Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

1 John 2:15-29 KJV
15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.
19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.
20 But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.
21 I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth.
22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.
24 Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.
25 And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.
26 These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you.
27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.
28 And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.
29 If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.

How are we in need of our Savior more daily then not a Savior. When we tangle with the world we often find ourselves at odds even down to lingo sometimes. It that rubbing the wrong way causes tension to flair and aggravation syndrome of perhaps it that generation thing and nothing else. Then you realize it not that, it that people do not respect people as they did in years gone by. Even the older generation has gained disrespect from mimicking the younger crowd. No pun in tended. I begin to wonder if the older generation is the hypocrit because they teach not the younger ones the respect their elders before them did. Did it work back then, then it probably worked today as well. It has nothing to do with respect anymore, it had to do with something even more dangerous and is when each generation falls away from God, we see something occur a deprivation in society of a godless nation. It happens from generation to generation the call and the need of God in school, society and life. How can we prevent a godless nation and the answer we can not. Each generation must learn who God is not to them but to society. Sometimes it is taught only by scripture to others that they must be jerked away from the streets to know the difference of God's love and others have to taste the street to know the difference of God. Our world has many antichrist that look like a Messiah and is not, they teach the law of love, compassion, hope and even how to behave without the knowledge of God or His Son.

The antichrist denies Jesus, but believer believe in God's Son. It hard to grasp the full meaning of this speech in regards to faith. Where does your faith in God apply to society, it one more life striving to live for Jesus, however there are those days that our actions, attitude go uncheck never showing society or the world the way of faith. It is prehaps because we ignore the Holy Spirit speaking to our hearts on those things we want to rant or rave about one more time. No one live a perfect life before the world except Jesus, so lets begin with our imperfect life. That apology, that ability to speak truth even when we ourselves find ourselves wrong. It not acting godlike, but admitting our imperfection and our humanity. That God is still working in and on our life. Our salvation secure, but God is not done with us yet. He even corrects our behavior and are actions.

The other day this one cashier kept saying baby girl to at least dozen older women, until finally someone stopped in their tracks to say yeah i am old no longer little. There was no disrespect intended, but it was the attitude that caught the woman. She showed as much respect as she could to the young cashier as she could without being disrespectful, and the young cashier took the hint, she need a better word, for some would consider it disrespectful. It not about respect, it is about the generation that never considers another emotional response to their own actions. I do think about what I write and what I say does it offend someone or does it help them in their journey. Does it help me in my journey as a believer. Does the Holy Spirit use what I write to help others to follow him, or does it steal their hearts away to seek truth from a world that is deceptive in nature. Does real life events teach us about life and faith, or does it teach us about God and ourselves and our reponses to things around us.

God requires us to follow after him an not the world in attitude and action. Yet what in society and in the world is causing our own action not to be of Christ. What are we saying and doing that will and will not please God. A lie is a sign of the antichrist, but even the devil will twist truth. If you listen to the twist you fail to see the truth of what really being said. Devil going to say I told you so either way by his lies and deceptions, right before he drops down in the fiery pit, dragging you with him unless you choose to follow God and not the twist and decptions of the devil.

If we receive Christ as truth we receive the Holy Spirit as well. If you ever see the abuse of God, you will know they look like angels of light until you examine closely what they really are, but devils looking like ministers of light. They will steal the soul of the believer if they could. Yet people of faith hold to your faith and do what is right and follow after Christ, if you under a spell of deception it will not last very long, it will only be there until you see the whole truth of the matter. Why because of the Holy Spirit has allowed one of his children in a den of thieves he will bring them out with an army of other that desire Christ and truth. See the devil knows how to make a believer thirsty by removing God's word from them, a green plant needs water, and dying plant needs some miracle grow, but it still tender enough to know God's word is what saved his soul by belief in Christ Jesus. The devil can not control what man receives as truth, he can only put the word of God out there and twist to deceive those who only hear the lies and not the truth. But a believer will examine the word for truth.

Point being the word of God is truth, and if we listen to His Spirit who sealed us from the day of salvation we will know right from wrong. Faith is daily choice. Sometimes faith is a transforming event that is continual in our life as a beleiver. Nothing wrong with a wrong road because even Jonah ran down a wrong road and lead others to worship God. Your wrong road maybe to teach your stubbornness a lesson you can not learn any other way. Yet that wrong road is not always about world, but how you has a believer reacted to the world that was on the wrong road. This is why we are called to abide in Christ to abide in to remain in faith. Christ is going to keep your feet from walking down roads with no pathway to him. Yet we have to go through the forest to understand there is a path with and to light.

The other day my husband and I went joy riding down a mountain road and backroad with only one sign that says Narrow Virginia. Now when we got to Narrows I knew where we were but kenny was still lost tell he seen the grocery store. He knew he was no longer going down a road that lead to no where. Now anyone knowing where Narrows is knows it is a small little town, not very big, but it is a town in Giles County. Why were we sight seeing, well it was so hot, that we were looking for shade and a creek to swim in. We found a cool shade for the journey and the creek we followed all the way into Narrows. God's pathway maybe long road and less traveled, but there plenty water and cool shade to cool one off from the fiery heat of hell. People are consumed everyday by the fiery pit not knowing Christ pathway is refreshing and cooling from the heat of the world. To abide in Christ we need the force field of the Holy Spirit to surround us in our journey through the world. We need his direction.

To follow God's will is not a pathway of destruction, but a renewing of one's mind to truth and righteous living. A way of living that different then the world most of the time. It does not mean one does not work or play. It does not mean you can not enjoy the things of this life, it means you choose to follow after the will of God for your life and be transformed by the Holy Spirit to live a life pleasing to God and not the world.

Dear Heavenly Father I ask that you transform us to abide by your truth and not the lies and deception of the many antichrist in the world we live in. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: Romans 12:1-3 KJV
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
