Daily Devotions: by Christina Farris

Ephesians 1:3-23 KJV
(3) Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
(4) According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
(5) Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
(6) To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
(7) In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
(8) Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;
(9) Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:
(10) That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:
(11) In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:
(12) That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
(13) In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
(14) Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
(15) Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints,
(16) Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;
(17) That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
(18) The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
(19) And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
(20) Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
(21) Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
(22) And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
(23) Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

Believers will be the foundation of the earth to come. One thing to grasp is a time to come, and not the present. Yet if we are adopted by God then he does not cast out. He sent his Son to redeem us for salvation. We were predestine for salvation, but not all receive because of their own choosing. It be easier on God if he force us into submission to His will, but He does not. Instead it is a choice to be saved. Upon being saved God seals us with the Holy Spirit of promise and fill us with His Spirit. Our prayer and hope needs to be for the God to give the spirit of wisdom and revelation of Him. That you will grow in knowledge and understanding of who He is. Something we can pray for other believers as well as ourselves. A man once taught an eight year old to pray for wisdom and understanding. When those teen years hit rebellion came late in those years, but God was able to use it to teach about humanity that can not be learned in those younger years. When we see young Christians rebelling, instead of complaining as God to use and guard the heart of these children. For his glory. That they will not sell themselves to the world but will learn by others mistakes as will as minor mistakes that won’t effect there lives beyond life lessons of a lifetime.

God’s seal and protection does not stop us from being human or enslaved in such a way that one does not have a choice in life. God by the Holy Spirit speaks to our heart about sin as we commit an act, or finish act of sin. Our ears are not always attentive to God’s Spirit. The easiest story to understand how God effects man by the Spirit is when God speaks and warns Cain not to sin. Cain made a free choice to sin with God’s warning him.

One can think of Salvation as joining God’s army, or being enlisted before being called to serve. Every boy of sixteen is called into service of the USA, yet he is not required to serve, unless, he is called up through a draft. That draft call is only used in a state of emergency. Most of our military join willfully or because it gets them out of some other kind of trouble. Yet in Christ military that service call is upon salvation to testify of becoming saved. To test of Christ redeeming love in one’s life.

We become a child of God and sealed and marked for eternity of salvation before the throne of God as being one of Jesus children. One of the body of Christ is part of being sealed by the Holy Spirit. To be sealed is to marked by God with a mark of protection. Though Cain is protected from harm, he not protect through eternity. Christians are marked for eternity, but no mark from protection from the elements of this world.

You are a child of God if you are saved by the redemption through Christ Jesus who died for your sins and paid the price through his suffering for you and me. His blood poured out for you and me. His nailed hands to the cross for you and me. Our hope secure through Jesus our King, sealed and marked by His Spirit, who buries our sin with his death and we rise to victory with our Lord.

Dear Heavenly Father forgive us our sin and as each person praying receives your word as truth. Enable those reading to believe in Jesus and to confess to you their sin as they receive Christ as their Lord and Savior for forgiveness of sin. That they will not only know they were marked but they are sealed by your Spirit in their heart and soul. That they marked by your grace upon receiving Jesus as Lord. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study for Devotion: 2 Corinthians 1:20-22 KJV
(20) For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.
(21) Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God;
(22) Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.
