Once Were

Daily Devotions: by Christina Farris

Titus 3:3-7 KJV
(3) For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.
(4) But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,
(5) Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
(6) Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
(7) That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

There is not one person that sits in the self-righteous church that can claim they were ever without sin in their life. Noah found grace in the eyes of God. Abraham fround faith, David was called a man after Godís own heart and was a killer, Moses had faith to lead a nation but was a killer. One has to ask what then can we say about those of purity like Hannah, Mary, Ruth, and Samuel. Their faith saved them too, for it was impossible to receive hope and protection without faith in God..

If we want to point fingers let us look first at ourselves. People of righteous are not without fault, but are redeem by blood of Lamb. Redeemed by faith in Christ Jesus both Old and New when we look at Christ as being the word of God that became flesh for all man to see the hope of God through the resurrection. Abraham even turned from sin, but it does not say he bowed on his knees to God, but the put away his wives. Moses took his punishment and lived else where till his death. David felt the chastisement of his people as well as God.

Dear Heavenly Father may you continue to give the hope to the sinner, of the redeeming act of grace through faith in Christ Jesus. Enabling the sinner to turn from the wickedness of sin. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
