11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. Two images of the Christ, is clearly seen from Revelations to Isaiah. Yet what we fail to grasp is how different these two images seem. No I did not get the order backwards, because to read Revelations we also have to understand some of the Old Testament. To even began to grasp Christ return we need to know at least the beginning of Acts and end of Mark and Luke's Gospel which states that Christ was taken up into heaven. Matthew and John do not tell this part, for whatever reason it left out, carried over into Acts. Yet we also see Book of John and the Book of Revelation written by the same author, the Apostle John. These two books tell the events of Christ life and the events to be yet fulfilled with Christ's return. Revelations goes over several events in a language not common folk or readers of his day, but it contains the testimony of Jesus. When we grasp it mainly about Christ second coming and the message to the church's for preparation with warnings of events to follow when unheeded, we can begin to understand Christ return is maybe sooner then we imagine and yet maybe still longer yet then we hope. To understand this pandemic is only a birthing pains of the judgment of God to come, meaning man invention causing this crisis and not God, what is God preparing to send upon the people of the earth. It is a scary thought. Yet today all I want to do is take time and look at Christ name in both Revelation and Isaiah and skip any scary stuff for those that know not Jesus.
Sometimes if we grasp just the simpliest things about a prophetic book we can grasp some of the harder things. Never be scared to read or study prophecy. Just be prepared to not fully grasp it in its full glory, until the day of redemption as a believer. Jesus already come and will come again comes with one main title Almighty God, Now these titles given and repeat in heaven and from heaven in Isaiah. Yet Revelations shows Christ on a white horse ready for battle. Isaiah shows Jesus as a baby coming being called mighty God. The title Mighty God implies power and ability to do anything. The term Almighty meaning to even destroy the enemy. Christ came first to destory the enemy called death, his second coming with destroy unbelief. I think we need to reexamine God's idea of destruction and peace. Does God destroy the answer is yes, but does Christ destroy, yes by being the Word of God. "The Word" sits on a white horse and "The Word of God" is called Faithful and Truth. "In righteousness he judges and makes war." Righteous based on believing God. Ever since the time of Abraham. Abraham believed God and it was counted to him as righteousness.
Many of the titles like Word of God can be found also in John writting in John 1:1-14. However does any other book or writer use this term for Jesus/God. The answer is not that I have located even in passed or present reading, but what I have found is God's word alone is salvation, for many who believed God found hope and protection if they obeyed it. The importance of the word of God is to bring salvation to those who will trust and believe in God. Yet we see the word of God manifest in the flesh in John 1, and our hope lies totally in faith in Christ Jesus, why because in Revelation and through out the letters of Paul and the other epistles we see the amazing hope of salvation if we learn to trust in Jesus, and not just in the stories of the Gospel. Jesus is the Mighty God spoke of in the book of Isaiah which is Old Testament. The prophesy of the Mighty coming in the New Testament. Yet his Word still established through Christ coming and belief in Jesus still important because it His Word fulfilled in coming in human flesh. Coming as prophesied. The word taking form.
Yet the error is not the word taking form, but that in the begining God said let there be light and the light was. Is the light God of course not. Yet it shows as God created in Genesis 1:1 that his power to perform by his word existed. Yet after thousands of years we need that prophesy of Christ why to prove God ability to create through his word, and manifest his word still. It like someone saying I can do this or that, but until they do it, they can not be fully believed. With the evidence of the prophesy fulfilled people knew the hope was evident, no Jesus was not believed even with the evidence of wonders, miracles and teaching. What if it occured today? Oh it does we hear the story of Jesus how many of us believe even with studying prophesy. We read the Bible like J.R Tolken book called the Hobit, Lord Of The Rings, and I think the other is called Two Towers. Yet we fail to understand the Bible is not a fable, or interesting read.
Well you only believe if you have full evidence of the Mighty God through his word coming to pass with Christ second coming. If He comes not you miss the hope of salvation. You missed the hope of salvation by waiting for his appearance. At some point you need to just believe God. How do we believe something we not seen, or physically heard. Some maybe asking these hard questions in modern times. Does obeying God's word work? To love and not to hate reduce your enemies and bring peace to your world. Does being honest, truthful bring solid work and money to your pocket in the business world. What does dishonesty gain for you. God's word has value even to the heathens of our land. Those of us that believe, well we know of God and must share it, Share Christ's love and do so with his grace and mercy. Sharing the word of hope.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for demonstration of your word through Old And New Testament, That if we hold to our faith that your word will come to pass and is our protection. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
Continual Scripture Study:Isaiah 9:4-7 KJV
4 For thou hast broken the yoke of his burden, and the staff of his shoulder, the rod of his oppressor, as in the day of Midian.
5 For every battle of the warrior is with confused noise, and garments rolled in blood; but this shall be with burning and fuel of fire.
6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.
