Purifying 6/2/2019
Daily Devotions: by Christina Farris John 3:25-33 KJV
25 Then there arose a question between some of John's disciples and the Jews about purifying.
26 And they came unto John, and said unto him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond Jordan, to whom thou barest witness, behold, the same baptizeth, and all men come to him.
27 John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven. note
28 Ye yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but that I am sent before him.
29 He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled.
30 He must increase, but I must decrease.
31 He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all.
32 And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony.
33 He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true.

It easy to consider the value of baptism. Water baptism without the circumcision of the heart or the baptism of God's Spirit in our lives, we are only baptised in water. Water is that liquid that is only a form of coming clean. Yet something else must of taken place for the water baptism to be a testimony of faith. That something else is about believing God and coming to repentance and receive His Spirit into our lives to enable us to walk the road of faith. We need a good consciences toward God. Faith is key to a good conscience, It is being right minded in believing what God says is true.
Noah survived the flood and only eight souls were saved. Noah household believed God after and before the flood. Without faith toward God they never had detail with people that would of jeered or critized him for building the ark in the first place. One has to set their mind to what do they themselves believe about what God speaks to their heart about. If God prophesies to you about upcoming events and they come to pass, there is a reason for God to do so. He teaching you to believing what He says is true. It more then head knowledge and believing in God but the ability to take him at His word.
John believed the testimony in John 1 that God provided when He seen the Lamb Of God at the baptism of who Jesus was. John does not record the entire baptism, you need to read Mark 1:11, Matthew 3:17, and Luke 3:22. There would come a time that John would doubt before his own death. Perhaps these events not quite enough for John to believe, or maybe he was struggling because of his imprisonment. Our situations often affect our belief process, but not our heart. To have that good conscience toward God is to believe without doubt, though there will be times of doubt. There will be time of confusion. There will be times of struggle in faith. Why will there be times for those that believe, because to take God at his word does not mean life is always a bed of roses without thorns. Life is more like the bed of roses with thorns. We must consider if believing in a God even when bad things happen is necessary to receive the reward of heaven, then faith is more then bad things. When good things happen one has to grasp the power of God to destroy the enemy at the end of time.
Our conscience before salvation in Christ was not towards God. To have that conscience toward faith God is the first step of faith called belief. Salvation can only come through believing in the Messiah. things that happen in the body can be wash away, by man but purification of faith comes from God. God is the only one that can cleanse our soul and purify us for the saving our soul. God word declares belief in Christ is essential for eternal salvation. Jesus is like the ark in the story of Noah. Without faith the impossible would still have come but only for destruction. Those not believing but have been water baptized will not be saved, until they have a conscience towards God and His infallible word.
Dear Heavenly produce that faith in us to believe without doubt the victory is ours in Christ because we have believed. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.
21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:
22 Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.
