1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. For the Lord sake, we are better to strive to put away our sin, because of the work on the cross Jesus did for us. This message is short today, because simply we all sin and all fall short but our strive should not be to sin, or to do wrong, and definitely not to show imperfection because of others ready to pounce on us as a cat does his toys or a mouse. If we running the race of faith we are looking at the finish line where we see who Jesus. Some people hope to see family when they die but how many hungry to see Jesus. Well Christ is who we need to be ready to meet upon our death. The finish line is the line where Christ will be ready to reward us and stand before his Father's throne with us. It does not speak of the race of having a minister other then Jesus before us, but having the author and finisher of our faith to look to. Minister can not save you or die for your sin. Christ endure the price for our sin and sat down on the right hand of God on his throne.
Do not worry about the watchers, people are curious, people are looking to trap you and people are there just judge you, but Christ is at the finish line with open arms thrown back wide ready to receive you if you are a child of the king through belief in Jesus. Don't worry about waves on the water, worry not about the storms, instead hold to the faith of Jesus and his provision along the race course, because he knows our needs and he provides for children. Sometimes it spiritual food and sometimes it physical food. Our worries about those who are watching us is also human. They human fralities as you do. So your failings are blessings to those watching because they can see the grace of your God and Lord and Savior.
Dear Heavenly Father help us to keep our eyes so focused on you that the watchers that desire us to fail only see your grace in our life. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
