Daily Devotions: by Christina Farris

Galatians 3:6-29 KJV
(6) Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.
(7) Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.
(8) And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.
(9) So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.
(10) For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.
(11) But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.
(12) And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.
(13) Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
(14) That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
(15) Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it be but a man's covenant, yet if it be confirmed, no man disannulleth, or addeth thereto.
(16) Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.
(17) And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.
(18) For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise.
(19) Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.
(20) Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one.
(21) Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law.
(22) But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.
(23) But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.
(24) Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
(25) But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.
(26) For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
(27) For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
(28) There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
(29) And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Yesterday, I wrote about the law of circumcision. That Abraham was saved through faith. Jesus was cursed for any man hung from a tree by old testament law defiled Israel, unless buried before sunset. Jesus the Son of God how could he be cursed, only in the since of death on the cross, but without dying He could not rise to victory. Yet the punishment he bore for our sins was great upon his shoulders. One might ask why would the Son of God have to go through the price of the cross if Abraham only needed faith. Was not faith enough for the Gentile? Why not teach by the law? These answers are simple ones to answer. One Job was gentile saved by faith, his righteous coming by faith in God. There were proselytes to the Jewish faith. Time of Gideon he set up the priesthood for the Moabites. What interesting is throughout the ages gentiles were welcome into the Jewish faith, however the Moabites were left on the outside of Israel camp because they killed their children in worship to idols.

The gentiles were never left out if they were believers and obeyed the law of faith. Yet not all obeyed the law of faith and yet believed. No they were not devils that believed and trembled, they were people of faith the worldview was different. There laws were different, but they had faith, yet they could not be yoked into the commonwealth of Israel by the law. Roman soldiers had faith in God but were not part of Israel necessarily. There ancestry going back to Noah ark and the family line that expanded toward Greece and Rome.

To deny that were not others of faith is hypocrisy of religious zealots. To think Israel was not bilingual and not multicultural is just as hypocritical as thinking it was ethnicity of one race of people. Even Ethiopians and some of African regions were believers, but not followers of necessarily the law of Israel. No doubt among any good group of people the laws that were universal stood out. Yet there be laws that would be established do to issues that arose by certain tribes and cultures of people that might not of in others. Jesus came to undivided the cultures and reestablish the importance of faith. Much needed in post, Babylon, Persia, Greek and Roman culture. Each culture impressing the value of the one true God. Jesus came to break done the law and reestablish the law of faith. That faith remained with or without law and it matter not if someone was Jew or Gentile.

In John three it says as Moses lift up the serpent so must the Son of Man be lifted up. All that believed in the Son of man would be saved. The serpent was on a bronz pole. Serpents had bitten Israel and some died, and they begged for God’s healing. God told Moses to put a serpent on the pole made of bronze and anyone that looked at the serpent would be saved. When mankind looked at the Son of Man who’s name is Jesus they would be saved. God gave His Son to die for our sins. To take away the diseases and poisons that harm our life. Those disease and poisons that caused our own death was placed on Jesus shoulders, the sin was crucified on the cross and buried with Jesus. The sin itself was gone, and yet Jesus rose up again, which is a symbol of victory. Jesus coming to unite all nations under the curtain of faith. Came to reestablish faith and not the law of legalism. It matter no the color of your skin, how much money you have, or sex, God just wants you to believe in Him through His Son Jesus. God desires for all people to be filled with His Spirit. God gave the Gentiles the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Dear Heavenly Father unite us in faith of Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Faith that has no division of humanity, but the establishment of hope by your Spirit. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
