06/28/2021 Daily Devotions: by Christina Farris 5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. 9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. 12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. The most confusing part of scripture is the unity of three personifications of the Godhead bodily. All three are one and yet all three distinctly give power to one another as individuals. The second doctrine that can and is confusing is the doctrine of Dispensationalism, which some believe that Satan was before God which is the lie of the Satan. If one believes God is in control from the begining of Creation, he is first being and created the world by his word, as well as heaven/paradise, then one can not hold to the lie that Satan even rules the earth. It is the biggest lie of the devil. However I think most people will agree that believe in Christ, the devil seems to rise into power at times and yet devils do fall and God's power seems to rise and fall in the world in which we live in too. Where is the line made. Evil has a day of destruction, God's word will always reign. Yet God's fall and rise in power is not because of his weakness, it has to do with man falling away to chase after their own desire and lust of the flesh called sin. God in his wisdom sent his Son Jesus in human form/his word/ to demonstrate both his love and his compassion on man, but also to show his Son's obedience to death on the cross also came with reward of eternal lie. Jesus would not only die, but would rise to victory and ascend forty days later into heaven to rule in his heavenly kingdom. Do we look for a kingdom of God to come, or do we look for a king that is Christ like. In one day that Christ turned the money changers tables over was enough for people not to want a rebellion on earth, for Christ to take the throne on earth. They loved the idea of Christ, but not willing to sacrifice the rule of man. What would it take for Christ to take authority as a man on earth, a rebellion against the government and against religious leaders that wanted him to die for the nation.(prophesy in John 11). There is a point Christ coming as a man and not fully who he was did not limit his power, or authority, only made him into a humble servant, no more then a prophet as he walked the earth, though he was more then a prophet. Those who observed Christ, followed Christ knew who he was. Yet he would not take his rightful position on earth only in heaven. When Christ prayed Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed it be thy name. Thy kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven.(Matthew 6:9-10 KJV paraphrased by me). Christ desired that his word would be in power as it is in heaven. Meaning that the people of our nations and world would follow the word of God/ and Christ in the flesh. Some people were not ready for God's kingdom to reign on earth. Yet it does reign on earth through the Spirit and word of God. The authority of God was and is in control. God has a plan for you and I that involves the earth and heaven as a child of God. When Christ returns every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. Christ is already Lord here, but not everyone understands that. They are still rebelling against God because they know not God is in control, that Christ reigns and will reign til all enemies are under his feet. That why sharing Christ and his word is so important. God's word/ God's Son in the flesh is the greatest love letter to mankind. If we can only see the spiritual part transforming of the believer into the image of his Son. One day when the Christian world is ready Christ will appear a second time, the world will never be ready. When the last soul that will repent comes, God will send his Son back to earth. Christ authority will reign as it does in heaven. Christ set us free from a yoke of bondage. Dear Heavenly Father help us to tell about Jesus and to tell what your word says about him. That we will trust in the will of God the Father to bring about the kingdom of Christ on earth as it is in heaven. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
