Time And Season
6/15/2020

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Ecclesiastes 3:1-22 KJV
1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
9 What profit hath he that worketh in that wherein he laboureth?
10 I have seen the travail, which God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised in it.
11 He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.
12 I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life.
13 And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God.
14 I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.
15 That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past.
16 And moreover I saw under the sun the place of judgment, that wickedness was there; and the place of righteousness, that iniquity was there.
17 I said in mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work.
18 I said in mine heart concerning the estate of the sons of men, that God might manifest them, and that they might see that they themselves are beasts.
19 For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity.
20 All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.
21 Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth?
22 Wherefore I perceive that there is nothing better, than that a man should rejoice in his own works; for that is his portion: for who shall bring him to see what shall be after him?

Job(proper name) was a man that life was perfect tell the day Satan came and said I will test you. I meet a man many years ago and have often wonder what trial laid at this man's door, for he said to me he had no problems in his life or through out his life. It kind of like say Lord I am blessed, everything is okay and I know God is going to take me through whatever comes, but I never been through anything but regular life of going to school, work and so forth and raised in a good home, what do i have to be concerned about. This young man was in in twenties or thirties. I thought about Job who worked all is life, gave to the poor and did all the benevolent work in his life that said he was a man of God by even his friends before disaster befell him. Yet disaster came not because Job own unrighteousness, but because Satan desired to test him. Yet with that testing Job found his own unrighteous through the knowledge of who God truly is. God then blessed Job because through the testing Job became more wiser about life in general, not eveyone that finds themselves in a ditch is worthy of the ditch beside the fact of being human.

Eccesiastes is written by King Solomon, Job may of lived in his father's time, I do not know for certain. However what I know is King Solomon see his wealth, his power, his kingdom, his women, and so forth in his life and looked at the things of man, that man had a season for everything in his life. He had a time to be born and time to died, a time to plant and a time to reap, a time to mourn and a time to dance, and a time to rest and a time to work. What time is it in your life this very hour. A time of God judgment on the righteous and time of God's judgment on the wicked.

Now there no escape from God's judgment, but there is a season for it, in one's life. Yet there is also a season for God's trials of faith, called, war, loss, storms and destruction. There is a time to build faith, through rejoice of prosperity, good works and acknowledge one's ability to be productive and fruitful. The positive things we love and we enjoy in that time, it is the negativity in our life we have no fruit that bears blessings, because of our attitude, our actions and our response to times of trouble.

In my own life I can not say I did everything perfect or my actions or attitude was perfect in every situation. I can say I am human, with faults of humanity within me. Job had a characteristic I lacked when going through his trial, and that is he did not cease to stop petition God concerning the reason as to why the injustice was happening. Some people blame themselves for there situation, Job question God why he deserved this injust. His need for intercessor to solve the problem. Solomon was looking at life differently has everything having a season and no one exempt necessarily from the time period in their life. Learning to go with the flow so to speak for Solomon. Yet he was looking at his wealth that could fix some issues and not others. He was looking at his wisdom and saying there seems to be a timeline for events. He was looking at history books and seeing prosperity at certain times and not others.

The past four months has been a trial on the world and many wondering perhaps why did this happen to the entire earth. No life exempt from the judgment of a disease started by man. Yet the world is looking and see the power of the fury of disease can have on the entire universe. A time for death and a time for life. Many disaster in the last 12 years struck the world with camera's filming nature's fury in the wake of horror, only to know cities are rebuilt and life goes on as if nothing happened, and yet we all now it did. We sit back and say it was only for a season, a time frame, and it is over. We do not know how many will die before Cov19 is controlled/bird flu/ Sars is fully controlled, or fixable everytime someone is sick from it almost. We know that everyone is a target and no one is necessarily exempt, but we know God is able to do the impossible. Solomon understood God's power, but was not a place of submitting to God's power, he could see the seasons of man, but not the hope within the seasons.

Whatever the season is in your life you must choose how you handle your faith in God, with or without God. Solomon could only perceive that man should enjoy the labor of his work and not worry about his eternity. He was a man that thought with the wisdom from God without the wisdom of God. For seeing the ability to rejoice over the things tangible, and not the things untangible, only makes the value of God's gift of salvation seem less important because it unclear or seem unattainable to King Solomon. Yet is it unclear to you about salvation?

When we look at our salvation in times of struggle God grace and mercy is unchanged, but trial of our faith to hold on to faith is more of challenge. The worse mistake an individual makes during a struggle is only to see faith as corporate faith, and not individual faith. Meaning God is there all the time through all trials of tribulation. Many believe this is end times of when Christ will return, but no one knows the hour of Christ return. However we can understand there is a season for our trial in faith in God and our salvation is secure, but the devil is going to try and take it from us. God's mercy, grace and power will revealed individually of his ability to keep you in faith if you only believe. For even temptation comes God's deliverance. The season maybe short or may feel like forever, God knows what we are able to handle.

Dear Heavenly Father, give us the grace to bear with the times of struggle and the help us to rejoice in the time of prosperity and happiness. Help us to strive in faith knowing your power and grace will endure to the saving of our soul if we will only believe. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: 1 Peter 1:3-25 KJV
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,
5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
6 Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:
7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:
9 Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.
10 Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:
11 Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.
12 Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.
13 Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
14 As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:
15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
17 And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear:
18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
20 Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,
21 Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.
22 Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:
23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
24 For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:
25 But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.
