Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Luke 21:20-28 KJV
20 And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.
21 Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.
22 For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.
23 But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.
24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.
25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;
26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

Heaven the home Christians hope for in our world. The hope the dream of eternity with God. Yes I do think the way society sees God fearing people with religiousity and legalistic control, can make heaven appear scary instead of pleasant. Yet if one study scripture and see a God of love the idea of heaven is far greater desired. If you only see God's judgment it can cause fear of meeting one's maker. Yet heaven should not be feared by the Christian. Jesus paid the price for eternal judgment already. As tornadoes and storms make our news and even effect the lives of Americans, one might wonder is this the end. Disaster affect the world around us, our thoughts of judgment coming seems to plague the church world. Yet it is prophesy of storms and troublesome times is only a reminder of the wrath of God to come. No one can ignore the signs of our day or even yesteryear of Jewish people being scattered across the globe only to be going home in even the modern world.

We know that terrible times will be at hand when the return of Jesus comes in a cloud. The other day I heard a report of ufos on the east coast. More military training perhaps. However something we got to remember what will the day of Christ return be like. Will the radio, tv and computers be shouting a man and a group of people are descending upon the world. Or will the media be screaming people are floating up toward that cloud. Grab hold and don't let go of the next person you see sail up into the sky. Well the awe of this sight be to great for the world or will the grief and tears begin to flow as they realize they are still sitting on the ground. The horror for the believers of the knowledge of those being left behind. I do not think anyone really consider the grief ot the knowledge of seeing love one's still on the ground. Perhaps no one will be thinking on these things, just rejoicing at not being left behind. While those look from below weeping and crying for there soul is lost. How many people have been rescued from the coming devastation upon the earth. How many people have been prepared for Christ return. The number of Jews is 144000 and the gentiles to numberous to count. The number small compared to how many people have come and gone upon the earth.

Let us as believers weep today for those that will be left behind, For those that still have a chance to believe. Let us pray for the souls of those that don't know Jesus and testify of God's saving grace. As time draws nigh for Christ return let us know the things that we see must happen. It might not be today or tomorrow but Christ is returning one day.

Dear Heavenly Father remind us of your saving hope of seeing your Son return for your people. Give us that hunger to share the Gospel of Christ with others, so they too have that hope. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study for Devotion: Revelations 7:1-10 KJV
1 And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.
2 And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea,
3 Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.
4 And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.
5 Of the tribe of Juda were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Reuben were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Gad were sealed twelve thousand.
6 Of the tribe of Aser were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Nepthalim were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Manasses were sealed twelve thousand.
7 Of the tribe of Simeon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Levi were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Issachar were sealed twelve thousand.
8 Of the tribe of Zabulon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Joseph were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Benjamin were sealed twelve thousand.
9.After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;
10 And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.
