to live for Jesus. To live in his perfection when possible, but our humanity is sure to show at some point. It the same mentality when family laws become so restrictive that a teen rebels against their parents willing to pay the consequences to get their way. Then once doing so either feel guilty or not but either way they pay the consequences for their action. It is a choice one makes. Yet for a believer sin is like adding one more strip to Christ back or one more gasp of breath feeling all the pain and weight to Jesus, so their strive should be not to sin.

If the world would ever understand Christianity is not only about faith but a disciplined life style by choice, then the world will understand that also within that discipline life style there is many freedoms that does not cause a believer to sin. Those things are fine in which to do. God never desired us to be shut from fun, or enjoying things in life, Only not to shut God out of our life, or out of our living. To Praise God in all we do, and to give glory to God for all the blessings bestowed. To worship even through the pain, giving it all to Jesus during our trials in life.

Think for a moment those worshipping in bubble cars, God confined you to a bubble and he outside in the open air. How big a yard a church as can be seen by how many metal chairs will fit outside in a yard. Some can not do it but others sure can. Either invite God into your church as well as your heart, confine him to your bubble or let him on the street corner as well as inside and outside the home. For God to arise in the heart of man, he must dwell where ever his Spirit rest. God wants his love to fill the universe from one side of the earth to encompass it to show is light and love. Are you there yet. Where are we to go the highways and by ways of life and let God's light shine.

Dear Heavenly Father, protect your children to live in the comfort and confinement of faith not as prisoners but in freedom knowing our mistakes are paid for and that seperation from you has been resolved and that one day we will live in a place perpared for your people. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: Ephesians 2:14-22 KJV
14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;
15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;
16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:
17 And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.
18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.
19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:
22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.
