Time Of Christ: The Judgment
05/14/2016

Daily Devotions: by Christina Farris

Matthew 12:38-45 KJV
(38) Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee.
(39) But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:
(40) For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
(41) The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.
(42) The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.
(43) When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.
(44) Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.
(45) Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.

How long does the world weight for the return of Christ, only God knows the answer. Yet Jesus talks about judgment being like at the time of Jonah. Mercy was found at the time of Jonah along with grace, yet the judgment of the south would come and destroy with a vengeance. What is Jesus talking about exactly a time of judgment a time of one greater then Jonah be on the earth. Jesus is speaking of himself as being greater then Jonah.

As I prepared by doing a little research this AM my mind began to wonder about time frames of events. Jesus speaks of time of destruction to come, but also of judgment of his day. No one wants to think of Jesus being a type of judge while He walked this earth. Yet it is the repentance of the generation of those that walked with Jesus that seems hard to grasp. People came to Jesus and asked for mercy and Jesus healed them. Yet it is more then that. Jesus walked the earth and people flocked to him, but it more then that. Jesus came not to condemn, but his presence brought judgment to the heart of man to those that sought his wisdom and healing. Those that asked for mercy found grace as Jesus taught and healed.

Jonah came preaching to Nineveh only for Nineveh to repent. Nineveh believed God’s wrath would come if they repented not. Yet Nineveh was destroyed later because of corruption. How many generation pass before judgment of destruction comes after the judge of peace is present. The rise of the enemy after Christ resurrection comes with the destruction of the temple and persecution of believers through out the world that spread the Gospel. As Christian grew and even hierarchies of the known world received Christ the world began to change for Christ. Yet we still live in a world where both Christian, Jew, Islamic and other religions rise and fall. Christianity only rises when faith is real and not imitation apery of faith. False Christianity with works some will still become believers. It is seen in early childhood of child like faith or unbelief that adult world can understand how children mimick their parents in worship style. Even the mentally challenge mimick their worship leaders, and yet might not ever grasp faith and some believe they perhaps have more faith then the average adult.

How precious is the child like faith of reality of who Christ is that hopes for the mountains to shake with prayer. When it occurs even the child is amazed because God moved a mountain. When Christ arises in the heart of man, the devil will try and destroy. As long as the aper exist the Gospel will be spread by devils. Yet the people of faith will continue to rise up as God enables by His Spirit. God’s mercy is on the righteous and repented heart. The generation of caring and love not just in deeds but in faith in God rising with each step. Many good people go to hell, because they have no faith and repent not. It is the horror of this world.

Dear Heavenly Father move those mountains in our world. Knowing Jesus came with judgment that brought repentance and hope. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
