Time Of Christ: Prophesy Over Jerusalem By Christ
3/25/2017

Daily Devotions: by Christina Farris

Luke 19:41-48 KJV
(41) And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it,
(42) Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes.
(43) For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side,
(44) And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.
(45) And he went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold therein, and them that bought;
(46) Saying unto them, It is written, My house is the house of prayer: but ye have made it a den of thieves.
(47) And he taught daily in the temple. But the chief priests and the scribes and the chief of the people sought to destroy him,
(48) And could not find what they might do: for all the people were very attentive to hear him.

No one can deny the historical persecution of the Jews after the time of Christ. It is the time of Christ that we must decide if what Jesus is speaking of is prophesy, past, future, current or all three. When the Jews did not believe God destruction would come. When they believed God but refused to change their ways, destruction came. The most unmovable place is scripture is when Jesus wept over Jerusalem. Weeping not for himself but for the persecution that would befall Jerusalem because of his crucifixion.

The persecution of the Jewish people is real and has been going on since the time of Christ crucifixion and must be stopped. Truth is God had blinded his people to truth because of their sin. Yet those that did believe also faced persecution for their belief. In other words God showed no perspective of person concerning the Jews as far as belief and unbelief when it came to what would occur after the crucifixion to the people of historical faith and unbelief before the Time of Christ. The exile only one example of time of unbelief in Jewish history and believers being among the unbelievers.

The time following Christ ascension into heaven, came a great persecution of the church, Yet there would be persecution of the Jews after that had never been so before. In fact the holocaust over million Jews died. Yet before that time in 90 AD the Temple was completely destroyed. Our minds can not imagine the tears of our Savior as He looked upon Jerusalem because He loved His people. If Christ loved us, why then did judgment have to come to His people.

The truth is God’s wrath is on the unbeliever, but persecution of God’s people is based on the world’s hate of God’s people. For the world understood not God’s love for them until Christ died for them. And as the world understood the Christ came because of His love for them, many would receive the Gospel that was suppose to be share by the Jews, but instead persecution of the sinful world had been.

Persecution has no place in society but it goes on all the time. It has no place in the saved person’s life or even a sinner. The world’s desire for peace and yet there is no peace because of division, yet we all want freedom. Yet freedom can not come because of terrorist attacks in our own nation and around the world. Some attacks are caused by people that are mentally ill, or people that joined some form of hate group.

It is time the world forgives the Jews and the Jews forgive the world for the blindness of each other of who Jesus is, was and still is. Jesus cried because of what would happen because of his crucifixion and how his resurrection would change the world. We all walk in unbelief at some point in our life despite what we saw or heard was real. It is called shock and the world lives daily in shock based on images seen on Television or heard on the radio. God’s hand still on his church and He will protect the people of faith.

Dear Heavenly Father, the time of what we can not change on comes to what we really can change in our current world. May the truth of prophesy in scripture become so real to the believer that it will hold the person’s faith in check and not dry to unbelief. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study for Devotion:Jeremiah 13:15-17 KJV
(15) Hear ye, and give ear; be not proud: for the LORD hath spoken.
(16) Give glory to the LORD your God, before he cause darkness, and before your feet stumble upon the dark mountains, and, while ye look for light, he turn it into the shadow of death, and make it gross darkness.
(17) But if ye will not hear it, my soul shall weep in secret places for your pride; and mine eye shall weep sore, and run down with tears, because the LORD'S flock is carried away captive.
