Daily Devotions: by Christina Farris

John 17:11-23 KJV
(11) And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.
(12) While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.
(13) And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.
(14) I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
(15) I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.
(16) They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
(17) Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
(18) As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.
(19) And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.
(20) Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;
(21) That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
(22) And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:
(23) I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

As Jesus prayed for his disciples/believers He prayed for their unity and that their unity would come because of faith. If Jesus is the one that baptizes you into the word of God through the Holy Spirit then you are His child upon faith. If Christ taught you, then you know that what He taught was His Word and about His Father and the Holy Spirit. And these there are one and yet seen in three persons. Jesus desired the unity of the believers to be in the same unison as the Father.

We must wake up to the fact to be one with fellow believers we all must be baptized by Christ by having a personal relationship with God. If I go to a sporting event everyone there is unity to the fact that they want to see their team win, even when on opposite sides. Yet one can not be baptized into sport world without going to a game. Until you get saved you can not be baptized by Jesus. Upon belief in Jesus and receiving him into your heart you are then baptized in his death and resurrection. The very act of sanctification begins from the first cleansing through faith and continual work of grace, of correction in a believers life to compel and to turn away from sin.

Jesus sanctify himself, and yet to hear Jesus sanctified himself sounds like Jesus is playing God, but what in truth is he saying He purified by Godís word and being the word of God in the flesh. He knows not the sin of the world in his body, or his being as being a sinner for He came and left this world purified both in the flesh and through his death and resurrection. The human race has to purified by the knowledge of the truth of the word of God and not the lies and twists of the word by the devil. Only way to be sanctified is to know and have knowledge of what God said by studying the word of God and listening the Holy Spirit.

To be baptized in the word of God through faith then will unity rise in the church world. Agreement comes through believing the word of God and not before. Faith comes from hearing the word and listening and obeying the Holy Spirit. Help get your whole church saved and those that come in, to have unity. For as long as the devil can be there it will be chaos.

Dear Heavenly purify our hearts and soul through the baptism of you, your Son and the Holy Spirit. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
