Daily Devotions: by Christina Farris

Luke 11:5-13 KJV
(5) And he said unto them, Which of you shall have a friend, and shall go unto him at midnight, and say unto him, Friend, lend me three loaves;
(6) For a friend of mine in his journey is come to me, and I have nothing to set before him?
(7) And he from within shall answer and say, Trouble me not: the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give thee.
(8) I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will rise and give him as many as he needeth.
(9) And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
(10) For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
(11) If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?
(12) Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?
(13) If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

As the internet highway began to emerge in the early nineties to mainstream America, the computer networking from the rich business world to the poor became global success. The magic genie box grew up over night. The box one could go to and find anything one desire, to anything one could hope to find was at a finger tip. The availability at a price of affordability of each individual though it be findable. The seeking of toys, gadgets, and information highway grew to around the world. Though computers are older then the nineties and the information highway older then consumer realizes, because of the availability inside the business world, one can only imagine what it is like for the new users of our world to use these computers to answer any question out there. The information to vast to even retain in the human brain. People trying to absorb as much of information as they are capable of storing in the brain, only to slowly erase important data or put it in zip file to restore later to normal capacity to contain past information or files. The memory returning as each file is released to one’s brain yet slower then the computer or mobile device.

Put in a word and search the net, get and answer over the net. Those answers coming as fast at the computer search engine will work, but what it can not do is build a personal relationship with God. One can solve many Bible questions, but can not gain a relationship with a personal Savior without understand the need to communicate with God. A personal computer might learn to respond and solve issues on its on to a degree but it will never have a relationship with a person of any true meaning. You might teach your computer to say good morning, or even to remind you of the long list of chores, but it not human.

The need for human contact easily replaced with social media to a degree, but it lacks the human embrace. It is a time filler of lost and new friends one would like to keep up with. A short time frame to share pictures, and life mishaps. Yet can not take the place of the human contact of touch. A cyber hug might cheer you but can not replace the grip of the human touch.

The relationship with God is far greater then the computer world. God gives us answers in the right time frame and not always instantly as the computer age. Timing is key to life many problems. It is the adventure of a life time with God. God interaction sought with prayer, but with felt by the power of His Spirit. His Spirit being better then the computer. The Spirit hug and embrace being more then emotion. God embrace coming to not only heart but the confirmation to the mind with information only God can provide and our human can not retain. No need for math skills one just types it in a calculator, no need for reading hardly one can read pictures, and learn to use a narrator to read anything online. Yet the computer can not talk to the inner soul of man. It can solve the heart condition of the need of a living God.

The mediation at a stone idol might give one the ability to think and fix life problems, but it will never solve the spiritual issue of eternity with God. Show host will try and declare a spirituality without God. A spirituality of inner peace and sanctum, only failing to understand God wants a personal relationship with a person through belief in Him and His Son with each of us. He wants to forecast to our hearts the events of our life to come on this world as well as eternity in the here after. This relationship built on trust and learning to seek Him for advise, answers and solutions. Problems solved not by technology but learning to listen to God and his timetable. Can a person knocking on a friends door always provide a piece of bread, no but a friend will do anything in their power to help in times of need even in the middle of the night.

God is our neighbor, He live above us in the apartment building of the world He created. He lives in the penthouse called heaven and He also lives in the heart of all that believe. He desires us to ask for daily food, and our daily provision, yet he knows our needs and desires are beyond daily. He wants to open doors that can not be shut for His glory and honor. For His glory to shine in our life, so others will see Him and know they can come to know Him. Our fallacy can only help people understand that if our imperfection still allows a relationship with God, their imperfection too won’t matter beyond the need of turning away from sin and asking of forgiveness.

Do we lack the ability to have because we ask not God. Are we asking the wrong person by not asking God or seeking Him. We can not find true solution to our problems without seeking God. Why is a person refusing to seek, ask and find if God is willing to freely give? Is it a lack of faith? The need of proof it is God and not one’s human ability that ultimately is given by God. Where are we failing? If we ask are we willing to wait the arrival of the dream?

Dear Heavenly Father help us to ask you for our needs and may grant more then needs but our humble desires. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
