Lead To The Slaughter or Judged By God

Daily Devotions: by Christina Farris

Exodus 32:26-35 KJV
(26) Then Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and said, Who is on the LORD'S side? let him come unto me. And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together unto him.
(27) And he said unto them, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Put every man his sword by his side, and go in and out from gate to gate throughout the camp, and slay every man his brother, and every man his companion, and every man his neighbour.
(28) And the children of Levi did according to the word of Moses: and there fell of the people that day about three thousand men.
(29) For Moses had said, Consecrate yourselves to day to the LORD, even every man upon his son, and upon his brother; that he may bestow upon you a blessing this day.
(30) And it came to pass on the morrow, that Moses said unto the people, Ye have sinned a great sin: and now I will go up unto the LORD; peradventure I shall make an atonement for your sin.
(31) And Moses returned unto the LORD, and said, Oh, this people have sinned a great sin, and have made them gods of gold.
(32) Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin--; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written.
(33) And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book.
(34) Therefore now go, lead the people unto the place of which I have spoken unto thee: behold, mine Angel shall go before thee: nevertheless in the day when I visit I will visit their sin upon them.
(35) And the LORD plagued the people, because they made the calf, which Aaron made.

How easy it is for man to grow angry at the sin of idolatry that killing occurs in the human race. Sin of Idolatry is against God not man. It is a crime against God that God will repay by the blotting out of the book of life. I could stop the devotion with that one sentence, but I will not. God has the ability to judge man for sin, then perhaps we should do it, unless it is about sin against mankind. The laws of the land is about sin against each other. The law of sin against God cast one out of heaven. Moses is corrected for the slaughter of Israel that kneels to Baal. Through out history even at time of Elijah war was made with false prophets and the showing of the truth of who God is. With the proof came a great slaughter, and people killed for the worship of idol. Yet the crime of Idolatry was against God not man. Only crime idolatries make against humanity is lying, deception and scamming of the people for money and other things. None of these things were worthy of death.

Levitical tribe would be punished with plagues for making idol, for doing has the people required because they fear not God and did not stand up to the people. In Elijah, he was only one prophet and he stood up to 450 Baal worshippers. Then when the altar of the Lord was set on fire, the slaughter of the false prophets took place. Those false at the time of Elijah were either killed by their own hand or the hand of Godís soldiers. For the Baal worshippers slashed themselves with knives, and beat themselves with whips. with the proof of God at the time of Elijah who sod soaked the altar and around the altar with water, knew himself the power of God as fire rained down from heaven upon the altar. The people of God bowed to the power of God over the enemy of Baal.

Christ was lead to the slaughter because of the exaltation of who He was as the Son of God, King of Kings, and Lord of Lords. The proof of who He was came with the resurrection and one day with His physical reappearance to the world. God will one day destroy the idolatries, but until that day the anti christ will rise in the land of hope and promise. People will be lead away from the God and His Son Jesus. Our job is to stand up in faith by our witness and standing against the lies of the devil.

Dear Heavenly Father as our enemies rise may the day of redemption draw near of your saving grace and may the lies of devil be disproved over and over again. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
