Immortality of Light

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

2 Timothy 1:5-10 KJV
5 When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also.
6 Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.
7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
8 Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;
9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,
10 But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:

Timothy raised and taught the gospel by his grandmother lois and mother Eunice, his father was a greek(story in Acts), then Paul began to teach him more about scripture. Then Paul ordained him by the laying on of hands a formality by ministers for ministry, to bestowe or give the Holy Spirit to the individual. Meaning the prayer over individual going intot he work of God. It a beautiful cermony but it also comes with much responsibility, because it a prayer that the Holy Spirit will fill and empower a person through out the ministry God has called them too. This type of ceremony not done by the local body, but by ministers that influenced an individual in their call, as shepherds or guardians of each other in brotherhood or sisterhood. In other words these are ministers that are ordain to care for the church and the church body.

Paul layed hands on Timothy for service for God, not for Paul. God gives the believer not a Spirit of fear for ministry but the power of the Spirit to love and to have a sound mind. A minister needs a sound mind, after some tales and stories and events in their life and events and stories of others. I have yet to meet a minister that totally sound. No that not true, there many ministers that are clear, very wise, understanding and aware of the work of God in the church world and know God is moving freely by the Spirit to demonstrate wisdom, love, understanding, and bring about level headness in the work involved in the church world.

The ministry of love began before the world was created. It continued even into Old Testament. Solomon called to be king, ask God for wisdom, and two women were fighting over a baby, because one woman's baby had died but another had lived. The woman were brought before King Solomon and he told them take and split the baby in half, and immediately the real mother said no give the baby to the other woman, while the other woman said go ahead. King Solomon gave the baby to the rightful mother. The idea is what is love and what is wisdom, it was King Solomon harsh words that proved who the real mother was. The other woman cared nothing for that baby and was jealous/mentally unstable for having lost her baby.

What the point when God calls a person to be in position he gives them understanding, soundness of mind to reason out certain situations that others don't have time to figure out. Not that they could not, it is they do not have time to sort out through the process of what is right or wrong in some situations. This wisdom comes from word of God the word before it was even written down, the wisdom of truth, the wisdom of understanding the wisdom given to those ordain for leadership by God, to demonstrate the Gospel of love. God is Wisdom, God is truth, and God is love.

When Christ appeared who abolished death and brought life and immortality to what, the gospel of love. Love does not die, it continues on, even when man wants to destroy love as they killed Christ only for him to rise back up, and continue to minister to the people, that is love. Grace is love, grace is something that will continue even when Christ returns, even though God's wrath will follow.

What am I trying to convey here, love is immortal, and God is love, God sent his own Son to show his love and with Christ resurrection it showed love, that could not destroy God's love for man, for Christ rose up after being on the cross and saying Father forgive them they know not what they do. How much more could God love after humanity crucified his only begotten Son. He loved us enough to only wait til the third day to rise again and continue to show love through the power of the Holy Spirit. That same Spirit that teaches us to love like God loves, unconditionally and without anger or malice toward another. Love can be letting go, for God turned man over to his sin, because they loved not God or the things of God. Love is something not only ministers but all believers learn to do in time for God teaches all his people to be holy and to love for the work of the Gospel, to continue for the purpose God has called us not by our works, but for his purpose and grace.

What is God's purpose but demonstrate his love toward others, to show his compassion to others for the hope and grace of that unconditional love to each generation, since the beginning of time. We see God's love through Solomon's wisdom, we see God's love through Moses sacrificial life style for a people that were not always obedient to God and lead through the wilderness for over forty years and help them escape the Pharaoh of Egypt wrath. If you look at the apostles they went about ministering in love like Samuel, like Christ, like Elijah, and prophets of old. Telling the gospel of Jesus, healing and laying hands for others to receive not only Jesus, but God and the Holy Spirit, teaching them about who God is. The power of God not just a story, or corrective system, but something more, a miracle, wonders and impossibilites happening for the believer in Jesus. The miracles happening to convict the doubter, and enable some to believer and neve to question the work of God. God's love is the power of His Spirit to convict the lost soul of the need of a Savior. The need of unconditional love and forgiveness from God the one that hold's our life in his hands. A life he called to hear the Gospel of love.

Dear Heavenly Father, open the eyes of those that blind to the work of your hand and your unconditional love, in Jesus precious name, Amen.
