|Publish Good News
Daily Devotions: by Christina Farris
Hard way to start the month of May, but here we go talking about God being vengeful and jealous God. Then we get to the end of the chapter and it talks about the feet of those that publish good news. I sit and wonder does anyone seek destruction or desire destruction. The truth is Nineveh had a warning years ago, this was at the time of Babylon in 607-606 BC. Nineveh had been preached to during the days of Jonah and a revival broke out that Jonah understood not. Yet here comes the prophet Nahum preaching the wrath of God on Nineveh and no one is listening. When the President in our nation says we should be concern about Nuclear weapons in Korea, who sleeps. Yet something I want to remind us is though Korea being an atheist country the leader was taught outside his country. Meaning he had other influences besides just Korea. Is he someone our nation might be able to help in a different way. Instead of the rising of our enemy and threats of war, could peace come once more. Korea can change, but will the world let it without war. I am not sure, but I do know it be wise for the sake of innocent lives to think on it. We out number and we out flank them in military power, yet peace is better then war.
Israel watched the enemies of God fall all around them. God power is shown through scripture how storms rage at the feet of God. How big is our God that storms of the earth just flow across his feet as someone stepping in a creek or the edge of the ocean. Yet He small enough to fit inside our hearts. How lovely is those that preach good news. Good news of victory, good news of peace. Good news of silence of the world around us instead of war. A call to Godís people to continue the feast days and religious practices of faith, but a failure to call the people to their knees in repentance. Destruction comes without unrepented hearts. Destruction comes to those that fail to listen to God. God is jealous and vengeful and when angered, his wrath comes to those who fear him not.
Where are you today, do you reverence God and desire peace with all mankind. Remembering the wolves will lay down with the lambs, and children play over snake hole, to bring about peace. Christ came bring peace and message of peace. Will the message of love pass to the generation of heathens, despite their unbelief. Do they not understand love and hope. Do they understand peace and safety for both them and us.
Dear Heavenly Father grant us the hope and peace your message of salvation brings to those that will trust in you, fearing your ability to revenge and our power and might. Bring the message of peace to the world Lord, and the hope of faith. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
Continual Scripture Study for Devotion:Romans 10:14-15 KJV
(14) How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
(15) And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
